Trump: The First Year

No idea. Kids get cancer. Kids are born with disabilities. Kids are born with severe food allergies. Kids are born with spina bifida, heart defects, and many more. It’s not just birth. A 12 year old gets leukemia. A 15 year old gets testicular cancer.

Your message to these families is you expect too much from health care and you haven’t put enough into maintaining your own health?

Both of my daughters were born ~6 weeks early due to my wife having high blood pressure while pregnant (turns out it was genetic from her father’s side of the family).

NICU bill in total was ~80k for the first, and ~120k for the second.

Sigh…

Two bills introduced & brought to vote and now an EO is, without question, attempting maintenance. To deny this, in my opinion, is unreasonable and likely tribalism.

yeah

Sigh again. The party is NOT one congruent entity that exists as one willful being. It is a collection of many people with many opinions.

Bills brought up to vote, that weren’t full repeals is maintenance. That SOME people in the party may or may not refuse to yea them, for whatever reason is completely irrelevant to their being in existence.

What you’re doing is either trying to defend a phrase that was, empirically incorrect (it’s okay to be wrong, I know it’s hard to admit, but it’s okay) via semantics and introducing things into the conversation that aren’t relevant to the correctness of the statement…

OR

You’re trying to spin the truth into some republican bashing narrative via conflating two separate issues I’ve touched on.

If you’re interested in the later, have at it. I’m not going to stop you. Hate on them all you want. But that isn’t what I’m posting here for, so I’ll not be party to it.

@countingbeans
Totally off topic…

Do you have any resources for determining when states sales tax needs to be collected? Long story short, I’m starting an e-commerce store (an LLC) organized in Texas. One of the partners is located there and is our registered agent, I’m in MD, and the other partner is in Colorado. We’re using supply chain/fulfillment services out of California for now (they automatically collect sales tax for orders originating in CA). I’ve set our Shopify store up to collect for orders originating in Texas. My main concern is MD and CO, though.

PS, just for you

You believe the EO is attempting maintenance? When it’s clearly designed to tank Ocare and force Congress’ hand?

Guess we’ll have to agree to disagree re: maintenance .

Same as above.

Since you live in a world where any action that isn’t full repeal = maintenance, we’ll have to continue with our theme to agree to disagree here.

SIGH. Or, as is very obvious to anyone using common sense, each bill AND the EO have been tailormade to put Ocare into a faster downward spiral so the masses will eat the shittier substitute with less chaser.

Not everyone that disagrees with you is trying to “spin the truth.” You’re nowhere near smart enough to make that claim.

Because only white people are racist? Is that what you’re implying?

So, when black supremists fellate themselves when Obama was elected, does that make Obama racist?

It’s not the America we lived in prior to the ACA… Stop with the emotional appeals.

A good or service can’t not be “well-suited” for the free market. Because goods and services ARE the market.

What I’m NOT saying before dude comes and white knights me pointing out when you use poor phrasing: I am NOT making judgements as to the amount of, if any, government regulation or interference is correct. I am NOT saying that what you’re trying to say isn’t correct.

I AM saying: the words you are using here are silly, and shouldn’t be repeated, as your point would be better made with a different phrase.

The CYA answer: collect it, and pay it if a state has it and you sell something taxable in that state.

You’re also likely going to have to file in all these states as well, income tax wise. Are you all individuals in the LLC or is anyone layered?

Obviously.

Is this opinion or fact. If fact, source to each provision that does this please.

If it was tailormade this should be very easy to do.

Good thing I made no such claim. I made a claim specific to YOU, not everyone.

Not sure how it is remotely possible to come to that conclusion, but no I don’t think only white people are racist.

Goods and services are most emphatically not the market. The market is an emergent phenomenon whose existence requires the presence of both supply (ie, goods and services) and demand. You could deposit an enormous pile of flat-screen TVs on the moon, but that wouldn’t create a ‘TV market’ there.

Of late, you’ve struck me as somewhat fixated on pedantic peripheral issues (eg, ‘phrasing’). Seems like a waste of time and bandwidth to me, especially when your attempts at pedantry are wrong.

I live in a world where my opinion of a thing doesn’t change what that thing is or isn’t.

I also live in a world where I don’t see evil lurking within the actions of everything the GOP does.

My understanding of the bills and EO is to fix perceived problems (whether or not those intruding the bills have the “correct” perception of a problem is another post entirely). I could be wrong, yes. You’ve made a claim they were specifically to destroy the ACA. If you can prove that with empirical evidence, I’ll reconsider whether or not the bills and EO are (as they stand) maintenance (irrelevant if they will work, the point being it is maintenance) or were torpedo’s.

umm… via:

Trump didn’t get nearly enough of the non-white vote for “most racists” to be Trump supporters.

Hence my confusion.

lmao at completely contradicting yourself in the course of 27 words.

Words matter… Sorry

Obviously.

That’s a statement of opinion and a wrong one, as you’ve pointed out in the same post. But I’ll give you that I should have added “a part of” after ARE in the last time I pointed out your poopoo phrasing.

Or maybe “a necessary part of”

But fair point, and I should have used more words to better describe the situation. Either way, you’ve proven my point (both of them actually) here, so thanks.

Opinion, as is your argument.

My apologies. Allow me to phrase.

My view is neither me trying to spin the truth, nor is it defending an empirically incorrect phrase. You’re not smart enough to make those the only 2 options.

edit: i can’t spell

Yeah, self-contradiction can seem to occur when someone cuts your statement in half.

So now I’m not contradicting myself. That was fast.

Not sure what points you’re referring to, but as this statement has more than a whiff of troll to it, I won’t bother to pursue.

The EO is attempting to hold O’care to the law as written. A federal court ruled those extra payments to insurers were unconstitutional because all spending has to originate in Congress. The Obama administration ignored that ruling and made the payments anyway. Ironically Trump is using an executive order to bring the govt into compliance with a federal court… seems backwards.

There are lot of injustices that were the norm in America that I don’t care to go back to, maybe you do. If so voting for trump is a good move on your part.

I don’t necessarily disagree with the concept of the EO. But the INTENT is very very very obviously to force Congress’ hand and create a landscape for a replacement to be passed without the public shitting as many bricks.

I’m not really in the market of caring if anyone agrees with me on this score however (this is not directed at you, BG).

No. Sometimes, bad things happen. With everyone seemingly in favor of helping the victims of those instances, it should be no problem to gather the funds to pay for them without using government force, right? I bet it would be possible to help kids born with problems even without funding emergency room visits for people that have a cough.

If you were the parent, would you be willing to risk your child’s life on that hunch?
