Then maybe it’s best to de-escalate things done by the Democrats - Clinton pushing for No-Fly Zones in Syria, accusation of Russian hacking without any evidence and now the expelling of Russian diplomats from America.
I don’t think Americans want another war (currently bombing 7 different countries) especially one with a large military that has nuclear capabilities.
Because things are clearly escalating between Russia and USA. You know that Russia called it’s foreign citizens abroad to come Home right? You know they’re practising evacuation and nuclear drills right?
Again I don’t agree with Putins actions but unless you want US intervention the best thing Trump can do is deescalate things.
First, I have to point out that if it were Obama taking these actions, they would be labeled ‘appeasement,’ not ‘de-escalation’ (See Iran nuclear agreement, Obama and).
Second, Putin’s goals are 1) re-constitute the Soviet Union; 2) disarm Poland; 3) break up the EU; and 4) dissolve NATO. My question is, how much are you willing to acquiesce to him?
If Obama did something even just similar to what Trump is doing (i.e. criticizing American institutions; showing utter disrespect for an outgoing American President while praising a dictator and International Thug; FOX and the Conservative BLOG-osphere would be going bat-shit crazy.
“Warmonger Eisenhower/Kennedy/Reagan and his imperialist cabal are stoking the flames of war” was pretty much the obligatory mantra in every Pravda editor column during the Cold War.
It’s amazing how self proclaimed American patriots are blindly swallowing the 21st century updated version of Soviet agitprop.
The periods of US active involvement in world affairs (not senseless wars, mind you) closely correlate with periods of economic development, and vice versa. You know, back when America was great.
Many scholars have argued that a foreign intervention - against Barbary pirates - laid the foundations future social and economic development of the US.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin on Russian TV Zvezda’s morning show ten minutes ago:
“The next crucial moment is the Senate vote on Rex Tillerson’s appointment as Secretary of State. We will offer all possible assistance and coordinate steps with the Trump administration”
I’m not quite sure about the clarification you need.
Trump has already made three things very clear:
He knows as much as; maybe even more; than most people about most things.
He makes decisions from the “gut”; and
He will do (against all advice to the contrary) what he wants to do. (e.g. Tweeting).
This is not the profile of a person who heeds much advice from anyone (and he showed that throughout the campaign).
What he does or doesn’t do with a hotel, casino or a golf course is of no concern of mine. However; he is about to become the Leader if the Free World.
Taking advice; and HEEDING that advice will be paramount.
Neither do I. What I do think is that, in the face of Russian aggression against a NATO member (almost assuredly one of the Baltic states), Trump will fail to honor Article 5 of the Charter. Instead, he will argue that the Russian pretext (ie, whatever trumped-up nonsense Putin gives for justifying the aggression) is valid, and thus a NATO response is unwarranted. And this will mark the beginning of the end of NATO.
Oh I think CBS “gets it” they tried as hard as they could with biased moderator Lester Holt to help Hillary. It didn’t work. As for CNN they gave Hillary debate questions ahead of her debate with Uncle Bernie the Socialist. It wasn’t enough that the DNC was doing all they could to help Hillary CNN piled on as well.
Mufasa: “Oh Zeb I just can’t wait until Trump makes America great again”
No, that’s not the narrative that the left wants to write. Here let me do it for you: “Trump is obviously too stupid to understand that Putin is our enemy and Trump is being manipulated by Putin. That Trump just does not understand Foreign police like Barack Obama does.”
There you go.
Now how many lines did Obama draw in the sand that our enemies crossed while laughing at him? In fact, Obama has made Putin king of the Middle East…shh we don’t talk about reality in front of the left.
Stupid is such a harsh word…Let’s go with credulous instead.
Obama has been POTUS for 8 years. Trump has never served in office in any capacity. Would you really suggest Trump understands foreign policy (which is what I assume you meant to write) as well as Obama?
That’s because you don’t really know who Trump is yet. As we speak the charade that is going on between Trump and Putin has been orchestrated not by Putin but by Trump. Trump is playing a game with Putin and no doubt Putin (like the left in the US) thinks that he is manipulating Trump. Doubters must keep in mind who wrote “The Art Of The Deal”. Here’s a clue the persons first name was not “Vladimir”.
I wonder how the media will react when Trump draws a line in the sand with Putin and then backs it up?
I can hear them now: “Trump is a dangerous President who wants to get us into WW III. He should have used more diplomacy with Russia and Putin.”
IDIOTS!
Trump was underestimated by everyone during the primary and again during the general election. He defeated his own party big wigs, the DNC, the left wing media, 16 republican opponents and the massively destructive Clinton machine.
But…
what’s happening now? The boobs in the press are once again underestimating him and his relationship with Putin.
