Trump: The First 100 Days

Just to be fair - and I can’t believe that I’m the one saying this - something you guys on Team Trump have pointed out all along is that his Tweets are, purportedly, sometimes just threats to spur people into action; perhaps he has absolutely no intention of actually “sending in the Feds” but is trying to send a message.

Do I like it? Absolutely fucking not. But it would not be totally out of line with the Notorious DJT’s supposed strategy on Twitter.

Stolen, lol.

You sire are spot on. I love every one of Trump’s executive orders. Therefore, I don’t mind him using the pen to get things done. By contrast I hated every one of Obama’s executive orders so at that time I screamed that he was bypassing the legislative branch.

That’s politics and every person should admit that they are susceptible to the same thing.

Gee, I wonder which side is always protesting? Hmm…this is a tough one.

Just think if we did not have to rely on foreign oil any longer. $1.00 per gallon is a real possibility. But first we have to stop these anti fracking/drilling/pipeline nuts from getting in the way of a better economy.

Like this has not been done before? Past Presidents have done this to calm rioting, equal rights protection and even criminal behavior.

Obviously, we have a Mayor in Chicago who doesn’t know his ass from first base. He handcuffs the Police Department because he is more worried about offending black leaders than he is keeping black people alive.

North side of Chicago is beautiful, South Side is a mess. If they can magically contain all the violence in the Southside from spilling over into the Northside, they can get it out of the Southside.

Perfectly stated.

Because nothing says “small government” and “conservative principles” as the sitting Republican President threatening a city mayor with the full force of the Federal government on Twitter.

LOL…Nice line. But, as you already know most of us didn’t vote for Trump because he was going to practice conservative principals 24/7. We voted for him because he was running against the wicked witch of the East. Also, let’s not forget that his cabinet appointments have been conservative. Also, his executive orders have been conservative. And he is about to appoint a conservative Supreme Court Justice (anyone want to bet me?)

So, over all keep the snide comments coming they are entertaining. And I love to read your posts (I really do). But, I will choose Trump everyday over that individual he was running against. It’s a very easy choice.

Well I do hope you’ll be so happy with executive orders and the abuse of federal power once the pendulum swings the other way and there is a President in the mold of Trump that belongs to the other camp.

But then, I suspect it will be something like this:

“It’s tyranny that tramples on our core values because (the future POTUS) is not nominally a Republican!”

On a side note, I really like Evan McMullin and his recent initiative. Apparently, he’s one of the few that understands that you shouldn’t sell out your principles for a proverbial political bone thrown your way.

This is quite insightful

Yes, there are very few like him around.

To all the Trump naysayers on this board. I know that Trump is a bit eccentric. I know that Trump is not an authentic conservative. I also know that Trump lies (like all politicians) and is an egomaniac at least on par if not worse than Obama.

My point is you guys can keep pointing these things repeated as you seem to enjoy doing. But it matters not to me. If he does what he says he will do:

  1. Lower taxes

  2. Cut regulation

  3. Appoint Conservative Supreme Court Justices.

  4. Close the door on illegal immigration

And a few other more minor things…

All that matters at this point is that we turn this country completely around form the direction that it has been travelling in the past eight years. If that happens he can tweet until his fingers are raw I DONT CARE.

And from what I have seen during his first 5 days as President Trump is doing a great job!

Further than that, there’s just no basis on which to “send in the feds”. There’s no civil rights issue nor is there a rebellion or threat to national security.

It’s a dangerous and stupid thing to say, much less believe. But say it and believe it he does.

And of course, imagine if Obama said the equivalent - PWI would be on fire from “conservatives” torching Obama as a dictator trying to trample states’ rights.

Which one of the 3 remaining Conservatives here, has applauded Trump on this?

That is another dimension to it. It’s one thing when you aren’t president, and a whole other thing when you are.

By saying it, he almost has to do something, lest he have his own “red line” moment within the first week.

Federal oversight to get local politicians and law enforcement all moving in the right direction, sure.

National guard troops concentrated in high crime neighborhoods- BAD. VERY BAD.[/quote]

"Responding to concerns raised over the controversial Tweet, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer met with reporters Wednesday in an effort to clarify the President’s ominous–yet, largely ambiguous–message.

Pressed for specifics on the magnitude of the response that the Trump administration intends to implement, Press Secretary Spicer clarified that, while the decision to implement Federal intervention is ultimately pending discussion between President Trump and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the public can be assured that any action mandated by the controversial President, 'will really sock it to ‘em.’

Addressing concerns over the encroachment of the Federal government on civil liberties by an administration that campaigned on small-government values and a promise to ‘drain the swamp,’ Spicer recapitulated the White House’s intention for a bipartisan movement offering transparency throughout the process.

‘We are in active, ongoing discussions with various organizations that have expressed concern over what they perceive to be a threat of unconstitutional encroachment of the Federal government into their lives,’ Spicer reported. ‘Because the individuals who do not feel that a 24% increase in shootings from 2016 is enough to require Federal intervention will undoubtedly leverage these statistics in the promotion of stricter gun control laws down the road, we feel it is important to keep the lines of communication open.’

You a make a great point. The many self-professed “conservatives” on this board have gone by the wayside and have been replaced by right-wing court eunuchs.

This is 10000000000% true. This whole PC world of implicit bias and the ultimate crime is to cause offense, and social media and social media activism has all contributed to this phenomenon. This band wagon jumping is the current most fatal human action we can engage.
