Trump Inauguration Thread

Another great post my friend.

One example, GW Bush ignored every unfair and ridiculous attack by the left wing media. What happened? His poll numbers tanked. He refused to respond claiming that time will prove him correct. I thought then that this was a really dumb strategy.

Yes, Trump is hypersensitive to the left wing media bashing him. The same folks who laughed when he announced he was running. The same folks who said he’d never get the nomination. The same folks who said that he’d never beat Hillary. And yes…the same folks who worked in concert with the Hillary campaign in a futile effort to get her elected.

I’d say he’s doing a good job bashing the left wing media and he should keep it up.

Why?

Not for revenge as you might think. But because the left wing media has the lowest ratings of any group in America. Thus he gets to bash the people who tried to destroy him and at the same time continues to win support from the very people who elected him. It’s a two for one and a phenomenally smart move.

If he keeps this up and actually has some great success as President he will be reelected in a landslide.

LOL…racism behind voter ID laws Ha hahaha

Did you even read the post?

I read the article and it was left wing drivel.

So you didn’t read my post is what you’re saying? I said I support Voter ID laws, however, the laws passed here and on other states were repeatedly found to be purposefully used to discriminate against poor minority voters.
But you, in your usual hyper-partisan, confirmation-bias-laden nature, dismissed it immediately.

You can use a concealed carry permit, but not a state employee ID in Texas? Or a Driver’s License but not a Federal Employee ID in NC?

Perfect example - according to a WP report, Trump ordered the National Park Service to produce more pictures of the National Mall on Inauguration Day. Still stinging over the optics of the smaller crowd than Obama’s, he’s directing federal resources for no other purpose than to help bind his self-esteem wound(s).

Edit: typo, deleted “has” from “has ordered”, Trump ordered it previously.

Hyper partisan…hmm. That means that I believe strongly in one particular ideology just as you do my friend. Could I possible have missed one of your posts where you have been leaning to the far right? No I thought not. So, what you accuse me of you seem to be guilty of yourself. And I don’t hold that against you. You have your frame of reference and I have mine. So relax and don’t expect that you will ever hear me promote an idea from the DNC. Don’t act surprised or offended or angry. We each have our own set of political beliefs.

Okay, as for voter ID laws.

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/355827/

Of course NC has been struck down since this article was written. Nonetheless it makes sense,

see that goes to the make it simple plan

State (or military ID) or Driver’s License required… I know, I know next stop - Natl Identity Card
Either get one of these or don’t vote. No college id, no gun id, no pussycat club id.

95%+ have a cell phone - which require id to get, but can’t afford or travel to get id?

Damn this victim mentality - it is a blight on our society.

So the republicans are trying to stop minorities from voting based upon the above?

I wonder how many voters have federal ID’s as opposed to drivers license’s? So, produce a valid drivers license and vote. That is discriminatory? No one is saying that the voter must have a car…just a license. Are you saying that minorities are not smart enough to pass a drivers test? No, I hope you are not saying that.

And brought to us by the…L E F T

Pussycat Club!!! :joy:
I think it really comes down to playing fair…and by the rules.
Republican legislatures passed the sweeping laws and they were struck down by Appeals courts each time.
I also think it’s fair to say you should have ID to vote. If you want to restrict it to your Make it Simple Plan that sounds good.
You make an okay point with the ID to get a cell phone…if you’re on a major provider, but most poor people aren’t going to have a plan with a major provider, simply can’t afford that.

They’re going to buy your classic prepaid phone you can get at the gas station…that doesn’t require an ID. You buy a plastic card at the same gas station to put minutes on it.

I could see the argument “if you want to vote, get X or Y,” but quite frankly you force poor people to chose between necessities and voting, which in terms of opportunity cost may not be worth it.

That’s why the added exceptions such as being able to apply for a free Voter ID. Things like that, but ultimately it comes down to the principle behind the law. Otherwise, appeals courts wouldn’t strike them down no?

I wonder how people reconcile their belief that Trump is insecure with the fact he’s experienced a 24/7 assault on his character, family, personal life and business for the past 18 months.

Surely if he’s so insecure he would have dropped out of the race and become a recluse?

I love when you argue with strawmans and via reductio ad absurdum.

As it happens, I am a citizen of the one part of the UK where ID is mandatory to vote. The same complaints of voter suppression are made when the same is brought up for the rest of the UK, despite a government White paper concluding it was the most sensible option to eliminate the threat (perceived or actual) of voter fraud.

So what about an identification that is issued by the state for just this purpose? A voter card issued to ever eligible citizen, paid for by the taxpayer. That would ameliorate the identity fraud concerns and the voter suppression concerns.

Thank you.

I love it when you love things that I write.

“reduction ad absurdum”

That was good keep it up.

And “fair” is allowing the left to vote as many times as they like. And if there are a few thousand dead people who still want to cast their votes…why not?

I’ve repeatedly said I’m forming my ideology, otherwise I would say VOTER ID LAWS ARE BAD. Good try though.

Voter ID laws aren’t bad…but you have to play by the rules, which, state legislatures have not, and said laws have been struck down by Appeals courts each time.
Each time they have been shown to attack the poorest, minority voters.

Well…Trump is everything bad. Obama everything good. Just ask snow flakes like Madonna.

If you are still forming your ideology and I have already formed mine then you should be kinder to me

As for certain voter ID laws being struck down by Appeals courts that doesn’t mean they were bad. Keep in mind that liberal Judges love to over exert their power on us common folks. That makes me sad.

I don’t know if they’re doing that…but who is to say the Right is not utilizing the same tactics when there are no voter ID laws? Do not R and L leaning business owners both utilize illegal immigration to kedp prices lower?

The advantage is had by the Right to pass voter ID laws because they are targeted at disenfranchising poor minority voters, as the courts have repeatedly found.

Then they can say “We’re trying to eliminate voter fraud!” and really achieve what they want.

On the left they have no advantage to pass said laws because they would be limiting access via their voter base. But I imagine if people would be fair…a solution could be resolved.
