Absolutely. Thats never a good idea in my eyes, and what made Vivek Ramaswami a non starter. Dude couldn’t open his mouth without saying something about taking rights from people until somebody pulled him aside and told him to stop that shit.
Thats exactly what my bros wife did, thinking (incorrectly) that if she got married (banging for a green card) she would be granted citizenship. Well, the federal judge set her straight on that. So she got with another guy (bro is quadriplegic) and got knocked up.
When all of her shit (lying, cheating, stealing, trying to throw everybody in jail) started to fall apart, she bolted. With my fucking furniture!
Once ICE did take her into custody, they sent her & anchor baby back to Concepción.
My brother is a fucking douchebag when it comes to women. PSA- If you’re in the navy, don’t import women you meet on shore leave during south american cruises.
My take is he learned a lot about bureaucracy and power structures the first time around, and came prepared this time.
He has also defeated, or sidestepped, every attempt to not only stop but destroy him.
I think assassination is still a legitimate concern, but what other bullshit could possibly be drummed up against him otherwise?
They’ve been attempting character assassinations for a decade now, and have thrown whatever book they could at him from a legal standpoint. Nevermind an impeachment attempt based on what now know was false information provided by Fusion GPS the first time around.
He has the bull by the balls right now and knows which way to twist them.
LA could have had Rick Caruso, but the Democrat machine couldn’t have an Italian male running things, so party bigwigs like Obama endorsed Bass. Obama is now being reminded about his statement that Bass would be an outstanding mayor. I guess he was right if outstanding means out of the country while your city burns.
I agree with your assessment, but it is my belief that the assassination danger has mostly passed. That would spark off more MAGA than anyone could imagine now that he’s in power.
Donald Trump has definitely come out the other side of a forging process. He is behaving a lot differently this term. Brushes with death can do that to you. We are living in interesting times, for sure.
Totally understandable stance… (kidding, for youse that don’t follow)
Bass explicitly promised during her mayoral campaign that she would not travel internationally, in order to focus on local issues. Five trips abroad later… She’s so clueless and delusional, she probably had aspirations for a higher office and decided that raising her “profile” was more important than keeping an explicitly stated campaign promise, since the only thing that matters in Californication land is being chosen by The Machine.
I hope you’re right. The problem I see is that there isn’t anybody left to carry the MAGA bucket if Trump is gone, and I think that would be the point.
I also think this is the last legitimate shot at staving off fundamental changes to our overall framework, as well as socioeconomic policies, and he has four years to enshrine as much as he possibly can in to law vs executive order for lasting effect.
He did manage to stack the Supreme Court last time, now he needs to see challenges upheld, as law.
I don’t see Vance carrying water outside of a supporting role, and the cohesion we are seeing among very powerful political allies would be severely diminished in Trumps absence imo. Probably to the point of ineffectiveness.
Forget this dude’s editorializing comments, which you may or may not agree with; listen to Bass, who’s got all the BS verbiage mastered (seems to be the only requisite skill for all the CA politicians), but has no clue of how to actually help people out. Those people are so lucky to have Trump put his thumb on the scale.
I’ll disagree with you here, as well. I think Vance is pretty solid, and ready for whatever might be next. I think there’s at least a dozen other prominent conservatives who could out-perform any conceivable candidate the Democrats could put forward in 2028.
Even if I’m wrong about that, I don’t think the political movement of MAGA could possibly be weakened at this point, regardless of who some terrorists manage to murder.
I think Vance has great potential. We’re also in new territory, historically-speaking. Nobody can point to the past and say that the present is just like it, except for Democrats who are still doing their best to pretend they are fighting Nazis.
I hope you’re right. I see the Mcconnels of the world taking over the “conservative” side again when Trump is gone. Vance doesn’t have the x-factor to tie it all together.
I agree we are at a unique point in history however I see it as an opportunity to seize while it lasts, especially the way all
The chips are lined up, vs the beginning of an ongoing movement.
This is the example that is the most telling. People in the US whose parents are considered citizens of other sovereign, foreign nations are not instantly given citizenship just because their parents happened to be on US soil at the time of birth. If that applies to Native Americans, it seems to apply more strongly to illegal immigrants.
No one will be able to replace Trump, but the changes he has made in the parties won’t just go away. He has changed the discussion around immigration, foreign intervention, and trade in very significant ways.
