Here’s a summary of wire taps the Obama Administration has done in the past:
And the FISC authorized the tapping on this basis?
Thanks, pfury…perhaps “tactical” is a better word.
The guess the point I was trying to make was that she tends to “think through” her arguments…except when it comes to Trump.
She reverts to Obama comparisons; diversions; and flat-out incorrect statements.
In the past…she just didn’t seem to be the one to simply “jump on the Bandwagon”.
Noooooo…not a problem at all. I am thrilled that Hillary lost. I knew she would and especially love the way she lost. That is one of the things that has sent the left wing into crazy panic mode. Not only did they lose an election they thought they were going to win…they lost to Donald Trump! Funny stuff.
I will make another one of my “Trump Predictions”:
By the end of his Presidency…Trump will have used more surveillance and “wire tapping” than any President in American History.
His paranoia and vindictiveness is showing though more and more every day.
Just like the presses vendetta against him.
It’s going to be a fun 4 years for sure.
One last comment then I actually have to get some work done. Nothing will come of the alleged Obama wire tapping and nothing will come of the alleged Trump Putin connection. It’s all smoke and mirrors which is part of the…ready? G A M E.
So Flynn’s name was released in a leak by senior NSA/CIA/FBI people, breaking dozens of laws. This was after a phone intercept from the Russian embassy (supposedly). But we have to trust that they say about tapping Trump? I can hear the servers being wiped and the shredders humming now. They won’t make hillary level mistakes.
Trump just should have stayed there: “These agencies are breaking the law and risking national security. Time to clean house.”
Also both sides of this issue have to stop demanding proof and cited sources. There’s no solid proof Trump colluded. There’s no solid proof the spooks were illegally watching Trump. And whatever the truth is we won’t get to see it.
Coulter is a gadfly. She pays her bills by making intentionally outrageous, over-the-top comments crafted to provoke her detractors to the point where they respond (which they inevitably do). This in turn gives her what she needs to get on TV and sell books–ie, publicity.
Knowing that her goal is not contributing to the public discourse, but rather garnering media attention, I cannot take anything she says seriously.
A whole lot of people have praised Wikileaks for illegally obtaining and leaking information about the DNC and Clinton. It’s interesting how the tune has changed now that the shoe is on the other foot. Now it’s about the messenger and not the message. Seems inconsistent.
No, but we certainly shouldn’t trust what comes out of Trump’s twitter feed either, though. Trump is the one making such a bold claim. The onus is on him and his administration to prove it. How exactly is the FBI or DOJ supposed to prove a FISA warrant doesn’t/didn’t exist or that a wiretap doesn’t/didn’t exist?
What, like with a cloth? ![]()
In all seriousness, do you honestly think it’s more likely that a) Obama and his admin colluded with the DOJ, FBI, and FISA court to undermine a candidate that appeared to be headed for a beating of electoral proportion, b) that probable cause existed as grounds for a FISA warrant to surveil Trump, or c) that Trump is just making this up? B & C seem a lot more likely than A to me.
Editted
Desperation is a stinky cologne. This Obama wire tap is just Trumps carnival tactics to try and take focus off Russia. Which won’t work and makes him look more ignorant & proves his instability #sad
The fact that this is happening is laughable. Personally I’m of the opinion that all leaks are good things, but if you’re going to hate on these Trump leaks you sure as shit better have hated wikileaks this whole time as well.
If only the POTUS had the ability to explicitly forbid any tampering with any evidence as well as ordering the right people to retain that proof in an untouchable location so it can’t be deleted. IF ONLY
I agree with your premise except for:
Our DOJ agencies are sworn to uphold our laws. Wikileaks takes no such oath. If they want to break the laws they are sworn to uphold fine, but don’t ask me to trust you afterwards. Also someone should go to jail.
Wikileaks released everything un-editorialized. They actually put the content out there for people to see and make their own decisions. This FBI leak has no transcript or recording. There’s no way for us to dig deeper and get to the content.
If Flynn broke the law he should go to jail as well. But now they likely can’t prosecute effectively because of the leak.
I’m not opposed to pulling back the curtain and watching the cockroaches scurry, regardless of party.
If an agent broke the law then there should be repercussions, agreed. My question would be what law(s) were broken and/or does this fall under the Whistleblower Protection Act and/or PPD-19 About the Department - U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
I think this is basically throwing the baby our with the bathwater. An agent leaks and now the FBI has no credibility? I think that’s a bit much.
Trump administration makes 1500 child sex trafficking arrests in first month. 2014 there were 400 total
Here’s what happened: John Podesta locked himself in the basement of the pizzeria out of which he runs the pedophile ring and, via spirit-cooking, summoned the ghost of Saul Alinsky, Spectralinsky. Spectralisnky called Eric Holder out of retirement for one last job, and the two of them hid out in their favorite bolthole, which, as we all know, is Obama’s birth-hut outside of Nairobi. There they were joined by Jackie from the UVa rape hoax & an army of Fish People who had just narrowly escaped capture by a posse led by Mike Flynn & Alex Jones. Together this group drafted the following request:
“Please can we have an illegal deepstate wiretap for the making of fake news HAIL GLOBALIST SATAN.”
Upon receipt of the request, the presiding FISC justice loudly announced “PROBABLE CAUSE” and banged a gong with the femur of a straight white male whose execution had previously been mandated by an Obamacare Death Panel ™.
On a more serious note, therajraj doesn’t have any idea what you’re talking about. That’s one of the problems here: neither Trump nor his base have ever followed, or even vaguely thought about, any this stuff before. They don’t even know the terms – they’re trying to learn it as they go, and they’re having a hell of a time.
As to the warrant, there seems to me to be a lot of careful, narrow wording afoot, at least on the part of Clapper & the Obama spox. The FISA story has appeared in Heat St., BBC, McClatchy, and (sort of) the NYT, so it’s unclear at this point what’s really going on (given that they knew this was going to be an enormous scandal for Trump, the likelihood that anybody in the Obama WH would have gone about this through illegal channels is close to zero). Was a warrant granted for a Trump biz associate? Were Trump’s people simply calling other people who are themselves targets of FISA collection? Given the separate revelations re: Dutch & British intelligence and the NSA’s corroboration of foreign nationals’ conversations as described in the Steele dossier, this is but another layer about which for Trump supporters to worry.
For now, though, consider the fact, essentially confirmed by the idiots who are supposed to be running the WH comms department, that this comes from a series of humiliatingly stupid and mendacious tweets Trump rage-typed after consuming a dose of Right-Wing-Nutjob media.
Nothing will come of the alleged Obama wire tapping and nothing will come of the alleged Trump Putin connection.
You should be proud: one outta two ain’t bad. Shit, it’d put you in the record book if it were a batting average.
The big one is revealing the name of a US citizen in the wiretap if the wiretap wasn’t specifically warranted for Flynn.
Since they didn’t release the transcripts then we can’t tell if what Flynn is doing was nefarious or not. So our leaker may be protected if Flynn was doing bad things and their supervisor told them to sit on it. That’s what whistleblower laws are for.
But if Flynn wasn’t breaking the law then revealing an existing wiretap to the world and his identity is a no go and he/she likely wouldn’t be protected. That’s assuming of course they ever ferret out the leaker. Which isn’t guaranteed.
Forgive my cynicism when it comes to the secret police. We need intelligence agencies, every nation does. But their nature makes abuse and manipulation very easy.
As an aside I find the whole leak thing is on the other/other foot. Remember when the left loved wikileaks because they published “war crimes” from Iraq? That made Bush look bad. Now wikileaks is a Russian front lol.
It apparently looks bad on Trump that they could obtain a wire tap on him legally.
Well, FISA courts are a little mushy on legality to begin with since they are for the most part secret. Under FISA the AG can conduct surveillance without any type of court order, so yeah if it was legal…
(I know, “you libertarian scum!! FISA is patriotic and you love foreign spys and terrorists!”)
That made Bush look bad. Now wikileaks is a Russian front lol.
lol indeed…
