Trump 2025 - Resuming The National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity (Part 1)

He was a migrant, an illegal one at that, at one point. Plus, he’s a white South African so he knows all about exploiting people of color.

My knowledge of that is limited, but from what I understand prevailing wage is set by a state or federal scale, depending on whether its a state or federal contract. That may or may not apply. It could be based on national average. :man_shrugging:t2:.

Employers can do a lot of things I guess, But at some point it is just not worth it. I don’t really know anything about the supply or demand of the job market in stem sectors though.

If you come on a work visa, how much power do you have? You’ll be much more likely to not complain about what is asked of you when your employer can say, “if you don’t like it, you can always go back to where you came from,” and mean it.

Maybe you know, since you brought it up, but does that act apply to engineers?

Conversely, if the employer is a prick the worker can contact the USICS and create problems for the employer.

If an employer requires talent from outside of the US, then fucks around and becomes ineligible to host foreign workers, they would be screwing themselves pretty hard.

I realize this but again, the level of actual controversy seems contrived. There’s always going to be disagreement. It’s politics. This is not some fundamental principle of government that must be unwavering at all times. It’s an H1B Visa program.

Trump has shown remarkably adept at navigating a level of vitriolic disagreement not seen since the Lincoln administration. I predict he will continue to demonstrate this.

Ah ha! Thank you. I took a glance at the DBRA and know more now than when I woke up this morning.

I’ve worked on a couple of prevailing wage jobs, but aside from a much bigger pay check, I didn’t really know what was behind it.

But foreign workers might have a different view of what being a prick is.

How’s everybody doing here? Hope y’all had a merry Christmas.

I haven’t been following this (or any other thread really) but I thought this one would be as good as any to share this with those of you who like metal and election meltdowns.

Its just so wierd that a few gallons of gas and some fireworks was the best he could come up with.

Not saying he should have done better, just remarking that it seems odd that he didn’t. Like, that was as half assed a thing as I’ve ever seen.

Want to go a little out there.

SF guys are scary intelligent… this is odd af

Agreed…and i believe its too soon in the investigation to determine if it was suicide…unless there was a note or video of the deceased indicating he was going to off himself

Ya bro… something stinks like a MF. SF guys are like McGuyver. I still stay in touch with a couple of them. Truly bizarre stuff.

Anyone who can access the internet could figure out how to build a bomb.

What’s your point?

It should be evident but I’ll explain for those who rode the short bus. It has been posted that SF guys are very capable with regard to things like explosives. Yet, this guy appears to have been rather inept which is making some suspicious. I pointed out that you can learn how to build a bomb from the internet. The point is, how could a SF soldier, with all of his training and experience, build an explosive that was less effective than something any random person could build using the internet? Get it? It’s as if this was deliberately made to be crap.
