Trump 2025 - Resuming The National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity

Trump has won his second term in the most significant and historic election of my lifetime. He seems to be on track to even win the popular vote, but there’s still a lot of blue states that seem to take a really, really long time to count votes. As of Wednesday morning at 9:00 EST, he’s up by four points or around five million total votes on CNN’s tracker.

Hopefully PWI becomes more interesting once again, with plenty of people ready to believe what places like CNN are going to tell you when they cite unnamed “sources familiar with Trump’s thinking” or “51 former intelligence agents”.

Is an American Nazi Party about to emerge out of the Republican Party? Is “Our Democracy” about to crumble in front of our eyes? It doesn’t seem so to me.

I predict generally but not dramatically improved economic outcomes and lots of manufactured drama from our friends in the corrupt propaganda machine who want you to believe they are legitimate journalists.

Hopefully WWIII doesn’t begin as the Biden Administration completes its dance of incompetence on the world stage.

Thoughts and predictions?

I was surprised by the domination. I pray now that there are some sane people around him to reign in the crazy a bit. And I ALMOST wish that they hadn’t won both houses of Congress, because if this blows up it will cripple Republicans for years to come.

I can’t wait for Trump to implement the Republican platform Project 2025 starting on Day One.

(that’s sarcasm, for youse that don’t normally follow along)

Normally, I prefer the President to be checked by a divided Congress. However, in this environment, shock and awe is needed to pass the STRONG immigration laws necessary to ensure that the next clown show President can’t simply reverse sensible immigration policy with a diametrically opposed set of Executive Orders.

I love the optimism!

Also, pun intended?..?

I’m giddy with a renewed sense of optimism!

For a local politics update, Lewiston, Maine had a huge line of new voters who required translators at at least one of our polling locations and local government officials making claims that our local voting process is completely secure. My polling place was a mundane experience that only took 10 minutes for me to get in and out. I got to see the questionable stuff first-hand for round 3 of a school budget vote earlier this year where there was only one polling place for the entire town.

It was a surreal experience standing in line to vote in a local Maine election and being the only person in line at that moment who didn’t require a translator.

Our elections are not secure. A tourist could have voted in Lewiston, Maine last night. Hopefully Voter ID continues to gain traction at the state and federal level. This one was too big to rig but they definitely tried to rig it however they could.

Another issue that Republican shock & awe needs to address immediately. Contrary to media propaganda, not requiring an ID to vote is an anomaly for a civilized nation of law.

Try something as simple as getting a library card w/o an ID. Or buying a six pack from a supermarket w/o an ID even though one is cough cough twice the legal age.

I am relieved. Just the thought of her representing us on the world stage made me nauseous.

On the other hand, I agree with @doogie I hope somebody keeps his mouth/ thumbs reigned in. Just because you think something, doesn’t mean you have to say it.

Eh, I’ll get a tax cut, he’ll suck at all things international again, giving away all of his bargaining chips, he’ll give away valuable intel ways and means again, the deficit will soar again, and he’ll set us up for high inflation again. I suspect he’ll have to own it though, but I thought he’d own the mess he left us with last time so maybe not. Oh, and he’ll be a driveling dementia addled old man, way worse than Biden.

Oh yeah, and we will all be driving electric cars. Who saw that coming? Musk knew saw someone to manipulate for his own gain there, and I thought he was just lucky til now.

Is this the end of VP Harris? Is there anything left for her to do but disappear?

What will happen with VP Vance? Should he stay in the background, like normal for the position? Or will he get a visible, important role, like an audition for '28?

She can become a media personality and cash in on her tales of racism and sexism that prevented her ascension to the Presidency. Her extensive experience as a carefully constructed media personality should carry over to this new role quite well.

Politicians are like cockroaches.

Given he is a charisma vacuum, yes.

They are all gone. His inexperience in politics the first time around lead him to bring them in during his first term but they are all fired in disgrace, resigned in disgust, or “the biggest morons on the planet” he wouldn’t ever hire again even if they wanted to play ball.

Replaced now with not even the B team, but the C team of hangers on and opportunist. Anyone still in Trumps orbit knows exactly what he wants to do and is on board with it now, if not pushing him into even further territory

Why would one vote for someone whos crazy needed to be reigned in by other people? Kind of smacks to me of “I hope he doesnt do all that stuff he said he was going to do”

What crazy do you hope gets reigned in?

And again here… “I hope republicans dont do all that stuff they want to do because boy will it look bad”

If you dont want the people to do the stuff they say they are going to do, why are you voting for them?

Key battleground states were subjected to ballot integrity measures this time that they were not last time.

There were an awful lot of eyes on this election that weren’t there in 2020, along with a lot fewer vote-by-mail opportunities for rigging.

Even here in Maine the pressure is mounting, with more and more people openly asking WTF is going on with all of the translators and multi-language voting guides in a state that requires US citizenship to vote in any election.

What are the actions you are most concerned he will take?

Giving Musk, Vivek, or any other self serving salesman with an overinflated sense of their intelligence and abilities a voice in governing.
