It seems I found a few speeches where she speaks to inspire Black children. I’m sure I could find more.
It’s interesting that anytime we use a platform to talk about something other than the vast amounts of opportunity in America, conservatives get upset…any reason as to why?
You claim there is racism, and that you’re not racist, but you get upset when people talk about racism. Does that make any sense?
What about the ‘Let Girls Learn’ and ‘My Brother’s Keeper’ initiatives? If we talk about those positive uplifting programs for black youth first…then can we talk about racism?
It’s like the people that were upset about Kaepernick kneeling during the National Anthem: “People shouldn’t walk down the street peacfully and protest, they shouldn’t riot, they shouldn’t peacefully interrupt Trump rallies, or Sanders rallies, or Clinton rallies.” So he knelt during the National Anthem and that made people even more mad lol. Let’s be honest, there is no “appropriate” way to protest to make conservatives happy, you just don’t want to see people protest…period. Just like you don’t want to hear people talk about racism.
That’s is one of the main reasons Blacks will not vote for conservatives in this country
And it’s funny because we don’t like to talk about racism. It’s not like talking about injustices out of your control really gets you excited about going out and seizing the day a la Carpe Diem. It’s just something that exists…that we deal with.
This was sarcasm hence the winky face at the end of the original post.
You actually made me watch Michelle Obama and for that we are now mortal enemies and will battle it out here on T Nation for eternity or until one of us passes away from natural causes. Cheer up though I am older than you so the odds are you will be posting here long after I am gone and people are saying “remember that Zeb guy…yeah I hated him.”
Seriously, I did watch one of the videos and she was inspiring black youth and I am glad I got to see it. But, it was about her wacky lunch program. But even so not one word of how the US is racist (which it is not). I think she should do more of these…oh wait she won’t be first lady any longer in 16 days.
YIPEE YAHOO AHHAHAHAH I IM SO FREAKING HAPPY…
Seriously, I hope she can stay proud of her country even though she said when Trump was elected that “there is no hope any longer”. Hmm…no hope because a woman lost, or no hope because a black man is no longer President?
Yeah…could you post at least 19 videos where she said the opposite? That would make me feel better. It wouldn’t cover up her comment about Trump, or about the first time she was proud to be an American was when her husband was elected. But it will nonetheless be entertaining.
Thank you for your time. Please pick up a gift bag at the door from the secretary,
Sierra fucking Leone? Seriously? Do you know ANYTHING about Sierra Leone?
I know a guy who served in the UN peacekeeping mission in Sierra Leone. He told me everyone is on brown-brown and has a gun or a machete which they often use…
Well, maintaining an ethnic majority isn’t an expression of superiority, because that maintenance may not be driven by intent.
If someone has an intent to maintain an ethnic majority and wants to take some affirmative action to keep other races from endangering the majority, yes, that is supremacist.
I don’t have to consider those countries “supremacist” simply on their having a large ethnic majority. That’s dumb.
Do you feel that you have overcome all of the **'ism**s (sex, race, religious, economic, intelligence) to a point that you no longer see any of the differences as either a positive or negative?
It’s pretty easy to tell the difference between one person’s intelligence and another’s, but that doesn’t automatically equate to inferiority unless you are looking at a single variable (like IQ), which wouldn’t be very intelligent…
We can easily point to differences between religions.
What can a white person do that a black person can’t? What can Japanese men do that Indian’s can’t? What can the Irish do that the Brazilian’s can’t?
I don’t know who you directed this at, but, at least for me, it isn’t about overcoming “all of the 'isms”. Identifying differences between people is natural. It’s the understanding that most of the differences between races are superficial and that they shouldn’t be used as a justification to treat one as inferior to another.
My point isn’t that we can’t detect differences, but do we give or take away points mentally when encountered.
Does one ever think ‘Women can’t run things like a man’, or ‘That church has it all wrong, unlike mine.’, or ‘I want a house in this better neighborhood, because that school has too many minorities’.
Acceptance of diversity is preached along with the equality of those diverse components. But I’m not sure how many in the congregation really are transformed by the notion.
LOL are you married? If so, please tell me how your spouse manages.
You asked me out so it’s only fair you buy…but you pay a lot more in tax than my 8-months-removed from school income level does, so maybe it’s only fair I buy.
You’re using the term “we” pretty liberally. If I see a black guy I don’t think, “I bet that guy is both lazy and dumb because he’s black.” Or, if I see an Asian I don’t think, “Damn, I bet that dude is way better at math than me.” However, if I see a black, white, Chinese, Indian, or Mexican with their pants around their knees, a giant gold chain dangling from their neck, and a nose piercing then, ya, I think they’re a probably a dumbass. It’s not because of their color or race, though.
Some people do, sure.
Some really smart guy once said something along the lines of, you should judge a man by the content of their character not the color of their skin. Skin pigmentation has zero to do with what type of person a man or woman is.
I’m not really sure what you’re saying here, but the fact that some people think others are inferior because they’re born a shade darker doesn’t mean people born a shade darker are actually inferior.
