Objectivity doesn’t matter anymore. We are divided in to “normal” and “weirdo” ideology now and everything is just a catch phrase. There is no reconciliation to be had, especially via logical conversation. We can either learn to coexist in public space or see where escalating tension and violence goes.

I know the first vid is really just a bunch of pushy shovy stuff, but I think its just a matter of time before the real head crackers start showing up for the violence.
Glad to see both sides represented too. Reminds me of the old neighborhood gang fights they had when I was a kid. I was really hoping to see their little “base” get trashed like they do on college campuses to legitimate organizations with permission to be there.
On the subject of whether or not the National Guard is needed in various places across the country, this post from a mother in Lewiston poignantly explains the reality of living in a neighborhood where gun battles are now a part of daily life when just a few short years ago they were extremely rare, almost nonexistent.
There should be two of those towers. It would be the perfect set up.
Tolkien was actually deliberately ambiguous about which towers in Middle Earth were “The Two Towers”.

Saruman in the books was even worse, as he wasn’t killed atop Orthanc like he was in the movies, but cast out of the Istari by Gandalf to strip him of his ability to wield the Flame of Anor. He then went on to impose race-based social justice on the Shire in order to extract wealth and wield power, with the aid of internal collaborators like Lotho Sackville-Baggins.
The hobbits didn’t vote Saruman out, they organized a militia under Merry and Pippen, then slaughtered his forces. Wormtongue assassinated him by slitting his throat after snapping, who then got arrowed by hobbits as he tried to flee. It was a great ending to the book that sadly and understandably didn’t make it into the film.
Tolkien’s Own Explanation (from Letter 143, written in 1954 to Rayner Unwin)
“The Two Towers gets as near as possible to finding a title to cover the widely divergent Books 3 and 4; and can be left ambiguous—it might refer to Isengard and Barad-dûr, or to Minas Tirith and Barad-dûr, or to Isengard and Minas Morgul.”
He goes on to say:
“I am not wedded to any of the combinations, and the ‘two’ can be left somewhat mysterious.”
Even in that case it’s still all evil towers, so my original joke stands.
If you want to include Minas Tirith, it’s because of Denethor causing problems.
Minas Tirith wasn’t evil, unless you’re sympathetic to the social justice causes of orcs, trolls, and the “marginalized” men of Easterling and Haradrim communities.
