Trump: The First Year

The real funny part is that they are winning the war on free speech.

I’ll take people who don’t understand sarcasm for 1000 points Alex. I jumped in the middle of everyone arguing about it to say dude we fucked up big time by these two I’ll give something up to fix that! And you swoop in with ā€œhe must be 100% serious he’s just like lefties sacrificing derp derp.

Why so serious?

Must be a heck of a time. ā€œHey the leader of the free world is off golfing again in Florida again which is exactly what he said he wouldn’t do. And now he’s tweeting about morning talk show ratings, belittling his attorney general, and saying a reality tv show sucks.ā€

We showed those libs! Best time ever. Who cares how he makes us look or what he says because none of that matters because he trolls the other side!

I’m not serious. I’m just grilling you a little on a knee jerk reaction that results in forfeiture of rights.

It seems to be happening a lot these days.

Is your identity inextricably tied to who you voted for?

Thats sad.

I hope not I voted for Johnson and he lost big time!

How he makes us look was America not individual voters

I don’t remember agreeing with you this often…

Who changed, me or you?

Ahh. One of my brothers voted for Johnson. He likes him in principal, and really wants a 3rd party, as he is among many that were basically left for dead by the Dems. On left/right orientation, he’s very similar to me, which is just a couple of clicks off from center. Main difference between me and him is that he’s relatively sensible, whereas I’m more of a ā€œhold my beerā€ kind of guy.

Take Pennsylvania Republicans for example. The state is nearly unbreakably blue because of Pittsburgh and Philly. PA’s electoral votes have gone to dems in the past 6 presidential elections.

So now that a Republican vote for president came through the state legislatures decide to prevent that in the future.

The Democrats failed this last cycle with blue wall voters. So instead of developing a strategy to get them back they’ve proposed a way to neutralize them instead.

How dare those peasants disagree with New York, California and Washington voters anyway.

One more time.

If PA participated in the Compact, and the GOP candidate received the majority of the popular vote, then all of those ā€œunbreakably blueā€ PA electoral votes would go to the R, despite the fact that the PA vote would very likely have gone for the D. This possibility would provide motivation for PA’s R voters to vote despite the fact that their state is (almost always) a foregone-conclusion blue state, because their votes would contribute to the popular total for the R candidate.

Sounds like the opposite of R neutralization to me.

Right. When combined with DACA, open borders and free stuff (Democrat platform) it equals no Rep presidents ever again.

If the GOP doesn’t hop off the train hurtling toward Crazytown, that’s going to come to pass anyway. The GOP is one state away (that being Texas) from never again winning a POTUS election.

I think the forum changed. It seems like some of the more extreme posters are gone. They created a toxic environment.

I love this Republican talking point.

If this is part of the Democratic platform then they suck at delivering it. Pretty much the top 9 states reliant on federal aid never vote blue in recent Presidential elections.

Pretty sure the Republican president ran a lot on free stuff as well. Free border wall paid for by Mexicans. Won’t touch Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security. Health care promises.

Said he wouldn’t take a vacation but that’s not free stuff just a lie.

The biggest free stuff states ain’t blue and haven’t been in recent history.

Couldn’t agree more. Less people posting but not as many loonies. If you take away me of course

New deal, great society, ACA all democrats bro.

You are faulting the Republicans for not having the spine to take away entitlements once Democrats invent them. They are guilty on that charge. But the social safety hammock was brought to us by the Democrats. Free stuff is always very popular.

It looks like we may soon have a Senator Romney.

I wonder which Romney you’ll get–the one who spoke out boldly against candidate Trump, or the one who humiliated himself by toady-ing up to POTUS-elect Trump in an utterly futile bid to become SoS?

Hope it’s the first version, but can’t help but note we haven’t heard from that guy in a while.

Me too. If he runs, I don’t think he can loose.

Hatch is such a senior/ powerful person. Romney would certainly come in as a more experienced statesman. I’d guess he’d have more sway in the Senate than your typical junior senator.

Yup. He’s a former GOP POTUS nominee. You can’t get much more ā€˜elder statesman’ than that.

@ elder statesman. She recently announced that she’ll run again. If re-elected, she’ll be 84, and 91 by the time her next term ends.

From my point of view, there are worse things. CA would likely vote for someone closer to Elizabeth Warren on the left to right scale.
