U.S. Ambassador to Libya Killed

So, why would he be ‘laser painting’ targets?
The laser is used to designate a target which is then used by laser guided bombs, missiles, artillery etc. to seek the target.

No, no, I did know that much. Heh. But WHY is he supposedly laser painting targets? Just to do it? He was a SEAL, correct? Surely he doesn’t think bombs and missiles just show up out of thin air because he’s pointing a laser.

He was asking for an airstrike on the target(mortar team) and from what I understand was refused and subsequently killed by a mortar.

Right, but that still doesn’t make sense to me. Why is he already painting targets? Did he somehow come to believe aircraft were already in place? Or, that they should’ve been in place “by now?” I mean, they don’t just sit there painting a target before aircraft are even available, do they?

Good point. I know there was air support based in Sicily. Perhaps they were within range, I don’t know.

Yeah, it seems odd if he’s already painting targets. Basically I’m wondering if the poor soul was told they were coming for him, and by his estimation, his support should have been close to within range, if not already in range. Never being updated with the the stand-down/hold off (again, I’m not a military man, excuse my phrasing) order…

Possibly. I’m not military either but if I had to guess I’d say he painted the target because he was already there firing on the target with a heavy machine gun and was hoping for imminent air support.

Also isn’t the President now claiming he gave the directive to do everything we could to protect our personnel. So, what happened? Who is calling off assets being moved and forces deployed if the President gave such an order?
â??The minute I found out what was happening . . . I gave the directive,â?? he said, â??to make sure we are securing our personnel and doing whatever we need to do. I guarantee you everybody in the CIA and military knew the number-one priority was making sure our people are safe.â??

How come the mainstream media hasn’t asked for this order to be released? If he gave such a directive, what the heck happened? Did he give it? Did he rescind it? Was it ignored? Who’d be responsible for ignoring? Why hasn’t that person or persons been outed?

Not sure if this has been discussed or posted yet? But very much worth the quick read imo.

It will all come out after the press helps him get reelected.

This ends the mainstream media bias arguments that happens here. There is no way in hell a republican President could have said this without the media asking “If you, the President, gave such a direct order, then what happened?” This is a day in and day out headline story, and it’s basically gone cold, even when puzzling statements are made by the President. If he, the President gave such a clear directive, what the hell happened? It’s damned criminal how silent the press has gone. It’s a threat to democracy.

The U.S. Mission in Benghazi convened an ?emergency meeting? less than a month before the assault that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans, because Al Qaeda had training camps in Benghazi and the consulate could not defend against a ?coordinated attack,? according to a classified cable reviewed by Fox News.

Can you imagine how guilty they must feel after reporting this piece of news? What in the world ever drove them to tell the truth?

Dare I say… It seems the media either thinks this one is in the books for Bam and trying to save some face, or the guilt they are feeling is starting to push them to do their jobs

To be honest? There are a handful of journalists out there that want to be able to look themselves in the eye, and these four American’s deserve more than “it was a youtube video”.
