Trump: The First 100 Days

My opinion: start acting like CEO of the world’s biggest operation and let your 15 - 20 COOs work the plan. It isn’t a 3 man retail store where you have to wear every hat, particularly since most of them don’t actually fit you. I will cop out with an Incomplete until there is some realistic time frame other than 100 days where 1/2 was spent just trying to get Cabinet approved.

Democrat pollster’s opinion following.

Except that Biden never said what they claimed he said.

The administration could knock the legs out from under it if they would simply come clean. Instead it’s drip, drip, drip…

It’s worse than that–he’s miserable. He hates being POTUS.

Seriously? You saw what happened when we had 8 years of a President who didn’t want lead. Those problems that are so very many miles away now WILL be on our doorstep if we leave a void on the world stage.

Like all politicians he will pretty much do and say whatever it takes to get elected and then reelected. If you think he’s having these rallies because he doesn’t have anything else to do you’d miss your guess. He’s never left campaign mode. And if I had his numbers with an exceptionally hostile media I’d be doing the same thing.

He’s trying to drive a wedge between the news media and his supporters and it’s working quite well…so far. If he does a good job and also keeps states like PA, WI Fla. Ohio and a few other key states happy he will be reelected. Certainly too soon to make any predictions but he knows what he has to do and so does his team.

I’m not sure what you are claiming “they” said. But here is what he said. The first 25 seconds are pretty clear:

I think you want him to be miserable but I respectfully disagree with you.

You are not reading that correctly. The man loves power, loves attention and always wants to be at the center of the action. He loves being President and he will run for reelection…bet? I’m not yet saying he will win but he will run.

Obama was the most hawkish president in history. No other president has been at war everyday of his presidency but him.

How?

The US has the benefit of being thousands of miles away separated by water and land.

Why is it the US’s duty to be the world’s policeman?

"Conservatives quickly pounced on the clip and used it as evidence to argue that Congressional Republicans are following long-standing precedent in refusing to consider President Obama’s nomination to fill the seat of Justice Antonin Scalia until a new president takes the oath in January of 2017.

But Biden’s full speech undermines their claim. Rather than urging his colleagues to deny Bush’s potential nominee a hearing, Biden was bemoaning the politicization of the confirmation process — hence his suggestion of not holding a hearing in the heat of a presidential election — and what he saw as Bush’s refusal to properly consult with the Senate in selecting a nominee. In fact, just 10 minutes after calling for temporary inaction on Bush’s candidate, Biden actually promised to consider a moderate Supreme Court nominee.

“I believe that so long as the public continues to split its confidence between the branches, compromise is the responsible course both for the White House and for the Senate,” he said. “Therefore I stand by my position, Mr. President, if the President [George H.W. Bush] consults and cooperates with the Senate or moderates his selections absent consultation, then his nominees may enjoy my support as did Justices Kennedy and Souter.” [emphasis mine]

And yet he will run for reelection…bet?

Edit: It’s funny that the lefties say Trump is dishonest. He’s simply being candid when he says that the job was harder than he thought. He has less freedom than he did in his previous life. He also said there’s a lot of work but he likes to work so that’s no problem.

I think you are taking this and running with it. I am not reading this the way you are.

Anyway…he will run again…

You are obviously a Libertarian. I’m not going to go down the road of demonstrating how important a US presence in the world is to you. You are an isolationist.

Good luck with that and I thank God that we have never had and likely will never have a Libertarian President.

Too early to know. Ask me again in a couple of years (if he hasn’t been impeached, or resigned).

Reasonable people are incredulous that he didn’t know what everyone else knew–that being POTUS was hard. Same goes for the complexity of health care. That’s incorrect, Mr. President. EVERYONE knew health care could be so complicated.

I don’t think he likes to work. Just my opinion.

Agreed, which is why he has to go get the political equivalent of a cortisone shot by having rallies when the going gets tough. My biggest concern is when, not if, we’re faced with a legitimate crisis, which will obviously require focus and appetite for attention to detail.

We can bet on that as well. Trump will not be impeached nor will he resign…Bet?

There’s a difference between “harder than I thought” and not knowing it was hard.

Your hate for Trump is coloring your judgment. Of course you don’t think he likes to work. You think he’s lazy and stupid. And you think these things because you don’t like him. You thought Obama was brilliant based on what? The way he stammered when he talked? The fact that he locked down his college grades so no one could see them? There was talk of him not attending security briefings…feeling bored and not engaged. Seems to me if he were a republican with a different agenda you would have thought that he was stupid and lazy as well… BUT…he’s a democrat so you can disregard all of those feelings right?

The fact is neither Trump or Obama are stupid people.

Yes, someone wanted everything handed to him for free. Taking other peoples money is always easier than making it yourself…

If I was certain enough to bet, I would have written When he has been impeached/resigned–not if. And if I may offer a personal observation: You are misapplying this ‘Wanna bet?’ rhetorical gambit.

Why you’re carrying his water on this issue, I have no idea.

I don’t hate Trump. I feel contempt for him.

You are arguing with yourself. I never claimed or suggested he was stupid.

Don’t know if this is directed at me, but if it was–I didn’t support Sanders in the primary. Although I will say he’d be infinitely preferable to Trump.

Naw…just trying to goad you a bit. I like to push the Trump haters into doing stupid things. It works about 70% of the time. It’s the hate that drives the bet. You hate him no question but you are still semi-reasonable and won’t be goaded. Good for you.

This particular point is not about carrying water it is about accuracy.

If someone entered law school expecting it to be “hard” and then said “this is harder than I thought” would you say the person is stupid, or misjudged, or would you draw a distinction between the person thinking it was going to be difficult and then the person admitting (honestly) that it was even more difficult than he originally thought? What you and others are trying to say is that Trump didn’t know the job was difficult and that is simply not accurate.

I get that you hate him but you need to be smarter with your hate. For example, how about Trump tweeting incessantly and sometimes at 4AM. And Trump appointing his son in law to a high level position. Now if you had said either of those two things (and a bunch more) I would not have said a word. In fact, I might have posted that I agree with you. And since I brought it up you can be sure that I would have agreed with you.

But this other nonsense about Trump being lazy and stupid…it’s just your hate coming out in inaccurate ways.

One synonym for contempt is “hate”. Why don’t you just embrace your hate? You can join the loony left and go march in the street and break windows. No…that’s not your style. You’re too old and wise for that as you would fear Police retribution. Why don’t you just get on a message board and attack him there…oops. Actually all kidding aside I understand how you feel. It’s frustrating when someone you do not agree with or respect (all hate aside) becomes President. I know I lived with it for 8 years…trust me you will get used to disagreeing with everything the POTUS says and does. After a while it won’t bother you as much. But before that it will bother you a great deal. Keep venting right here on T Nation it is therapeutic.

That was not at all aimed at you. But since you just admitted that Bernie would be better than Trump …Now I know you hate him.
