Also, they explicitly state they include those that had FGM happen elsewhere and later came to America. That sure sounds like higher risk of it happening here. Definitely good to include those numbers

I actually thought the best part is that all of the numbers are people āat risk ofā undergoing FGM (a nebulous term with no definition, basically just an excuse to say whatever you want vaguely so it can sound as scary as possible). There are basically no data in rajās link that support an actual increase in FGM.
To the contrary. The link explicitly states there HASNāT been an increase. Then again, the criteria for being āat riskā is probably being female and Muslim.

Again - theyāre including the ānumber at riskā (which is not defined anywhere, but based on the next sentenceā¦)

Ah, okay. So we still donāt actually have any evidence that FGM is actually on the rise in the US, only that more people from countries where it happens are immigrating here. Whatās the evidence that those people are more likely to undergo the procedure in the US? Isnāt it rational thinking that some of them are leaving those nations in part to live in a freer society where they wonāt be forced to do that?
