Syntha 6 for taste, but I use Dymatize XT becuase it has lower cholesterol (less whey concentrate) than the others. For straight whey any of the ISO’s do…Im not picky.

From reading other threads around here I know you follow paleo, so I am interested to know what do you do pwo?
oh’ btw I usually buy bulk powders - no flavour, no fillers, nada!
I’d drink battery acid if knew it was good for me lol

Same here! Flavor is irrelevant.
For taste and convenience I use Dymatize elite. I’ve also used ON whey and EAS whey. EAS didn’t mix well.

Have a meal.
I’m usually up at 5AM, eat a small P+C meal (quinoa and eggs), then head to the gym to lift, then eat breakfast (mushroom/onion/garlic omelet with spinach, cooked in coconut oil) around 8PM and then head into the office.
Meals have been much more beneficial for me than shakes, but everyone is different, and the quality of the meals your able to get will make a huge difference.
BSN Syntha 6 chocolate peanut butter or BSN’s cinnamon bun lean dessert…Deeeeelicious. Metabolic Drive will always be my fav protein powder though…BSN just better fits the budget right now.

So you wouldnt put much credence in nutrient timing e.g. fast acting carbs (glucose) plus fast digesting protein (hydrolyzed whey) etc pwo but rather opt for a sensible meal? I am leaning towards that idea more lately and not bothered so much if I don’t have a pwo shake thinking that the edge it is supposed to give you is not that big of a deal considering all the other factors that should be in place for successful training session to occur.
I assume you are off dairy with the elimination of whey etc?

In short, yes. I pay no attention to fast digesting proteins or fast acting carbs. I do pay attention to certain “windows”, as in I have a good P+C meal an hour before training and a good P+C+F meal within an hour after training. I’m also very particular about the “reverse pyramid”, as well as having my carbs in the mornings and my fats in the evenings.
I think eating extremely well, getting your micros from high quality sources, and eating smart for your body/goals is much more important than making sure to get some crazy shake down 2 minutes after you’ve finished working out.
Obviously, if your at an elite level or peaking for a show, these small tweaks will make an impact, but I think most people around here aren’t at that level, and they simply place to much time worrying about the best protein shake or fad supplement, instead of simply eating extremely smart and training as hard as possible when they’re actually in the gym.
(And yes, you are correct in the fact that I have eliminated dairy from my diet. It made me extremely sluggish and was also rough on my digestive system. I will let everyone make their own judgments on dairy, but personally I don’t think humans were meant to ingest it past the “baby” stages of life.)
Metabolic Nutrition’s Protizyme Peanut Butter Cookie flavor.
This is without a doubt the best tasting protein powder I’ve ever had.
Optimum nutrition double rich chocolate, and evopro. both chocolate flavors. gets my chocolate fix in anytime of the day
Optimum - white chocolate is a wonder for me, but gotta love Chocolate and chips one too

Its funny how some guys will fork out big bucks for the latest buzz supplements yet their diet is atrocious?
I eliminated wheat and oats from my diet and I feel so much better for it. I lost 5kg in a few weeks (non-intentionally btw) and I my concentration, digestion and overall health has improved dramatically. I still have dairy as I have no problems with it, so I will stick with that but I do know where you are coming from. Its a hard transition moving from daily staples to ‘alternatives’ but in the long run it is worth it.
Cheers for responding
Metabolic Drive - strawberry and vanilla
Champion Nutrition Whey - chocolate
Most disgusting: Optimum Nutrition Casein - chocolate
I wouldnt buy all the high priced Biotest protein. I suggest TrueProtein, its the highest quality without the colorful labels
I like the colorful labels

Kudos to Biotest to even let this thread ride.
Jared, you could have just said “TP”-- you didn’t have to come into Biotest’s house and shit on their carpet.

That’s what makes these forums what they are. Props.
