I’m tired of playing young; I want to be the big guy that I wasÃ?¢?Ã?¦I’ve been auditioning, They’re finalizing so they’re trying to figure out what happens next. I’ve been waiting for a while, doing screen tests. There are just so many cooks in the kitchen. If it happens, it happensÃ?¢?Ã?¦Regardless, it’s not gonna be the new Arnold Schwarzenegger type of movie, no one’s going to try and play that role. I think they’re going younger, a different type of story. I’m just excited, because the script is great.”

First thing he says is he WANTS to put the weight on.

Have faith.
If he makes the same sort of progress that other kid in twilight made for his role, he might not be so bad as conan after all. I just can’t see it if it stays in the same shape as the pic Prof X posted.

I guess there really isn’t anyone else they could cast, there isn’t exactly a huge amount of muscular actors.
That last line is just, not right. Sure there may not be an excess of Arnolds walking around hollywood, but there are enough guys that are definitely bigger than this one(although he does say he wants to put weight back on like JB pointed out, so obviously he used to be bigger, but how much?). If you go through action movies there’s all sorts of side characters(not extras, but not leading men either) that have some pretty good builds to them, I’m sure SOMEONE out of that group can muster up a performance as a fucking barbarian. It’s not Lutz career is littered with starring roles(yes I checked IMDB for this…) so he’s clearly not some prodigy actor with skills that are just too good to pass up, the only reason most people even know his name is that he is associated with Twilight(and he is far down that list, which they do by screentime).

It’s just a business decision to use someone like this kid because like they said, it’s about marketing to the modern audience, which we are definitely a minority of, and they want to take advantage of Twilight’s success by picking an apple out of it’s tree of new name actors. That’s my opinion at least.

I don’t see the problem with this guy as Conan…he’s not Arnold,of course,BUT he’s not some small runt actor either. He looks to be at least 6’1 or so. I’m sure they will beef him up a bit and he will be fine…well hopefully.
We should make a new rule. You don’t get to diss actors because they aren’t muscular enough for a part unless you at least match their current size or surpass it.
x1000. The hating on holywood actors here because they aren’t HUUUUUUGE gets old and just smacks of jealousy about the fact they make more $$, look better and get hotter girls

I told my gf about this and had no clue what Conan was. I told her about Commando, Mad Maxx, and Predator she gave me a blank stare. I told her these are classics!

Now I’ll admit to not having popped Mad Max into the DVD player for a while, but I seem to recall that being Mel Gibson…

PATHETIC.

That is almost as bad as one of my patients (who was at least 24) saying “who’s Wonder Woman?” after stating she looked like the woman (Linda Carter) who played her on tv.
You have a patient that looks like a 24 year old Linda Carter! Sweet Merciful Crap!

If you weren’t fuzzyapple, I’d say that little statement speaks volumes about how much size you’re carrying and that you’re another lightly built guy who lists and eats right…but you are fuzzyapple, so I will not say anything about that. Nope, nothing.

This thread makes me sad in so many ways.

Too many people don’t know who Conan is. My wife teaches high school and made an Arnold reference one day. The entire class stared blankly. She started naming Arnold movies and they just sat there. She finally got to terminator and someone said, “Oh, the movie with that batman guy”. She made a last ditch effort with the Governor of California…more shrugs. Oh the humanity.

Yes, in his early years where he still had his Australian accent.

@TD thanks?

Uh, yeah…Mel Gibson was in Mad Max. Arnold was nowhere to be seen in those movies.

Lol I was just listing classic old ones not just movies with Arnold in them. By chance I listed two with him in it. I could have listed Lethal Weapon or even Die Hard but those came to mind at the time.

Thank God in here people value muscle, seriously all my friends dream of being big not ghey ripped(ok some do want to be small and ripped). All my friends know Arnold and Stallone and these guys.Damn those guys are legends…But seriously movies these days are GHEY ,nowhere near being full of adrenaline and manliness like they have been… sad…

So your gf made you watch twilight before you even told her that Commando exists? Keep digging.

MEL GIBSON FTW!

And it sounds like you need to Stick It In Her Pooper for being ignorant.

What team are you on? Jacob or Edward?

When I said that this guy seems gay and wouldn’t be the right choice for Conan, didn’t say it 'cause I have a problem with gays, I could care less about someones sexual preference. I just have a problem with someone who’s feminine portraying the epitome of pre-domestication masculinity. Doesn’t work.
