Yes, youāre evaluating what has occurred in the short run - weāre talking about the long run. Thanks anyway.
If Trump fails to implement his core campaign policies while Iāll still be disappointed Iāll least be happy about the topics he brought attention to that were otherwise taboo prior
So ActivitiesGuy care to comment on the actual content of the thread or just want to take another thread off course with insultsā¦that is what you do after all.
I did enjoy how olā Mick responded to a post about whatās best for the Republican Party in the long run by talking about what Trump has done for the country so far (even putting aside the quality of his Presidency to date, it still missed the point).
One evaluates what has actually happened. What you and your little left wing posse are doing is looking at Trumpās personality and projecting what you think, or should I say wish would happen. And you are basing at least some of that on inaccurate media reports.
But that is what you doā¦all emotion
Trump has done many good things for the countryā¦if you are not on the left you would agree. Take out the personality partā¦the part that you hate. And we know you have plenty of hate in you. But that aside Trump has done a good job in the short time that heās been President.
No Raj, the collective body of liberals on this site lead by the supposed middle of the roader TB says that Trump is an awful President.
Now I wonder what he would have said if all of the things enacted by Trump so far were done so by sayā¦John Kasich?
This is turning into a work of performance art.
Youāre somehow missing the point on a post that explains precisely how youāre missing the point.
Iām observing that whatever anyone thinks of Trumpās Presidency to date, your initial post missed the boat. USMCās comment that was copy/pasted into the thread postulated that a Trump victory would do long-term damage to the Republican brand, and you replied with a comment on how Trumpās Presidency has been better for the country than a Hilary Presidency would have been.
Really tremendous stuff there.
Iām afraid it is you who is not keeping up. This was my response to your leader above:
āOne evaluates what has actually happened.ā
Unless you have a crystal ball that is
No way. That cannot be real. That is Alec Baldwin and the SNL cast in really good makeup. You could not script anything more ludicrous, embarrassing, and awkward. Seriously. How can this be our President?
^ Post commenting on the implications of a Trump presidency for the Republican Party in the long run.
^zeb reply, which addresses the impact of Trumpās Presidency on the country so far relative to a Hilary Presidency.
Note that this is not necessarily the same thing as whatās good for the Republican Party in the long run.
^post explaining how these are different things.
^face-saving āno, it is YOU who is wrong!ā post.
Thatās a Full Zeb.
Actually, itās not weird at all - if youāre looking at typical Cabinet meetings in Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan and so on the behavior of Trumpās Cabinet members is spot on.
While the grovelling acolytes who praise the Great Leader and his āaccomplishmentsā in the valiant struggle against āthose peopleā is virtually identical, the second part of the typical dictatorial cabinet meeting is conspicuously missing - the Great Leader lambasting and humiliating the Cabinet members for their alleged failures.
Which agains shows that Trump doesnāt have the balls to go all-out - heās just playing pretend when it comes to being a poor manās Mussolini.
You go to great lengths to point out that I commented on the fact that Trump in my estimation has done a good job so far. I fully understand that TB was talking about the future. And as I said no one can predict the future unless one is clairvoyant.
And you also left out my further comment. āOne evaluates what ahs actually happenedā
The more you try to make me look bad, the more you look bad. Soā¦keep it up AG. Your hate for me is causing you to misstep.
No, one evaluates what is likely to happen based on signals being seen now. Every business ever does this, and you - as a claimed business owner - should know that. Thatās how you plan for the long term - by trying to predict what will happen based on rational information, and make decisions around them.
Hell, yāall were just saying that about the coal industry.
Yes, itās perfectly wise and smart to evaluate where the long term is expected to land based on information you receive now.
Thatās common sense - but guess what? Someone noted that a long term projection is bad based on Trumpās performance, and what do you do? Attempt to argue that, hey, you canāt look down the road at the long term.
Trump defense, no matter what. Hack.
Not from where Iām sitting. To the contrary, he has been a disaster. We are a laughingstock internationally; we have lost our place as leader of the free world; the economy has not improved one bit; environmental protections have been rolled back; the ME has been primed for yet another conflagration; healthcare is on its way to becoming a national disaster.
Thus far, the only good to come out of the Trump presidency is that it has awakened and galvanized the political activism of thoughtful, moderate individuals, both here and (of recent import) in European democracies. In particular, these Europeans adopted a āNot in my country!ā attitude when it comes to candidates of Trumpās sort. Because of this newfound political activism, extremist candidates were beaten in France, Austria and the Netherlands.
And you evaluate the long-run based on what? How you āfeelā about someone? "The feelz have gotta be there ya right? Ha. That is what you are doing isnāt it? I brought up the fact that Trump has done a reasonably good job in the short run to point out that there is no reason for me to believe that this will change.
For example, is he suddenly going to appoint a liberal to the Supreme Court? Is he suddenly going to reverse all of his executive orders and reinstate Obamaās executive orders? Will his very high rating by the NFIB suddenly drop like a rock? Is he going to turn his back on his supporters and add regulations instead of reducing them as he has done! Will he now raise taxes instead of lowering them as he promised?
Wake the hell up and get your head back in the game. Trump whether you like him or not (and everyone on the site including your left wing buddies know that you hate him) is not going to change. Keep your emotion out of your assessment.
Trump, whether he is a real conservative or not, is governing like one. And if you think that this will change in the future you are wrong once again, as you have been on just about every major political prediction that youāve ever made!
Obviously, you are as partisan left as I am right.
Reallyā¦
You like Gorsuch being on the SC ED?
No? Oh well I am certainly surprisedā¦
What is the point of all this?
