Got anothers session because I was feeling good. wanted to DL as well, but ran out of time again. Oh well. Will be back fresh on Monday. As I look back, I hit squats 4 times this week and I am not demolished as I would expect. I guess if you do condition your body and be careful about rep scheme and percentage, the body can handle multiple sessions. Probably will not make a habit out of this but good to see I can do this and control the session within my body limits.

Kept things light and fast. Stayed within a low percentage in order to be able to train tomorrow.

An indicator I just picked up on is why I take my pre-workout hype me up drink and the drink does not work, then I know it is time to back away from the weights. Today was such a day but I pushed through training session anyway.

overall, i am pleased with my progress. The goal for this meet is to hit a minumum of 1400 to a projected max of 1460. Very reasonable goal so my first two attempts of each lift should be as follows:

Squat…402/452/ and third lift will be determined by how 2nd attempt feel. Reallty want 502 but looking at 480+

Bench…275(just to c how long pause is..some judges wait forever some do it quick)

The only thing I will be doing from hence forward up to meet is steady state cardio, stretching, and body maintenance in order to be in the 242 class and to let body recover for the meet. Today’s body weight was 249.8..plenty of time to reach goal weight for competition of 238-240.

1/22: Today’s meet…Was a little disappointed because brother could not come to video since wife went to early service. Oh well.

Squat

1St attempt ..Took opener at 425…didn’t feel explosive so was worried ..3 whites
2nd attempt…463…Felt explosive…3 White lites
3rd attempt…501…Lost tightness coming up because relied on belt too much and weight didn’t feel like a million pounds like I thought it would. As I came up, got too excited and the weight shifted forward so could not recover and got got stuck half way up..pissed off..3 Reds

1st attempt…303..3 white lights
2nd attempt…363…3 white lights
3rd attempt…380…3 white lights…I felt a slight struggle at 363 and didn’t want to jeapordize total so went for 380 but after hitting 380 I could have went 10 more pounds…

By the time Deadlift came around about 4pm, I was spent and gas tank on E. I had nothing left and all energy pills and power drinks stopped working even after taking another shot of energy arouned 3:30. On top of that during warmups, I was starting to feel light headed after each attempt.

I say hell yeah, because I hit an all time PR total of 1405Lbs (8/9) and placed 2nd in weight class. Overall, I shot big for 60 more pounds initially, but I am pleased. I raised my total from around 1250 to 1400 in a year.

Things some guys said I need to work on is more max effort training and I need to work on my initial set up on my DL because I was using more back and not getting enough leg drive. I was shown a pretty good technique at meet and I will start using this technique from hence forth.

Started new log… Wanted to track progress at 100Lb increments and see what works as I progress. Some things work for a while and then you have to change from the research I have been doing on the more experienced lifters who are putting up 1700Lb+ totals
