Ah, but you forget one thing my friend. What sort of people now make up the electorate? Come on…you know where I’m going with this. Trump would be laughed off the stage in 1980. But we now live in a time where the lines have become blurred between reality TV and politics. Most 20 something’s were getting their news from Jon Stewart. More people watch the kardashians than know what the 1st amendment is. It’s a freak show now --pure entertainment. Certainly that does not hold with many people, a minority of voters still know which end is up and they are appalled by the Trump phenomenon. And are none too happy about Hillary either.
I will say what I said when Obama was first elected and then reelected.
The people get the person that they most deserve to lead the country.
What I found most interesting is that it took CNN to call Trump out for the conspiracy nuttery aimed at ultra-Conservative Cruz, while the Fox news hosts just sat by as Trump said this stuff on their show…
It’s like that whole Fox/Megan Kelly/Trump hating stuff was all just one GIANT publicity stunt, and one Fox dumped Rubio they went larynx deep with Trump.
I, for one, am aghast. I’m sure many others are too.
I have been pretty disappointed with Breitbart.com. They went balls deep for Trump and pretty much abandoned being a conservative outlet. I’m not sure Andrew Breitbart would be very happy with its current state.
There is no outward luster with Trump, no one denies that. But look what we got when we got the prom king Obama. An articulate, intelligent, steady, smooth talking’, jive walking’ car salesman who could sell ice to an Eskimo. But in the end, he turned out to be an empty suit.
What Trump did, is what the Beatles and the band Nirvana did. Trump changed the way people hear politics, the same way music was never the same after the Beatles and Nirvana came out. Trump had a better message, and because of his delivery, they received it better.
Crazy, huh? It’s like when Fox turned their back on him and CNN jumped at the opportunity, CNN was by default endorsing him and giving access to their viewership, which is mostly left.
But the Trump is way too dumb to pull off a manipulation like that. Plus, no one likes him or agrees with him.
Jobs, and he pointed out specific examples. He also used a method of nostalgia when he talked about making America great again. People really feel like we fell off over the years, that little by little we have seen our country swirl the drain. Trump also spoke in a no-nonsense fashion, people really appreciated the unscripted stream of consciousness that he uses.
Trump also was willing to give a middle finger to the party, if it meant fixing the problems we have. I have said it dozens of times already, no one gives a fuck about “the party” when you just got laid off. Carrier Air Conditioning, based in Indianapolis, had 1400 jobs sent to Mexico. Trump was the only guy talking about it. Trump also railed against GW Bush for his screw up with the Iraq War, a sentiment that many on both sides feel.
Agree that this is Obama '08 all over again, Democrats have certainly played a roll in the GOP groundswell.
