Venezuela is a shithole. They went all-in on the guy who said the right things.
Lewiston, Maine is well into the process of becoming a shithole. We, too, have gone all-in on folks who say the right things.
The things these leftist cult leaders say are no more than religious incantations and prophetic visions with no basis in fact at this point. Just bitter clingers to failed ideas and people who confuse the enactment of progressive policy with progress.

I try to look at it on ballance. My temporary neighbors that show up in April and leave in September are great. Sundays they play mariachi music and cut loose. Mon-Fri. They work their asses off on the farm behind me.
The gang bangers, foot soldiers and whatnot- they need to go.
I might be being a bit optimistic and I might have gotten into the gaffer’s Long Bottom Leaf, but I think we just watched woke fall apart.
The kids aren’t having it anymore, and it’s just such a rotten pack of lies that’s so hard for so many people to swallow. I don’t think there are many public school students who have had so many progressive religious beliefs thrust upon them as the children of Maine, and they just really pissed off a lot of the adults. It makes complete sense to me that teenagers are rejecting this crap.
Maine ain’t lilly white and Christian anymore, either. Lewiston is the 2nd biggest city in the state and our high school is roughly 45 percent Muslim.
I would also be completely unsurprised if adult Maine Democrats interfered in this somehow.
Corrupt governments. An attraction to socialism which is a reaction to exploitation. Violence. Crime. Many of these countries had civil wars and violent coups within the past few decades. Go read about La Guerra Sucia in Argentina. I should inform you I’m fluent in Spanish and have taught it so I know the history and cultures well. El pueblo unido, jamas sera vencido.
Honestly, if Trump just deals with illegal immigration and the influx of drugs coming into the nation, I would be happy. A lot of the other bs is just too baked into the system for anyone to fix in four years. Maybe streamlining some agencies like the department of ed. But anything that will involve the loss of jobs will be hard to do.

I believe any reports of its demise are greatly exaggerated. It was never about numbers but about how they were positioned to exert influence. Trans kids aren’t going anywhere. Denying them, in many cases justly, access to certain spaces will only give them a cause to fight for.
The student mock election results show that at least the children are still capable of making rational decisions.

It’s not going away for good because it can’t. It will always be possible to point out bad or even unfair outcomes in the world and suggest that you can deliver things like material, social and even spiritual wealth through the political process.
And there will always be people who are ready to latch on to those sets of beliefs.
