Trump: The First 100 Days

Ha! No, I haven’t seen it or heard about it, so I wasn’t making any reference to that case. Was this today? I thought you guys were talking about some hypothetical situation, or meme or something. I was talking about serious criminal behavior in general. Agree. I absolutely wouldn’t deport her.

Happened last night. It was on MSNBC nonstop–I can’t believe you missed it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, I recall that from probably hundreds of post above (IOW yesterday).

Do you think a date should be tied to that? Is yesterday as good as 15 years in country?

Good riddance. Next.

When you deport an adult that has citizen children…what happens to the kids?

Take a moment and think about your fellow Americans who are hurt by not deporting these criminals:

Every illegal enrolled in college is a spot that did not go to an American child. They’re now even getting scholarships!

Every dollar spent on limited english illegals in public schools is time and money not spent on an American child. This is a figure in the billions.

Every organ transplant given to an illegal is one not given to an American. There are literally thousands of Americans on organ donor waiting lists

This is a zero sum game. Either you favour the citizens of Mexico or you favour Americans.

I’m assuming they would take their children back with them.

Soccer moms.

When you jail an adult that has children what happens to the kids? Foster care or extended family. In this particular case the kids were older.

You could give the deportee the option of taking their kids to the home country or the ability to designate a legal guardian.

I did.

I have to say, for a guy who complained that “we can’t expect the average voter to overcome the feelz and use reason,” your comments on this subject seem long on ‘feelz’ and short on reason.

One doesn’t have to be a bleeding-heart lib to realize that the undocumented-immigrant issue cannot be addressed by simply endeavoring to round them all up and throw them out. But don’t take it from a lefty like me–consider the issues raised in the thoughtful comments upthread by @anon71262119 (who, although a kind and caring soul, is no bleeding-heart lib).

But when it comes to this issue, your basic premise is spot-on: We need more reason, less feelz.

Let’s allow states to handle immigration in their own ways, and let’s end all federal welfare programs(including the federal government’s involvement in public schools). Doing those two will probably end the immigration problems of the United States.

I’ll have to agree to disagree on this. Any other criminal is fair game for prosecution and punishment. But because they are “desperate decent migrants just trying to make a living” we are supposed to care. No.

If every native citizen has to live under the boot heel of the government from birth to the grave, then so do the illegals. The government takes 50% when I factor in fed/state/local/employment/property etc… taxes. They control the lightbulbs I can buy, the amount of water in my toilet. Etc. When my wife calls me from work and tells me there’s 5 federal agents to interrogate me over our business, which is perfectly legal.

The law should give no extra consideration to people who made the first thing they did in our country a misdemeanor.

You want to find an amnesty solution and write it into law then I will help implement it. But as long as the law says deport, then deport.

One thing to think about is that it may hurt them because their neighbors don’t have the same law, thus a lower barrier next door in some ways.

As for the rest, good post

As a federal LEO, I know that my view is jaded, but, in simple terms what good is it to have immigration laws that are not even remotely inforced? Now, my area of expertise is terrorism, but, do you really have any idea how many “non-latins” cross the border each year? Do you have any idea how many fake documents have been used to obtain an SIV? Do you know there are organized crime units in eastern Europe that are in the sole business of selling fake documentation to anyone with the money? Having worked and trained others, either for the USG or the military in over 30 countries, I can tell you from personal experience, illegal immigration is a very serious affair. Lets see, I illegally enter the US, use a fake SS card, but, I didnt violate the law and should stay? Trying using that reason on France or Israel.

I have no problem with legal immigration, I have a problem with emotion driven decisions that scream for attention like a hungry baby.

Mostly I’m just replying to say ‘Good to see you.’ Seems like it’s been a while.

I posted yesterday that there is a narrative being pushed that Juan is moving here strictly because he wants to feed his family. My thought is that the grass is many shades greener, and that is as much or more draw, for many that have come here illegally.

A post I wrote back in July about how cutting immigration would force corporations to lure prime aged men not presently working (astronomical number) with higher wages.

Now this meat packing company Cargill that relies on refugee labor is being forced to raise wages in order to lure Americans Since they no longer can rely on refugees :
The bottom line: U.S. meatpackers that have become dependent on refugee labor may have to raise wages to recruit workers.
I also said a couple posts later that although goods costs would increase due to higher wages fewer people would be on welfare would mean less taxes needing to be collected offsetting the price increases. Usurprisingly Trump is planning major tax cuts

Thanks, hope you are doing well. Still in AFG, I got embedded with another unit, trying to show them how to track the bad guys, like trying to herd cats. Frankly, I am already sick of the day to day Trump news and the Combat Forum is not what it used to be. Still check in on a regular basis.

Nah… I’m pretty sure everyone knows what racism means.

Underrated post lol. So, so underrated.

I know, and it’s really dragging on and on seeing as we’re in at least year nine of it… If not, you know year 240.

Jesus Christ guys, read some history ffs.

You guys know what it was like for everyone that didn’t like Obama. You’ll get used to it.
