U of Arizona - Tucson

Hey guys,

From many of the educated, concise advice I see on T-mag. I guess many of you went to college, so I need your advice.

I am a Uni student in the UK and I have the opportunity to study for a year in the University of Arizona to study. I am going to be studying chemistry

Me being English I know very little about college reputations (except the ivy league). So I am looking for any reviews academic, sports (guess I will get to learn some American sports, or just kick your asses at ‘soccer’ although I believe its chicks that play it out there). Good gym?? And finally, and most importantly the Social side of the University.

Thanks for any replies, all I have is college knowledge from every teeny trashy movie you export to the UK (although I hope college is like Animal House)

Thanks in advance

Dave

I am at the U of A now, and I must say, I enjoy it immensely. I have been up to ASU, and must admit, the bar scene is better up there. The Greek scene, from what I hear at least, is better at the U of A. I can tell you that I nearly flunked out because the Greek scene was fun. But I reeled it in eventually. As far as the women go, what is great about the U of A is that it is a safety school for the great state of California. What the essentially means is this: For those girls who don’t get into the UC system (read: hot and not so smart!), they come to Tucson!! The city itself largely is a melting pot of rednecks, illegals, and bluehairs. You also have your obligatory Birkenstock Bunch who live around the campus, but that is expected.
As far as academics, UA is pretty good in many subjects and awesome in some. Waterbury goes here, and I think that speaks volumes.
I moved here from Minnesota, and I must say, I have enjoyed my stay so far. Just please, don’t go to ASU…
That’s all I ask.

Tizokey- What’s wrong with ASU?
