Trump: The Third Year

I may be out of date, but it’s my understanding the additional welfare Trump threw to cover the trade war was focused on the business owners of said products.

Ie, if you are employed by a cattle company in WV, as is very common, the guy who runs the joint is doing alright, while your hours have been cut due to lack of demand.

Plus it’s not like the added welfare covered all of the trade war losses. So even the farm owners are feeling it a bit.

I was under the impression most of Trump’s tariffs were centered around non edible goods coming in from China.

Im speaking in general, re subsidizing different sectors.
Not up to date on exactly which categories are earmarked.

When the US allows its electronics sector to disappear so l can buy a 75" tv for 1000$, there is obviously a brewing issue in sourcing military jamming electronics from China.

Just a general example as l dont know what electronic items might actually be coming from China vs Korea, Taiwan, etc.

Ah. My comments were geared towards the many support aspects (most notably, paychecks) that Trump damaged with the trade war that he hasn’t even touched with the welfare additions.

Yeah that’ll happen. Praise the free market

My point is everyone likes cheap food, steel, clothes.
You let your capability to produce some of these items, you will struggle to maintain your position or even security.

Agreed.

Especially if you pick a fight with a guy who doesn’t have a clock or a budget to worry about.

I’d actually be on board with the trade war, as I really do have tons of issues with China’s practices, if Trump hadn’t shown up to a gun fight with a straw and some notebook paper.

We have a guy who is fighting a trade war against a foreign country that he has products in. And those products say to make America great again.

Trump supporters just don’t give a shit.

Trying to discuss the inadvisability of not maintaining your manufacturing capability aw, nevermind TDSers.

Enjoy yourselves.

Right. And I was discussing the downfalls of starting fights you can’t win.

Cute lol. I love when the Trump boner has reached such a critical mass that any critiques of his position is TDS.

So much for a guy who says he doesn’t love Trump. From the way you defend even his obvious flaws I’d think you get a chub watching his rallies.

Which Chinese Trump item do you most prefer to wear while telling everyone how Trump puts America first?

TDS is code for I can’t defend him so I’ll pretend the problem is with someone else.

@H_factor @pfury

Thank you for proving my TDS point.
I posted an import list from China, made several posts regarding maintaining capability in key sectors as wise to a nation, said nothing of Trump, and it morphs into 6D chess wiseassery.
Yes that is TDS.

But I only spent a 3 decade career working in manufacturing / distribution as an owner, salesman, and procurement agent. Maybe your book knowledge outweighs my personal involvement with hundreds of millions of dollars of making and moving goods.

Your point is about as strong as Hillary’s deplorable point. Congrats on the different flavor?

You responded to my post that was about people back home in WV running out of patience with Trump as they’re starting to think his process is flawed.

I apologize that you think I initiated any Trump conversation off your topic, in a Trump thread. The truth is you commented on a Trump centric point I had made. Not sure what you expected.

I call it reading comprehension, but to each his own.

Good thing I never said

If only my issue was with the process of picking a fight without the ability to win it. If only.

But I guess keep blaming “TDS.” It sure helped Hillary

Obviously struck a nerve haha

Have a good one.
I have to get something constructive done today, or otherwise my wife…

I didn’t write a reply to your post or points. And PF’s reply to me was separate. So I’m not sure how it’s TDS in a thread about Trump. But yes I find it stupid as fuck that we have a President who has a lot of his shit which says Make America Great Again made in the very place we have a trade war with.

I’m not sure what’s deranged about that unless you’re talking about the fact that you’d have to be deranged to think that makes any sense.

Definitely. I really care about what lifer Republicans think of me on the internet.

You too! I’ll try to not let my Trump hate run too much of my day to day life!

Edit:

You’d know, if Hillary and the deep state hadn’t brainwashed you into forgetting about benghazi and Obama’s forged birth cert

ok last post

you may be surprised to know I have voted 3rd party in 3 of 10 presidential races and been registered as Dem 1 cycle and Ind 2 cycles, but I am conservative mostly.

I’m actually genuinely curious about which Dem candidate you voted fo
Edit: and know I’m really hoping it was Obama in 08, but I can’t imagine anything less likely

Agreed. The counter point would be that the US currently gets Chinese goods via Chinese cash flooding into treasury purchases, and subsequently out to lenders and business.

So after a certain point, the Chinese will be left with what amounts to worthless promissory notes, while the US got actual materiel.

I’m not convinced by that, especially given the difficulty of restarting manufacturing once it has shut down.

I’m also not convinced that US allies who are reliant on Chinese trade are going to back them up (Australia for instance).

I just closed a giant deal regarding pigs. Billions of dollars.

Apparently pig ebola (seriously) has wiped out pretty much all the pigs in Asia, a story that is being actively suppressed by the Chinese government, but is getting out. Not a direct threat to human life, although sick people who eat contaminated meat can have problems.

This is a mainstay of the Chinese economy and diet. Think if all the cows and chickens in the USA died or had to be killed. Or to put it another way, the Chinese character for a home is a stick figure house with a pig in it.

Anyway, it’s an economic and ecological disaster.

The Chinese are actively seeking pork from all over the world to meet demand, probably near to the level of oil demand.

Long way of saying, this will seriously hurt the Chinese economy, so they can’t afford a trade war. They’re going to have to make concessions.

Trump remains the luckiest dumb ass in all of human history.
