People don’t do drugs because they are happy. They don’t become alcoholics because they are happy. They don’t hope that God will somehow help them if they are happy.
I lived in the ghetto and people were mean, miserable and angry.

I’m sure it makes up for the noble moral position they took during the Civil War.
I grew up “white trailer trash.”
The majority of us were plenty happy just for the opportunity to see another sunrise. To form bonds with friends. Love and be loved. Believe it or not even poor folk can be content and happy to live. They can meet their significant other, feel their newborn child in their arms, watch as a grown child leaves to be the first to college. Heck, it can feel near perfect just listening to the music and laughter at a family gathering. Simple things. I realize they’re seen as having less justification for living–sort of missed abortive opportunities–but it’s true. If anyone should be left to judge their propensity for happiness, shouldn’t it be themselves? What is with the kill them in the womb for their own good implication going on?
I’m not sure what their average age is, but…
Their ancestors? Not that much distance between them and their northern counterparts a far as slavery and race went.
Still, now they want to save innocent human lives from being deliberately killed. Disproportionately-massively so–, black and brown lives.
Nothing says moral like pushing policies that have been proven to increase teenage pregnancy. Forcing women who are raped by their uncles to have their babies and then letting them have a shot at parental rights. Telling gay and lesbian youth they are pieces of shit. Working against health care for their citizens.
Man I’m arguing part of the reason Alabama is poor is because of what they are doing not that poor Alabama people are the problem. It’s the policies not the people.
Although yeah I think if you make your educators tell people who have premarital sex they are used up and gays and lesbians they don’t matter it’s messed up. But that’s pretty much standard “Love your neighbor” stuff.
Nothing says moral like really bad arguments to keep legal the slaughter of “inconvenient” lives by the hundreds of thousands a year.
How about the sanctity of the bodies of all the females slaughtered/aborted,? As an aside, not a continuation of the exchange above.
And I would say nothing says moral like pushing ideas from an invisible sky man which help increase the amount of women carrying unwanted children. But we are talking about the same people who think these lives matter but will cover up the lives of raped kids by priests. The same people who seem to want all kids to be born but then hate them if they are gay. Who don’t mind schools telling them they are lesser people.
But we aren’t going to come to an agreement just like any of these threads. I’ve said I want the amount of aborted babies to be decreased. We can do this with contraception and education. Why would someone fight that knowing that making abortion illegal is not going to eliminate the demand for it but make it less safe?
Makes no sense to me.
In these heated debates is it ok to wish the other had been aborted since abortion wouldn’t have erased the “persons” sitting here today and simply killed some alien placeholder organism?
God, gays, priests… I’m just talking about abortion.
So am I. I’m saying pushes policies that will decrease them. It’s ok for the church to change it does so all the time. If one wants to lower the amount of abortions why would we not start in reducing unwanted pregnancies right off the bat with the methods that we know can help?
I would think if one was pro-life they would want to do everything they could to keep a woman from being in that situation where they would seek an abortion whether it was legal or not.
I just don’t see how people can want every pregnancy to happen but then hate so many results of those pregnancies. Hell in Bible school we sang Jesus loves the little children, ALL the children of the world.
The question of killing an innocent human life with premeditation is a wholly separate one. One only the perpetrators and supporters share the guilt in.
Not in the least bit. But I don’t think you like the way I’m analyzing the other factors.
But we can do something about putting women in that situation where they might make the decision. And it’s the logical place to begin. Starting with decreasing unwanted pregnancies is an easy first step and it makes zero sense to fight against it. This will reduce the amount of abortions regardless of whether it’s legal or not. That’s a win-win.
Sex without a condom does feel better though I will give you that much.
No, I mean the only people guilty of abortion are its perpetrators and supporters. Nick demonstrated that already on one front.
I could support legalizing murder. That would in no way make me guilty of murder.
It makes perfect sense to reduce unwanted pregnancies. If birth control, both condoms and female birth control were free and easy to get, I would wager abortions would decline.
So this is another one of those flowery statements that don’t add anything to the actual situation. If you want to reduce abortions do the things I said. It really is that easy.
Being opposed to birth control doesn’t change that fact. It just means you’re against the perfect place to start.
Everyone realizes this and that’s why no one is saying anything counter to it. Also if we educated people instead of pretending everyone is just going to stop having sex until the exact minute they are “ready” to have a child.
Forget abortions and reducing unwanted pregnancies is still going to have a positive effect on society.
When people argue against these things (no one in this thread really has) then we know they just want to make abortion illegal. They don’t want to actively reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies and they don’t care about women who will seek illegal abortions.
But there are exceptions, like war. And who decides which humans are expendable? The same corrupt and immoral politicians who want to ban abortion for no other reason than getting votes. Because they will still have access to abortions. Their elitist friends and campaign donors will still have access to abortions. The poor will always do whatever it takes to stay poor.
Sanctity? Is that a scientific term? When all is said and done, prolife is really all about feelings. That sounds rather liberal, leftist, sjw to me.
