Also, that was Bangor, Maine who elected the murder, in addition to an open member of the Maine Communist party, plus a harm reductionist who will vote the same way as the murderer and the communist.
Lewiston elected the meth dealer and Al Shabab member to our city council.
I’m sorry man, that does sound rather bleak. jeez….I feel NH will probably be affected[infected?] by Maine in the future as well. Indiana might be your best bet then.
New Hampshire passed a pretty solid voter id bill this year and isn’t nearly as woke or corrupt as Maine. Some of the dysfunction has spilled over, but nothing like what’s going on in Maine’s largest cities.
Lewiston’s former Mayor Raymond actually wrote an open letter to the Somalian community in 2002 that wasn’t racist, but was treated as such. He was doing his job and every prediction he made in it has come true. Rolling Stone magazine wrote about it and a documentary was even made to explain how bad of a guy he was.
Mayor McDonald was treated similarly in 2012 or so for raising similar concerns, and most people in town got the message that criticizing the policies that funded this massive relocation of people will ruin your career.
In the past 10 or so years my view on immigration has changed. I used to think that volume was the big issue. Looking at it primarily in an economic framing, “as long as they come in legally” makes sense. But then after seeing how our own government willingly floods communities with people from cultures entirely opposite our own, and ultimately turns them into run down shit holes, I prefer a very specific immigrant. White, black or Asian (oriental) Christians are preferred. I’m sick of importing the behavior we shed hundreds of years ago.
My view on immigration really hasn’t changed much. I’m totally fine with it when there’s a vetting process and expectations of learning the language and other civic elements of the citizenship test to earn voting rights.
Lewiston Public Schools presently has roughly 42 languages spoken by a third of the student body of 6,000-ish. What happened here is entirely unlike any concept of “immigration” that has ever occurred since the founding of the USA. This was an engineered flow of people, funded by us to destabilize us.
The first wave of Somalians who moved here came from Atlanta and some from Tennessee. They had already escaped the danger of their home country that wasn’t just happenstance, but a result of Marxists running Somalia, along with their tribal clan politics that I don’t fully understand.
And Lewiston isn’t alone. It’s been done to towns all over the country. We really should not take any people from certain countries/regions. A somali Muslim and a Nigerian Christian are not the same. But even then I wouldn’t approve of 10000 Nigerians being dropped into a small city.
I honestly can’t believe this stuff is even debatable. We decide who comes into our country. We don’t owe the world anything.
I met a lot of great Somalian kids who went to school with my kid in the ‘00’s and ‘10’s. Lewiston was able to handle a couple more languages in our public school in limited numbers of a few hundred. The institution already had practices in place for translation to French, which was spoken at home by a pretty significant part of the city back in the ‘90’s, some say as high as 30 percent.
It wasn’t a one-time migration of people. It was a political turning point, where Democrats realized that standing up nonprofits and directing tax dollars to them through a complicated series of grants can achieve things like rapid demographic transformation that works to their political advantage. All while structuring the social welfare programs to be as accessible as possible, along with voting itself. All while systematically flowing in new voters/state dependents.
I don’t blame anyone for trying to seek out a better life with the options they have. I blame the people who engineered this worldwide destabilization cycle, lying to the public the entire way.
I’ll frame today’s immigrants vs yesteryear’s immigrants thus (speaking generally, and simplistically of course):
Yesteryear’s immigrants came to the US with the intention of assimilating into a new, promising environment or at the very least were encouraged by US institutions to assimilate. Today’s immigrants come to “take over” the land where dumb rich people give out freebies, and our institutions (previous to this current administration), full of self loathing “educated” libtards, welcome this attitude with open arms.
I think about that stuff a lot these days. My Pap was a hard core democrat back when workers rights mean something all together different than it does now. Then- it meant pay them with real money, not coal scrip, and don’t kill them.
Now it means more benefits, special bathrooms, struggle points for the rainbow people- its disgusting.
Knowing the guy as I did, I don’t see him liking these new twists at all.
My dad would tell me about all of the different languages his friends spoke at home. I guess it was important to speak english when you were out and about. Native language at home, english outside.
And it was a pretty diverse crowd. In one mine patch you had people from all over europe- like Italian, Czech, Russian, Irish, Scot, Greek, all basically the same color from distinctly different backgrounds. Nobody was ordering anybody to " Celebrate Diversity!!! " to fill some cookie cutter template of appeasement. They just played soccer instead.
This stuff now isnt even a cheap immitation of the Democrat party as it was for quite a long time. Its a distorted pandering bunch of co-opters looking for new grievances to appease, and creating new ones when they can in a rush to throw as many tax dollars to their friends as quickly as possible.
The one that just held a huge part of its constituency hostage needs to go.
In principle I don’t mind non Christians immigrating, but the way Muslim mass migration actually plays out is another story altogether, completely different from every other migration of people to this country.
It’s all funded by taxpayers and they aren’t here to assimilate, but plunder and dominate. Not all, but many, and they vote as a group to achieve this.
If you could go back in time 25 years when Lewiston had almost no Muslims and pitch the idea of making it Muslim majority by spending public money to import a new population into Maine, even the most liberal of libs would call YOU the crazy one.
You could say the same thing about transgender policies pushing it on children in schools, drug policies that actually enable use, and decriminalizing crime more broadly. None of these ideas were mainstream democrat 25 years ago.
Here’s Steve Robinson of the Maine Wire talking about the reality in Bangor, Maine’s third largest city and the unofficial capital of northern Maine. It’s the same story here in Lewiston and down in Portland, the two largest cities.
I’ve also personally asked some Somalian Democratic Socialists why they are so supportive of the ideas that wrecked Somalia here in Maine. I’ve never gotten a decent answer, and they of course see this version of Marxist identity politics as good and many are unaware that Somalia was a Marxist government leading up to the civil war in the 90’s. The clan that is most dominant in Maine and Minnesota politics were, uncoincidentally, part of that Marxist regime. That’s why many had to flee, the other clans wanted them dead after being governed under Marxism.
Grok gives a pretty good explanation of Somalia’s Marxist period. The Darod clan is what most of the prominent politicians in Maine and Minnesota belong to. I also have it on good authority that the gang war that’s playing out on the streets of Lewiston isn’t just about drug trafficking, but clan-based blood feuds from the homeland.
Explain Somalia’s Marxist government
Somalia’s Marxist government refers to the period from 1969 to 1991 under the Somali Democratic Republic, led by Major General Mohamed Siad Barre, who seized power in a bloodless military coup on October 21, 1969, shortly after the assassination of President Abdirashid Ali Shermarke.Key Features of the Marxist Regime
Ideological Foundation
Officially adopted Scientific Socialism (a Marxist-Leninist framework adapted to Somali clan-based society).
Barre declared Somalia a one-party state under the Somali Revolutionary Socialist Party (SRSP), established in 1976.
Nationalized major industries, banks, farms, and insurance companies. Land was declared state property under the 1975 Land Law.
Soviet Alignment (1969–1977)
Received massive military and economic aid from the USSR (largest Soviet aid package in sub-Saharan Africa).
Built the largest army in sub-Saharan Africa (~37,000 troops by 1977).
Signed a Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation with the Soviet Union in 1974.
Hosted Soviet naval base at Berbera (strategic Red Sea access).
Shift to the West (1977–1978)
The Ogaden War (1977–1978) against Ethiopia (then under the Marxist Derg regime, also Soviet-backed) caused a rupture.
Somalia invaded Ethiopia’s Ogaden region to support ethnic Somali separatists.
Soviet Union and Cuba switched support to Ethiopia (~15,000 Cuban troops).
Somalia expelled Soviet advisors in 1977 and aligned with the United States, receiving ~$163 million in U.S. arms by 1980.
Clan-Based Repression & “Isaaq Genocide”
Despite Marxist rhetoric of unity, Barre favored his Marehan clan (Darod subclan) in key positions.
Formed the National Security Service (NSS) and Red Berets (elite military unit) to crush dissent.
In the north, the regime targeted the Isaaq clan after the Somali National Movement (SNM) rebellion in 1988.
Hargeisa and Burao were bombed; ~50,000–100,000 civilians killed (per Human Rights Watch).
~500,000 Isaaq fled to Ethiopia.
Economic Collapse
Centralized planning led to inefficiency; agricultural output plummeted.
By 1980s, Somalia became dependent on food aid and IMF structural adjustment.
Corruption and clan favoritism undermined socialist policies.
Fall of the Regime (1991)
Clan-based insurgencies (SNM in north, USC in south) converged on Mogadishu.
Barre fled on January 26, 1991.
Somalia descended into civil war and state collapse; Somaliland declared independence (unrecognized).
Legacy
Barre’s regime combined Marxist rhetoric with clan authoritarianism, alienating most Somalis.
Infrastructure built (e.g., roads, hospitals) was destroyed in the civil war.
The failure of “Scientific Socialism” discredited leftist ideologies in Somalia.
In short: A Soviet-backed Marxist military dictatorship that promised equality but devolved into clan-based tyranny, collapsed under rebellion and economic failure.
People said this exact same thing about the Irish in the 1800s. And the Italians. And the Germans. And the Poles. And the Jews. And basically every wave of newcomers since the Mayflower crowd started calling themselves “real Americans” about five minutes after stepping off the boat.
The pattern goes like this - “We worked hard! We assimilated! We followed the rules!”
But what everyone else actually said at the time was - “These people don’t speak our language, they’re crowding our cities, they’re taking jobs, they’re dirty, they have weird customs, they’re gonna ruin America.”
The whole “we used to get the good immigrants, now we get the bad ones” is kind of like saying your generation invented respect, while forgetting that your grandpa got yelled at for having long hair and listening to rock music.
As for “dumb rich people giving out freebies,” America has always had that happening too. Homesteading? Land grants? GI Bill? FHA loans that were only accessible to specific families for decades? We’ve been subsidizing certain groups since forever, we just didn’t call it “freebies” then. So yeah, the story hasn’t changed much. The cast just rotates. 20 years from now, we’ll probably hear someone say - “Sure, we were hardworking immigrants back in 20225 - but these new immigrants are the problem.”
None of those waves of migration were facilitated by taxing Americans to pay for the newcomers. They got jobs and built businesses to survive, except for the small number of organized ethnic crime groups. My grandpa was born in Poland, served in the US Army during WWII, made a point to speak English at home, and raised 5 American children. He worked in construction, didn’t take public assistance, and didn’t stand up bogus nonprofits that get funded by taxes.
You sound exactly like Dems in Maine, many of whom aren’t even from here, gaslighting the public into believing that this conception of immigration is the same as the ones in the past.
Here’s the Director of Maine’s Office of New Americans plainly stating that assimilation is not necessary.
There are literally no communities that still speak non-English European languages except the Amish in the USA, and they all speak excellent English.
The comparisons are false on many different levels, and it isn’t racist to not want to literally go to work to pay for people who are only in Maine to collect benefits.
