My guess, knowing the shooter had a very high IQ, made his target the man who seemed smarter than him. He felt there was high leverage in eliminating the obvious intelligence source.
Yesterday, I listened to quite a few of Kirk’s debates with college students. His immediate recall of vast amounts of detailed data reminded me of a boss I had that knew the part numbers of components of relatively complex boiler controls. He had a photographic memory. Kirk seemed likely to have one too.
IMO, the higher the IQ, the more calculating the behavior.
Since I don’t participate in leftist chat forums or servers, its just idle speculation on my part
BUT (here goes anyways…)
I speculate that he was somehow made public enemy #1 in a hate smear campaign. The reasons people give for hating him are in lockstep. They’re way too uniform, while also being completely uninformed of his actual messaging and format for engagement.
Perfect fidelity to a reason, with complete ignorance. Just like the news clips of anchors across the country saying the same exact things about the same subject at the same time.
Its fucked up. One central organization put a target on that dude and hit the hate button until somebody killed him.
The problem with this is that you have to compromise to leftist ideals to agree.
In reality the guy the left has framed as a poster child for “far right hate” and “fascism” hosted open forum debates, giving everyone a platform of speech.
Then he was shot for exercising his own free speech by a guy who resoundingly identified with far left ideals at that point in time. And it’s becoming suspiciously apparent there was a group effort, so it’s a little different than a deranged single actor.
And to @Andrewgen_Receptors point, there has been an overwhelming amount of praise for the killing, with calls for more.
This is from the same subset of people who burn buildings, loot and riot when someone from “their” community is killed, a black career criminal who beat women and died while under arrest for committing another crime.
The same subset who attempted to kill a baseball field full of senators and assassinate a president.
Antifa, as its own point.
All due to ideology.
It’s a pattern from a distinct and rapidly crystallizing identity.
And a large percentage, if not the majority of Americans, can see themselves as Charlie Kirk in the vitriol given his relatively moderate and actually tolerant stances in context. In an agree to disagree way.
Reality is normalization of radicalization and it has been building, with the majority of destructive force on the left, and openly supported by the left.
The right celebrated the Assassination of George Floyd. He certainly had different views/mistakes……fentanyl and something about harming pregnant woman……he didn’t deserve to die because of his views. He was a father too.
The value of his life was equal to that of Charlie Kirk.
