Trump: The Third Year

Jimmy Dore? The comedian? Wtf?

Remember guys, I connected Firtash to Trump a week before the mainstream picked it up

In their effort to discredit President Donald Trump’s perceived enemies, close allies of the President have received key documents and information from a Ukrainian oligarch wanted in the U.S. on corruption charges, according to five people directly involved in this effort and two other people familiar with it.

The information came from the legal team of Dmitry Firtash, a wealthy industrialist with assets across Europe, who has spent the last five years in Vienna fighting extradition to the U.S. on bribery and racketeering charges. The U.S. Department of Justice said in 2017 he was among the “upper echelon associates of Russian organized crime”—something Firtash vigorously denies, along with all charges against him.

As part of his legal defense, Firtash’s lawyers have gathered documents that make controversial allegations against former special counsel Robert Mueller and former Vice President Joe Biden. Firtash’s lawyers have passed these documents and other information to associates of Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani.

In his frequent appearances on cable news, Giuliani has presented some of these documents to the American public as evidence for his claims of wrongdoing by Mueller and Biden. The key document is an affidavit from a former Ukrainian prosecutor who accuses Biden of corruption. “The witness I’m relying on,” Giuliani told Fox News on Oct. 6, was the prosecutor Viktor Shokin. “That’s the affidavit I put out,” Giuliani added. He did not mention that the affidavit was obtained by the Firtash legal team. At the beginning of the document, Shokin writes that he is making the statement “at the request of lawyers acting for Dmitry Firtash.”

So Trump is beholden to both Russia and Ukraine?
Don’t follow.

Firtash, although holding an Ukrainian passport, is the second in command of the Russian mob. He’s close to Putin’s inner circle.

You all know about the US diplomat’s wife that drove on the wrong side of the road and killed a 19 yr old in the UK? Diplomatic immunity, yada yada.

Well, trump asked the kids parents to the White House to discuss what could be done and to hear their piece. Midway through theeeting he revealed that the diplomat’s wife was in the next room waiting to meet them! Needless to say the parents declined and left.

He literally is treating everything as though it were reality TV. Treating people in the midst of tradgedy poorly really fucking irks me.

It would have been great if they did meet and the dad pulled a Sgt Murtaugh.

Nope. First printed references to Ruben sandwich is on a 1934 menu from the Omaha Blackstone.

Typical big city liberals trying to cancel Nebraskan votes AND steal our sandwiches.

My sister lives in Omaha (I’m from Kansas) now so I’ve been up there a lot more frequently. I always thought our weather sucked ass but between this spring/summers floods and her telling me they got snowflakes the other night I know you guys got it worse.

I’d love all states to do something proportionally for President. Not sure the best way to set it up but assuming maybe some type of popular vote threshold per electoral vote or something. I think it would increase voter turnout and candidate appearances.

The RNC is accusing Biden of Nepotism.

Can I get an “LOLZ” on that one?

The problem with getting a Reuben in Nebraska is that you need to go to Nebraska. And if you do go, maybe you’re in witness protection or something, you won’t get a good one, just a tasteless copy made with ketchup and mayo.

When Trump isn’t writing sensitive diplomatic correspondence to Turkey in crayon at the first grade level and not building a wall paid for by Mexico, he’s sending manufacturing into a recession:

AOC endorses BERNIE!!!

WooHoo!

And you guys KNOW what I am going to say…:

MAGA!

4 more years…

In other late breaking news, trump folded like a cheap table and backtracked on holding the G7 at the doral bedbug resort. Someone must have whispered in his ear that this would only make impeachment easier.

Hell yeah, l hope the manufacturing base burns to the ground.

Bernie has been out of the running and her endorsement won’t change that. It may hurt him to some degree since she is seen as crazy but it won’t hurt the eventual Dem nominee.

I a guy with a data background, I approve of these axes.

Let’s lengthen the x axis for a better picture

No disagreement on that point, @zecarlo.

I guess my point is that it “feels” like the DEMS are being picked off by a slow, tortuous death…while Trump seems to give the American people his middle finger and a big “F-You”; grabs his crotch; and appears to get stronger while doing it.

Now; that’s just a perception on my part not backed by any numbers; and the election is a long way off; but Trump’s boast and declaration about being able to kill people on 5th Avenue and still get elected feels real with each day the Tweeter-in-Chief is in office.

Your post is valid.
Both are, in refutting a silly LA Times article that would pretend Trump has somehow destroyed the manufacturing in the last 6 months.

Heavy durables and non commodity manufacturers (l would guess the majority of US manufacturing these days) commonly short term cycle as your longer chart shows. But did add 1/2 mm jobs since Trump on top of rising 10%, so a little retrenching l can see. Mid 2012 thru early 2016 showed little net increase in index.

Not feigning to be your instructor, just mentioning.

That isn’t what the article said - what it said is manufacturing is now in a recession after a long, sustained growth (per @loppar’s correction of your graph), and it’s commiserate with Trump’s hamfisted trade war, which has impacted manufacturing.

Aren’t you troubled that manufacturing has slipped into recession?
