Trump 2025 - Resuming The National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity (Part 1)

What? Hitler loved America and used it as a blueprint.

I’m just asking what it is. With England, we can mention the Protestant work ethic for example.

Yes, like those pesky Europeans who attacked us on 9/11.

The dude complains about lefties always referencing Hitler but he brings up Hitler every other post.

Well, it was true and accusations of fascism form the basis for modern progressive politics, and continue to escalate now that it is clear immigration law will be enforced.

The only reason National Socialism got lumped in with fascism was for communist propaganda purposes, as they were rather inconveniently trying to cultivate a sense of national socialism in the newly-formed nation of the Soviet Union.

He also spoke about “same stuff on both sides”, where the political right included very few people who believed in a constitutional Republic and free market economy, but plenty of monarchists. Always giving people the idea that National Socialism would somehow be able to synthesize incompatible ideas, like private property and the concept of Gleichshaltung.

Here, if you guys are interested in learning.

When will it be uncool to shit on America?

Probably in the decades that follow whenever the USA saves everyone’s ass again. Germany in the 1990’s was pretty damn welcoming to me and my clumsy Deutsch.

He’s dead.

I don’t think it was ever cool.

Keeping with the cultural side of things, I think Americana is definitely coming back into the realm of “cool” among kids and young adults. I don’t think it is a coincidence that a lot of 1980’s fashion is as well, which is probably the last time I remember America really being synonymous with “cool”.

Despite being fully subjected to Social Emotional Learning concepts steeped in progressive terminology and including a population of large numbers of migrant children, the 2024 student mock election in Maine went to Trump handily.

My son’s circle of friends are all pretty MAGA. As a group they are also much more politically aware than most early 20’s people were when I was that age, 9/11 flashes of patriotism aside.

How could they not be, growing up in Lewiston and experiencing such dramatic transformation in their short lives?

Trump by 11.2 points. In Maine. I would be shocked if the Dems didn’t try to rig this one somehow, too.

I also just remembered that a Lewiston institution is having its annual “Great American Party” in a couple weeks for the Daytona 500. It is always a packed house.

If you want a sociological analysis of American culture, you can find academic articles on the subject. The question was disingenuous, implying as many leftists do that the United States has no culture. You got a rhetorical answer to your rhetorical question. You don’t know or appreciate American culture until you’re put into another one.

Maine continues to be an interesting place to examine as the Trump administration begins enacting policy. This is a very clear take on the Title IX situation in Maine.

@jshaving I think I recall you asking about the implications of changing “sex” to “gender identity” in Title IX years ago, maybe when you were still in high school. I couldn’t find the post but Maine is now in a situation where that hypothetical discussion has become reality.

From the article:

It is important to note that Maine law prohibits discrimination in education on the basis of gender identity, which may now conflict in some circumstances with the federal Department of Education’s interpretation of Title IX. In these cases, Title IX would preempt these conflicting state laws and schools would be relieved of their obligation to comply with them. The Maine Department of Education recently advised schools that they must continue to comply with Maine laws that mandate nondiscrimination on the basis of gender identity, which have been interpreted to require, among other things, that schools open bathrooms to students of the opposite sex who have an established diagnosis of gender dysphoria. But as discussed above, following these laws now seems likely to subject schools to liability at the federal level. As the federal Department of Education continues to clarify its stance on the requirements of Title IX, the Maine DOE’s position on the enforceability of conflicting Maine laws may become untenable.

Hogg’s ascension to a leadership role is very good news for everyone who wishes increasing levels of failure on the Democrats.

They can’t stop taking L’s. Bizarre… but only illustrates their utter lack of awareness.

Alright. President Trump put the tariff on Mexico. Mexico decided to strengthen their border enforcement. Presumably saving US Tax Payers billions. President Trump takes the tariff off Mexico.

Did tariffs “work”?

The prevailing ideology doesn’t allow for correction. So many of their radical policies were framed as life-or-death levels of importance, like incorporating transgender ideology in public schools. Failing to adopt whatever gun control Boss Hogg wants is framed the same way.

Back to Title IX, we will see just how much Maine Democrats believe in their own rhetoric. If they actually believe what they say, they will be losing out on a massive amount of federal money they’ve grown quite accustomed to.

We are living in interesting times.

Too early to declare victory IMO, but yes this is exactly the sort of thing I would expect them to lead to.

So you can’t define it either.

The reason I asked was because you brought up Muslims and assimilation. I wanted to know what that means. They will abandon Islam because it’s not American? Because Americans are not religious?
