That’s understandable…I didn’t look at it from that point of view…again I am from the younger generation so it doesn’t really bug me…but from the way you said it…I can see it bugging the older men, who grew up with the more classic way of things regarding the vampires.
I really just felt in the movie the whole vampire/werewolf thing was watered way down just because it’s meant for a younger audience and well…they aren’t really going to put out vicious vampires and wolves in a movie for their target audience (the young folk). Most vampire movies come across as a horror and well Twilight is far from a horror and in the movie the vampires are not these blood sucking monsters craving human blood and striking fear…it is the opposite actually where they encounter humans and don’t have the intension of sucking the life out of them, they adapt. I guess a more modern era of vampires? lol
This is why I never liked you much.
I dont get it. Why not elaborate on that. Oh as well…did you really think I never knew you never liked me much.

Rasturai,
You are a veteran of these forums and as such should know better then to come to GAL and try to talk reason to “grown ass men” who are willfully choosing to bitch about something. This is what GAL is about, talking nonsense and bitching about the idiosyncrasies in life that really have very little impact on our actual lives is what we do here. It’s like jumping in and defending a newb in the BB threads after ProX has started grilling them. Sure you can do it, but expect to get flamed. Therefor I do reserve the right to say you have teh ghey, but not because you willfully watched sparkling vampires in your spare time, because you willfully chose to defend said vampires against a lynch mob who hate the sissyfied image the media is turning vampires into, and sounded like the 12 year old girls who love these movies while doing so.

lol dont worry man I knew everyone was gonna rag on me when I ruined the ebb and flow of this thread. I am almost going against everything in this thread that the guys mentioned…except for greg who said he liked the movie. My intensions were to see what everyone elses thoughts were going to be after I said the opposite of the mob. And no Andrew, I did not watch the movie in my spare time…I finished work, I finished training, I grabbed a meal and my girl wanted to watch a movie and really wanted to see Twilight…so to wind down I said okay Ill go.
Again I really only think this is the sissyfied vampire movie…I am MORE than sure another vampire will come out that will be utterly gruesome and horrific…and I WILL BE the one to CHOOSE to go watch that movie.
I still cant get over Prof.x comment as well, man you make me laugh. For real.

Verdict about what? You have a habit of presenting a view on many topics that comes across like your girlfriend wrote the post. This is a website with references to testosterone in the title. This movie has pretty much infected enough of pop culture that most of us couldn’t avoid some discussion of it even if we tried. Therefore, crying about why we are discussing this lame piece of shit makes no logical sense.
If we were going out of our way to find info on this movie, THEN your point just might be valid…but it isn’t…and many people have told you the same thing.
That means that YOU are the one who should ignore this thread if it offends you so much.
They took a historically significant plot device concerning “vampires” and turned it into popcorn crap that completely erased the basic premise of these mythical characters.
Why wouldn’t we talk about it??
Okay Prof. you make a good point there. Seriosuly…all the information I got about the movie comes from people who have read the books many times (yes including my girlfriend), and I just listened. Again I am not a huge fan of the movies or anything…I said numerous times they are alright. The third one in my opinion is the best because of the battle (although was not an epic battle like expected). I am not crying about why you are discussing this lame piece of shit. I just didnt understand why a bunch of grownass men including yourself were so riled up about it…that is REALLY what caught my attention and I just tried for you all to see a different point of view in it, which most definately made me an outcast.
(Im going to repeat myself here): This thread does not offend me at all, again I just wanted more of a reason of why everyone thinks the movie is such shit when really it is alright. I just think everyone exaggerated here and for the most part guys will follow the pack of other guys to fit in. So if a bunch of tough guys say the movie is horrible and complete shit…well guess what 90% of other guys will do…they will follow what is acceptable. Its a guy thing to say that movie is complete shit because its the guy thing to do. Just like its a guy thing to like cars, make BBQs, lift weights (for some), etc etc.
I know they took a histortically significant plot concerning vampires and turned it into popcorn crap etc etc. but thats just how the books are made. Everyone has a different idea and this is how the books were set up, so they went on with the movie on how the books are made…they didnt pull the idea out of their ass. So a woman created the books and made a big hit…I really dont think it completely erased the basic premise of the characters…the movies are much more misleading than the books…in the books there are blood sucking vampires that seek human blood, but the vampires that are the main characters in the movie are much more civilized than this. They dont show this enough in the movies and obviosuly it disturbs many who follow the true vampire way.
Anyways, Id like to hear your feedback…if you dont want to bother thats cool with me, if so…thats great. From many posts I see we dont agree or see eye to eye on many things but I actually like it that way because it shows me a completely different perspective of someone elses thoughts towards mine and I can take somethin away from it.
I also wanted to mention that yes…this website does have a reference of testosterone in the title…Id bet my life that I got that shit mentally down more than 90% of people on this site…it doesnt mean I gotta be a hardass in every post I make. I dont mistake kindness for weakness and in the real world I cant be polite to every motherfucker I come across…so this is an outlet where you know…I can wind down.
You said: You have a habit of presenting a view on many topics that comes across like your girlfriend wrote the post.
I am just trying to put my shoes in that persons life. Its just so easy for people to say man up for everything, when in reality they havent even been in enough adversity to justify it. So in other posts if it comes off a little too compassionate Id like someone to see some comfort in my posts and see someone cares what they gotta say and not just flame away.
Thats all I gotta say. Theres not many hard fuckers here in real life. And this whole website tries to be so hardcore and tough sometimes it just makes me laugh, even with the marketing…give me a break.
Yes Ive gone completely off topic here a well, looking at a bigger picture.
