This is exactly what I was thinking honestly lol. I didn’t think there was any way a 70+ year old man would actually act the way Trump does; then again, not many 70+ year old men were raised by a billionaire.
There will be a very interesting documentary someday that dissects Trump’s early life and rise to power (if you want to call it that), I’m sure of it. Hopefully that will shed some light on why he is the way he is.
This aggravates me. A guy with no medical training at all, making pronouncements about mental health based on anonymous, supposedly second hand information (or he could have made those sources up), and having previously pronounced the end of the Trump presidency (wrongly) and advised HRCs campaign.
Yeah, me too. Most people on this board know me as an outspoken Trump critic, even a #NeverTrumper, but I have no wish to see the POTUS crazy.
It also aggravates the shit out of me when diagnoses like this are given out in the media by completely unqualified people. I mean, it’s one thing to argue back and forth on here between one another and speculate on things like that, but grossly irresponsible and false to be on national TV promulgating this view based on anonymous and nebulous “sources”. It’s like National Enquirer level BS.
Reports floating around that Tillerson is going to be replaced in the next few weeks at the latest. Given the use of trial balloons by this administration, no idea if it’s true, but wouldn’t be surprised.
I think that’s fair - but given the surreal nonsense and ineptitude in the White House, I’m defining “adult” by a pretty low metric, as in “generally qualified for the job they’ve been given” and “not batshit crazy”.
You are judging Trump’s cabinet harshly as you should. Just reminding everyone that politics is almost never a meritocracy. People rarely get cabinet positions because they’re the best people for the job. If you’re going to throw the whataboutism catch phrase at me here’s one for you: selective moral outrage.
When did I ever defend these individuals aa qualified (or not)?
But, since you raised it, you’re missing the point. Holder and Geithner, as examples, were qualified. You just don’t like their politics. That’s not the same as being qualified.
Geithner didn’t pay his own taxes. Sort of disqualifying for a Treasury Secretary. Also I never implied that anyone here supported O’s appointees. Merely pointing out that cabinet members are rarely qualified for their jobs. It’s politics.
Maybe I missed it, but my comment was directed towards a business author making a psychiatric diagnosis on TV while citing various “anonymous sources”. Trump tweets elephant shit every day, I’m not following.
