Going to war with another country is an artificial way to stimulate the economy because wealth is not being created, the US is just taking on more debt. Taking on more debt to stimulate the economy is the equivalent of taking blood from your leg and then injecting it into your arm while spilling a bunch of blood in the process. There is no reason to believe starting a war with another country, especially one with nuclear capabilities will stimulate the economy.
The Iraq and Afghanistan war have cost the US trillions in debt.
He knows as much as; maybe even more; than most people about most things.
He makes decisions from the “gut”; and
He will do (against all advice to the contrary) what he wants to do. (e.g. Tweeting).
Successfully erecting hotels across the world requires heeding the advice of hundreds of different experts. There’s decade of evidence of him taking advice.
Who exactly is he not listening to?

This is not the profile of a person who heeds much advice from anyone (and he showed that throughout the campaign).
There are multiple examples I can think of him taking advice during the campaign.
He fired Corey Leandowski his close friend at the advice of his children
After saying Apple should release the muslim terrorists phone information was seen as unpopular, he never brought it up again. He clearly dropped it because he listened to the advice of others.
I noticed after Paul Manafort was hired he relied a lot more on teleprompters instead of only going off the cuff. This is a likely indication he took advice

What he does or doesn’t do with a hotel, casino or a golf course is of no concern of mine. However; he is about to become the Leader if the Free World.
If that’s where the bulk of his life experience is, it would be a good indicator of how he would make decisions as President to some degree.
Nor was it ‘Donald.’ The book was written by Tony Schwartz, who has since come clean about the process, and what he learned about Trump:
“I put lipstick on a pig,” he said. “I feel a deep sense of remorse that I contributed to presenting Trump in a way that brought him wider attention and made him more appealing than he is.” He went on, “I genuinely believe that if Trump wins and gets the nuclear codes there is an excellent possibility it will lead to the end of civilization.”
If he were writing “The Art of the Deal” today, Schwartz said, it would be a very different book with a very different title. Asked what he would call it, he answered, “The Sociopath.”
You don’t think someone who has made hundreds of successful deals and made billions in the process doesn’t innately understand people better than a community organizer who was a Senator for two years before throwing his hat in the ring for President? Keep in mind this is someone who has sucked off the public dole practically all his adult life.
I guess if you worship at the feet of politicians and bureaucrats that’s what you would think.
Yes and I believe every word out of the mans mouth. I know for sure he is not doing it to capitalize on Trump’s new found fame. He is a straight shooter who has suddenly become patriotic. LOL
Oh by the way on an unrelated note I have been doing eye exercises all my life and my wife says that I am wasting my time. But, I do not wear glasses and still have 20/20 vision and my wife does wear glasses. So settle this for us once and for all. Do eye exercises improve vision, or am I simply blessed with good genetics helped by a great diet?
I’m rather skeptical that there is such agreement among geneticists. There may not be a single gene that denotes race (almost certainly isn’t), and there are probably gray areas between races, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a genetic basis to the fact that Will Smith looks black and Brad Pitt looks white.
There is a different standard of proof required depending on whether or not it might be rational to believe something and whether or not it should be acted upon. Jews aside, it’s not irrational to believe that black people might be better on average at basketball. It’s fairly difficult to prove conclusively, but I wouldn’t fault someone for believing it.
That’s all my original point is. By your definition of racism, a person who believes that blacks are significantly better at basketball genetically would be characterized as a racist. But that person might also be right. So by your definition of racism, some racists might be right. I think that is significant.
So you acknowledge that your comment is actually superfluous to this discussion?
As I said above, if a geneticist can’t explain to me why Will Smith and Brad Pitt look different, I question his ability to fully understand the human genome.
This, I think, is a great question. Fundamentally, I don’t think that race is different than hair color. It’s just that if someone came to me and said that people with brown hair were on average richer, I wouldn’t necessarily assume there was an external bias against people with brown hair. It might be that brown haired people are more hard working or more capable. Of course, it’s doubtful that hair color itself affects those things, but certain genes are often correlated with other genes
I don’t recommend any action at all on the basis of race. Race as it is understood and identified by the majority of the population is correlated with many, many characteristics. But when someone suggests action to overcome a bias, the burden is on that person to prove that the bias is not a result of genetics. Going to back to electrical engineers for a second. The null hypothesis is that asian and white men are either more capable or more motivated in the area of electrical engineering. In order to justify taking systemic action to make the population of electrical engineers reflect the population at large, that null hypothesis needs to be disproven.
It wasn’t so much that Trump was underestimated as it was the electorate was overestimated.
‘Understands people’ better? No, I don’t think so. Although I would agree that Trump may well be better at ‘reading’ people than Obama. But I would disagree that this is necessarily a desirable quality in a POTUS.
You would have preferred that we go to war with Putin over Syria? What would be our long-term goal–our objective? There were no good solutions in Syria. There are no good solutions in Syria.
You are blessed (in terms of eye genetics, not political judgment).
Now let’s be fair. The RNC didn’t want him the DNC and the powerful Clinton machine tried to crush him. His 16 republican opponents certainly tried to defeat him. And (I know you are honest enough to admit this) most of the media wanted to destroy him. AND…he is our next President. There might be something going on with Trump that you (and probably me as well) just don’t understand.
Reading people is a very desirable trait to have in a President. What if Neville Chamberlain had read Adolf Hitler correctly. Come on now…give him his due.
