Trump 2025 - Resuming The National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity (Part 1)

Not sure they have changed haha. He’s pretty skeptical of everyone and anyone - especially any social media person or platform that gains rapid popularity. Fuentes is still young and we shall see. If I’m completely wrong, I’ll admit it readily.

He is far smarter than me that is for sure.

There are a lot of really smart motherfuckers on this forum, which is another reason I still post here. Bauber was definitely a thought leader with posts worth reading. I rarely used social media except for t-nation until a few years ago when I began writing publicly for a Lewiston, Maine audience, on account of the town’s rapid and systematic plunge into dysfunction.

Even today, people in Lewiston compare Lewiston to other cities in the USA and try to tell all of us who’ve lived here for decades or longer that things are actually great. We know they are not, because we’re comparing Lewiston to Lewiston.

I am reading through your posts and admittedly had them scraped by ChatGPT to get a feel for your views.

I can’t say they are really all that much different in terms of what we want the outcome at the end to be.

Continuing this line of thought with more examples and some local news, Lewiston announced its first female police chief today after a long search process that included extensive outreach to everyone in the community, including vocal leftwing activists and immigrant groups.

If I read the comments on The Maine Wire’s coverage of this on X, I’m met with a whole bunch of people who don’t know anything about her, calling her a DEI hire, a tool of the Democrats, not the person I’d want responding to an emergency call, so on and so forth.

This is forgivable because we in Maine have grown accustomed to one-party woke Democrat rule and the worsening conditions that come with it, but that doesn’t make any of it correct at all.

I’m very pleased with this announcement. Far from being a DEI promotion, she is exactly the kind of person I’d want in that job. She put on a textbook clinic in distance management, communication, and lethal force use when she put down a dude 20 percent taller and 50 percent heavier when she was a rookie cop in her early 20’s. She’s a lifetime Lewiston resident and a 25 year veteran of the same town’s police force. She was first through the door at the site of Lewiston’s horrific mass shooting, having no idea what was behind that door when she walked through it and then had the presence of mind to prioritize getting security footage of the shooter in the midst of a massacre.

The person most responsible for this selection was our new city administrator, who is a Democrat but shows no signs of being a woke Democrat. I’m not sure he even is one anymore, but he held public office as one before becoming a city manager, which isn’t elected in Maine. He has a lot of authority in Lewiston, and I think we might actually have the right guy for the job.

Finally, some good news out of Lewiston!

Actually, it’s pretty logical considering the history of the political system in this country for the past 150 years or so.

How far run into the ground? Ted kaczynski pre industrial revolution run down?

Yeah sorry not following.

However far it takes.

If the repubs lose in 26, the democrats govern.

Takes to what? What is the end goal?

With him as point of reference, you gotta be pretty damn good.

Also, glad your more articulate and able to substantiate your position than a toolbag like Castoli. :+1:.

I get that, but because I think the republicans suck ass too - it doesn’t necessarily or logically follow that I WANT democrats to govern was my point.

The death of the 2 party shit system we have. They are all part of the same club. It doesn’t matter what the letter is by their name.

Politicians like Massie should be the future.

Although, I am of the thought that nothing will change. Voting our way out of this death spiral of debt and insidious degradation of the US is not an option, at least not a viable one.

And hasn’t been for quite some time.

I work for him and he for sure has had a massive impact on me, my family, and my life. He took a chance on a guy that didn’t deserve it.

It really is shit. I feel like given the freedom to do so, humans naturally default to it however. I definitely don’t want a parliamentary system. That sucks just as bad or worse.

I agree completely.

Out of interest: what system would be preferable over parliamentary/multi party or two party system (of which I’m not a fan either)?

I think our current system with more than two viable parties would be great.

Yes, void of foreign influence and repealing Citizens United.

We are nothing but a corporate / foreign oligarchy now.

Would you prevent unions from donating to campaigns?

Yes.

Ban PACs?

I actually disagree about Citizens United. I think its solid legally. Hilary Clinton can cry about the movie.

Strict voter ID requirements across the country would solve a lot of our political problems, IMO, in addition to making additional political parties more viable.

In practical terms, MAGA is a pretty significant departure from neoconservatism and is as good as any third party I could realistically hope for.

The two parties that dominate US politics may not be perfect, but neither is anything else. In Weimar Germany a voter could choose between the KPD (communists), the SPD (similar to Democratic Socialists), a classical liberal party that collapsed by 1932, a Catholic Party that ultimately supported the Nazis, and a monarchist party, plus the National Socialists.

Out of that fragmentation emerged an Austrian Corporal who said he would save Germany…

In local news, Lewiston’s school committee voted down a motion 5-4 to investigate whether Iman Osman is even eligible to represent Ward 5 while claiming a condemned meth house as his residence. He was appointed to his current seat by the mayor after the meth bust when the seat was vacated by an ethical person who moved out of the ward and resigned accordingly.

He’s also the incoming Ward 5 city councilor, currently refusing to tell the city clerk where he actually lives. His lawyer, the son of Maine’s largest newspaper editor, says that Osman fears for his life due to the local objections about his eligibility to represent ward 5 while claiming to live in a condemned meth house.

I also learned that Bates College gender studies professor Eames, who is also on the school board, is his campaign manager. I have never heard of a local-level politician in Lewiston with a campaign manager, but apparently Osman had one of the best Marxist minds in Lewiston on his team.

It’s all extremely shady, just like nearly everything else Maine Democrats are up to these days. It really makes you wonder why these people are clamoring for local elected office with pitiful stipend compensation, while also responsible for 10’s of millions of dollars in tax dollars and public policies that currently function as a de facto subsidy to drug dealers all across Maine.

We need the feds, or maybe the UN will send soldiers in blue helmets to oversee our deeply dysfunctional government.
