That seems likely and apparently the redacted woman mentioned already testified under oath that Trump never touched her.
It’s amazing how people get angry when other people don’t fall for the same silly media tricks they do.
The same people who shout down a woman asking about very real benefits paid to illegal aliens will readily believe any unsupported media narrative that validates their feelings. E. Jean Carrol is a completely credible story, Biden was sharp as a tack, Trump colluded with Putin to trick Americans into voting for him, 34 felonies under a novel legal theory is disqualifying, ICE is just like The Gestapo, I could go on and on.
The other week a Lewiston City Councilor accused me of lying about registering to vote via sworn affidavit in Maine. Several local activist women joined in. They didn’t believe the screenshot of the law, they didn’t believe the ACLU voter guide, they didn’t believe the voting registrar who chimed in. One lady even posted a recorded conversation with a local poll worker who explained that you can register with no documentation whatsoever, choosing to interpret his clear words as meaning that you can only do it if you’re already registered, which doesn’t even make sense.
If it seems like Democrats and Republicans/independents live in two different realities, it’s because we do. Leftists believe in “their truth”, the rest of society believes in the truth.
That’s been a problem too, especially when they pull gimmicks like selling to themselves at inflated prices to drive up the whole neighborhood’s value.
In Maine at least, deporting the illegals will make rent prices and housing values drop pretty significantly, even with private equity still involved. It just put so much pressure on the market, along with people fleeing big cities during COVID.
Our home prices basically doubled in a couple years after COVID and mass migration happened. A 1 bedroom apartment in Lewiston goes for around $1500 now, which is just bonkers.
My plans of buying lakefront property are out the window. I was shopping year round lake homes about an hour from Lewiston in 2020 that were in the 300k ballpark. Those have more than doubled. I’m not paying 700k when I know how to launch my boat at any lake I want.
How can a person run for city council by claiming to reside in a condemned apartment that was the site of Lewiston’s biggest ever meth bust?
With the help of a lawyer who is the son of Maine’s largest newspaper editor and also running for state representative himself, that’s how. Iman Osman wasn’t charged with anything that night, despite being recorded walking out of his home in handcuffs. We don’t know why he wasn’t charged, given that he lived there and was there when the bust happened, but I suspect his considerable influence in the Somalian community has something to do with that.
Anyway, here’s how you run for office (and win) by claiming to reside in a condemned meth house.
Excellent! Its always nice to see them become an unexpected beneficiary of their pet policies.
The problem with this rainbow of different flavors of justice though is that they’re playing it like a zero sum game. Like “with liberty and justice for all” was too easy.
Now, you have to give these guys- (rapist, violent, whatever) extra rights and justice at the expense of other peoples liberty and justice.
Then you get these poor confused foreigners like @SepCalla that cant see how great it is.
So if everyone buys a house when they’re 20 they’ll pay an extra 500k in interest and “own” a house when they’re 70?
A 50 yr mortgage will increase prices even more. We’ve seen in in the past 20yrs with extended car loans. People are willing to pay a lot more when the payment looks reasonable. They stop thinking about the price and only the payment. It’s a really dumb way to buy anything.
I bought my first at 21 and lived house poor for years enlisted e3 moonlighting as a bouncer and selling plasma. It ended up paying off for me when i sold, but it was a shit existence in the beginning.
It is a good bit crazy really. Not exactly in a good way, though.
Its like the synthesis of human nature combined with the ideals put forth in our bill of rights lost its luster, so a bunch of special interests have decided to freshen it up with some fancy bullshit that really only appeals to very few, and benefits even less.
I don’t expect smoothbrains to be familiar with theories (or applications) of split infinity, but I’m sure you’ll understand and see how it was or can be applied to policy- and why zero sum politics always results in some (or many) holding the shit end of the stick.
They have become the equivalent of Democrat/Liberal zombies. Incapable of any criticism or critical thinking. Their first reaction is to dismiss, deflect or defend.
