Murray never paid his damn bills in the first place. His vendors won’t even notice the difference. Lecherous old coot.

Don’t worry he won’t now either. Rich people bankruptcy works very differently.

Oh I’m aware. HE won’t be bankrupt. Just the holding companies that hold all the debt. HE’ll be just fine.

To be fair that’s how the coal business works. Lever your way into the business buying up the mineral assets. Mine the shit out of them when coal prices are high, minting money. Then file bankruptcy whenever it suits you.

Most times they don’t even move their office or change management or board members. They change the sign on the door and answer the phones with a new company name and phone number. It’s just the employees and vendors that get screwed.

This process is so streamlined you can go bankrupt, shed your obligations like they never happened… then turn around with the exact same management and do an IPO with the unencumbered company less than two years later… making the managers millions.

So, what I’m hearing is the GOP has its nominee for President in 2024?

Please tell me I am wrong about this…because Trump already has me losing it most days…

Is he supposed to be signing some executive order in order to “save” a “socialist” Program (Medicare) from Socialism?

(I’m looking more for details…and if it’s all “fake news”…I’m good!)

Looks like I’m late to the game. (Guess it all got buried in the Impeachment/Syria/Turkey/Kurds/Bagdahdi news).

“Trump signed an executive order on October 3 to “protect and improve” Medicare with a series of somewhat vague proposals that are aimed at expanding a more market-based approach to Medicare”.

Oh boy.

Details are hard to find and/or understand.
I welcome any clarity.

It looked to me to be a directive to DHS to look for those market based options. Moreso than a ready made list.

These idiots don’t have any idea what socialism is. You’re talking about people who cry that the left wants socialism while supporting a guy who gave direct payments to farmers. These are the same tea party morons who railed against big government while holding up signs that said keep the governments hands off my Medicare.

I have no idea whether that happened, but it’s perfectly logical to be against big government while demanding that government not take money from Medicare(unless the government offers to refund everything that was paid in)-people were forced to pay into it!

It most certainly did.

(P.S. It may have been “Social Security” instead of Medicare).

I don’t doubt it.

Much like Medicare, many people have paid into it.

Potential whistleblower name and resume is outed. Presented without comment. Article is rather fair, listing pros and cons of his associations and resume as it relates to the impeachment inquiry.

Shouldn’t matter really. Democrats will vote to impeach, it wouldn’t matter if Satan himself was the whistleblower. They have to impeach now (from a political standpoint).

Red flags about the “objectivity” started popping up in my head when I read that they brought up the Alexandra Chalupa / Hillary Clinton angle straight from Russian propaganda.

This paragraph reads like it was written in the Kremlin:

," where the former pro-Hillary Clinton regime in Kiev worked with Obama diplomats and Chalupa to try to “sabotage” Trump’s run for president.

My hunch is that it’s the same situation as with the supposedly “objective investigative reporter” John Solomon who peddled to US mainstream media fake scoops prepared for him by the second-in-command of the Russian mob.

I can smell a mile away when something was written / prepared by the Kremlin.

Can you imagine US conservatives from five decades ago treating Pravda as the go-to source for US domestic policy scoops?

And another thing - it’s amazing how Russian US politics became. In the Soviet Union, any plainly observable fact was considered fake if uttered or written by an “enemy of the people” - a “member of transnational elites” or a “globalist” (both terms meaning Jews) a “kulak” (originally a wealthy peasant but since all of the got exterminated it became a general slur) a deviant Trotskyte or a member of the former bourgeoisie .

So even if the whistleblower in question was a Deep State operative bent on destroying Trump, white America and establishing a tyranny of sexually deviant Clintons, shouldn’t everybody focus on the substance of the allegations and not on his character?

How I see it, most of the impeachable evidence was unwittingly provided by the White House and their acolytes.

This. But here’s another thing - the reason this guy is a whistleblower is because, well, he’s actual “whistleblower” whose identity expressly protected by law. The purpose of this law - and other laws and policies like it - is to encourage people who witness corruption or wrongdoing to speak up knowing the anonymity is an incentive to do so. (I realize most people know this, but Trumpkins are remarkably ignorant on this kind of stuff.)

Republicans and “conservatives” are more than happy to do away with all this so they can “out” the whistleblower and attempt to impugn his credibility. The law be damned - and the future consequences be damned (meaning future whistleblowers will be less likely to speak up for fear that they will be subject to character assassination by the baying mob) - tell us who he is so we can ignore the substance and attack the man.

The Founders worried about this mobocracy and set up a government to mitigate against it - how ironic it is that the betrayers of that vision are flag-waving “conservatives”.

This!!!

Each and every day that Trump is in office is more un-freakin’-belivable, @thunderbolt23 and @loppar.

So you’re saying this guy didn’t work for and with democrats? McCarthy had nothing on you.
