Trump: The First 100 Days

You love playing the race card but my statement said nothing about race now did it?

I said: “MANY of the core constituency are welfare recipients, unemployed and those on food stamps” .

Then I went on to say there were other constituents such as teachers unions, University Professors etc.

To your other point. I never said that certain other groups have not at some point benefitted from some sort of government program. This is you using the straw man approach which is obvious and ineffective.

Those who are on government programs on a REGULAR basis mostly vote democrat. If you want to attack that statement feel free to try.

You have yet to prove me wrong. And in fact every statistic that can be brought to bear in this argument will only bolster my point. Inferring that I am a racist, while part of the democrat playbook, is not going to get you anywhere.

OK, let’s review your comments thus far:

Now, you can protest that you were not playing the race card if you want, but we all know you were…we know…and so do you.

Actually, the way this whole ‘discussion’ thing works is, if you want to make an empirical claim such as this, the onus is on you to support it, not on me to refute it. So if you want to support that statement feel free to try.

You mean, implying that you are a racist. More precisely, in making the above statement, you are inferring that I am implying that you are a racist.

Let’s not forget ole Mick28’s delightful quips about race in PWI.

Replying to a thread titled “Barack the Magic Negro,” take it away, Mick/Zeb:

I really hate that word. I think in this day and age we can think of a better word than…magic. I mean, it’s so over used.

Race card? Zeb? Surely you jest.

You are implying that the only people who are unemployed, on welfare or food stamps are black people?

You sound like a racist to me.

Here’s the thing Zeb, and I hate to be the guy that breaks it to you, but here goes:

It’s a pretty well known fact 'round here that you hate white people.
And thats racist! :rage:

LOL…you got me.

Actually the only people that I really hate are politicians. And I wouldn’t call it hate as much as I would disgust.

Amen and they probably never will…at least not until PlayStation tv, Netflix, Hulu, and Chromecast (and now SlingTv) cripple their budgets and market share even more.

I can’t wait for the day that happens, and I don’t even watch tv any more except sports (Hurray March Madness!)

pfury…

I mentioned this on another thread and talk about it with friends all the time…

Within the next 5 years (and it’s already started)…we will see a paradigm shift in the way people view entertainment that will rival what we saw in the Publishing and Music industry.

There is no way in hell millennials (and the generations after)…are going to pay $150 to 250 to $300-plus per month for Cable and Satellite. And they don’t give a shit about whether or not they see things Live/in-real time.

I think that unless they adapt in some way…we may see whole industries disappear…and if not, see a complete 360 in their overall business models.

That is an interesting prediction Mufasa. What do you think will replace the standard entertainment mediums?

Much of TV is also unwatchable when you see the liberal narrative embedded into practically every show

Great question, Zeb.

All you hear NOW (by the industry WONKS) is that it’s all about content…not how it’s delivered.

Now…what that means is anyone guess!

Think about this…in 1990…could any of you alive then (a few of us!)…imagined downloadable music and books? Or “Star-Trek Like” Communicators (Smartphones) being used by 2-year olds to play games?

Its mind-boggling.

Recent tweet I saw: “Geert Wilders, racist politician and Max Headroom plastic surgery victim, has lost Dutch prime minister election.”

Fuck no. I wouldn’t pay anything close to $100 for TV let alone 200+! I don’t know what they think the generation that gave us Napster, Limewire, and all the rest will pay (of which I was an early adopter) lol. I’m still hacked that my cell phone line and data costs 45/month.

Fucking $150 a month is a round trip ticket for a vacation in 2-4 months depending on where you’re headed. Hmmm…let’s see, would I rather have 300 channels of garbage or a round trip ticket for Vegas/Florida/Washington/anywhere else? Easy choice.

Fuck, what you pay in one year of that stuff you could set up a mountaineering equipment supply that could last you 10 years.

I wonder if this is hurting Echo sales. This was very, very funny.

"A woman, off-camera, asks Amazon’s Alexa — via an Echo Dot — if it will lie to her. Alexa responds in the negative — “I’m not always right, but I would never intentionally lie.” Then she asks Alexa to define the CIA for her, which Alexa does. Then it gets suspicious:

Speaker: “Alexa, are you connected to the CIA?”
Echo: [light blinks briefly, unit goes silent]"

Is my Sony safe then? Whew! I was worried, then I wondered if maybe I should disrobe in front of the TV more often. Those poor CIA guys have got to be so bored watching my house. I wonder if they’re critiquing my kettle bell swings.

Movie for the weekend, Stakeout, 1987, with Richard Dreyfuss.

I had completely forgotten about that; great movie.

F-bomb? Never heard of it.

@Mufasa I think that the most important element in this paradigm shift has been breaking the time constraints. Now you can watch what you want, when you want to- almost anywhere. (yeesh, that sounds like shilling).

I was thinking about that the other day when you posted about it in the other thread. Amazing how that breaks things open. I can remember watching stuff as a kid at the same time, same night, for years on end and you could literally set your watch by it.

Now I’ll just catch it on demand or when it comes on netflix, and even youtube is coming on strong with streaming live broadcasts.
