According to Trump, the Straight of Hormuz is open and Iran is at the negotiating table to turn over the uranium. Israel and Jordan are in a ceasefire. Oil is coming back down, too.
Whatever the Iran war was, it appears to be the opposite of what Democrats and the woke right warned us it would be. A lot of pieces look like they are off the chessboard in what might be one of the most lopsided military conflicts in modern history.
China certainly has a lot to think about if they decide to attempt a Taiwan invasion, especially from a fuel perspective.
In local news, I drove past the local mosque today on my way to the river walk with the dog to enjoy the first warm and sunny day of the year and boy, it was a bizarre scene.
The self-proclaimed āsafety brigadeā was āguardingā the mosque on this gorgeous day. It included some prominent local activists who are bat shit crazy, including the hardcore DSA activist lady who files bogus protection from harassment orders against anyone who interacts with her, even if you simply view her public social media. She even tried calling the cops on the cops at a polling place when they wouldnāt arrest a school board candidate she didnāt like.
These woke white people in covid masks are āguardingā their āalliesā from the tow truck company across the street who plays the national anthem at noon every day and trolls the shady nonprofit MIERS with their electronic road sign.
All with a pork sausage delivery truck in the background (the mosque is actually located next to Mailhotās sausage factory).
Thereās a lot of playing victim going on in the Maine Democratic Party these days. Many elected leaders are filing protection from harassment orders in people who criticize them at public comment, although many get rescinded because of no harassment taking place. At least two city councilors have participated in the āsafety brigade.ā Freaking theater kidsā¦
Itās no wonder they are so big on āmy truthā, not the truth.

It also showed that drone swarms donāt matter a whole lot if the US Navy is nearby. Maybe China has enough navy, enough air force, and enough missiles and drones to make that a different story in Taiwan, but Trump seems to have achieved a stranglehold on Chinaās fuel supply in a matter of months. Venezuela, Iran, and the Straights of Malacca. That doesnāt seem like haphazard diplomacy to me. This level of control over Chinese oil imports is pretty significant. It definitely puts a clock on any war initiated by China. Big boats need lots of fuel, both military and commercial.
The UK, Italy, and at least one other European NATO are also sending warships to the Persian Gulf. Better late than never, I suppose.
