It was incompetent to announce that the airspace would be shut down for 10 days if they weren’t sure that would be needed. They could have just said it was shut down until the threat was dealt with. They seem to have pulled the ten days out of their ass.
If I needed access to the airspace, I would always like to have an educated guess at the time it would be closed.
I agree. But they say they shut it down because of some drones coming in from Mexico. If they thought they were going to continue to come for 10 days, it would be nice to know what changed.
It’s only a matter of time until the Dems use the nuclear option. If we can secure elections before then, it needs to happen.

I prefer that the public not be privy to the specifics of a National threat . Secrecy is always a good strategy.

Is that an accurate description of the threat? Was there no reason to suspect there was no other threat related to the closed airspace?

@Brant_Drake I found your comment that I was “grooming” the young student in that other thread to be particularly silly, and frankly expected from a woke leftist in 2026. It’s right in line with the idea that math is racist, that studying history from a variety of non-Marxist sources is an instrument of white supremacy, and that learning physics, chemistry, and biology is also a tool of the oppressive capitalist class.
Just this week there have been a number of high school students protesting policies they do not fully comprehend, nor do the public educators who encourage and incentivize participating in these emotional outbursts instead of doing their damn job of explaining academic subject matter.
All while our public schools actively cultivate the absurd idea that men can become women, which simply wasn’t present at all when I was a pubic school student.
There is an awful lot of grooming going on, but it isn’t coming from the increasingly few people who remain in public education who still believe in the “old-fashioned” idea that if a student knows your political opinions, you’re doing something wrong at your job.

I don’t remember the specific context, but I remember in an exchange about graduating college and entering the construction industry a shift in thinking from aggressive victimhood to moving in to another chapter and learning to let things slide for benefit of a bigger picture.

It was due to lack of communication between the FAA and Pentagon. Much like the helicopter/airliner crash in DC. That’s incompetence. The Pentagon let the CBP use a laser for the first time without telling the FAA. The FAA panicked and pulled the 10 days out of their ass.
I’m just bitter because I spent the morning getting flights, hotels, rental cars rebooked, and figuring out other ways to get my people there. Then they just said never mind.

I said I DON’T regret voting for him. Not that I wouldn’t. There are things that could change my mind. The Obama video was stupid, but I’m willing to bet he doesn’t have the attention span to have actually watched it to the end.
