That whole protest/riot thing just doesn’t really fly around here. Big parties when the home team wins, sure. But when a politician looses its like “ah, fuck’em.”. The summit was nice to have, to show off some of the new tech stuff and all. Even the protesters weren’t as bad as they were in most places. Previous reports had said larger destination type cities like London or Paris get way more turn out. It just seemed ridiculous that a bunch of people show up to tear up places like Lawrenceville, or my old buddys neighborhood, Garfield.
I was wondering if the Trump voters here could explain to me one thing - and this is a serious question - when Hillary was investigated over the alleged Benghazi attack cover-up there were so many committees and hearings and whatnot and Republicans in general (especially on this board) were talking about “how national security was endangered” and how “it’s important to get down to the bottom of things” and were drilling down to minutiae in their unwavering quest for the truth
Now, with the President-Elect, there are so many issues and serious accusations already about his relationship with Russia - namely, that even the intelligence service of the closest ally of the US (UKs MI6) believe the leaked report to be “credible” and the Israeli intelligence officers believe Trump’s administration will pass on top secret information to Russia and subsequently Iran, just to name a few.
And there’s the unusual fact that on the day the current C-in-C took a specific course of action against Russia, Trump’s National Security Advisor was in regular contact with the Russian ambassador, potentially coordinating the Russian response.
And yet all of this is casually dismissed with a wave of a hand as “Democrat sour grapes” and the “liberals are angry that they lost”. What, no committees and hearings, no one wants to establish whether these extremely serious accusations are unfounded or not?
Why did all that concern for “national security” so conspicuous during the grilling of Hillary suddenly disappear?

Provide actual evidence not hearsay.
You conduct Congressional investigations to gather evidence. Hence Congressional subpoenas.

If I was to speculate, I’d say he was just reassuring them to go along to get along. Along the lines of “Just do what ever he says. He’s gone in a couple of weeks anyways.”.
Believe me, if there was or is any wrongdoing, there will be congressional and senatorial hearings for the next decade.
The hearings are required to first determine whether there was or is any wrongdoing.
