I completely agree. 4 years of Biden was needed. It just was. Now people know. A lot of people had to see it play out.
I am not one to ever frame politicians in those type of religious terms, but damn if it doesn’t seem like providence. Lots of really solid picks, lots of ambitious, clearly-defined plans and lots of momentum. It will be up to Republicans to fuck it up.
Even if another totally-not-a-bioweapon novel virus with a similar risk profile gets introduced, the response would be dramatically different than last time.
I can’t think of any trick Democrats could possibly have up their sleeves. I can’t think of how powerful business interest would derail this, even though they will certainly influence it. I can’t think of how foreign governments could run it off the rails, either.
Barring something completely unexpected or perhaps a Taiwan invasion sparking WWIII, I don’t see the Democrats being able to do much besides hang on where they can however they can, like they’re trying to do here in Maine.

Kids are going to have much better public schools.
People are going to line up behind it, because it is a fundamentally good movement. Flaws and all.
I’m optimistic, and I’m looking forward to people continuing to insist that I’m reading the situation all wrong. It’s what makes this fun, especially when work has been slow.

I see just a lot more people hopping on the Trump train and MAGA movement in the coming years than I see running back to woke. It is fundamentally non-racial in all of its ideas. Everyone’s welcome.
Democrats will eventually renounce woke just like they renounced segregation and slavery and Jim Crow. Malicious and shitty ideas can’t stay popular for long unless they completely take over the system.
It’s hard to make any argument whatsoever that Trump has plans of subverting our system of government or infringing on anyone’s rights. There will be zero women in the USA who will be unable to access an abortion in cases of medical necessity, rape, incest and similarly rare reasons. Otherwise just about every state will end up like somewhere in Europe on abortion, or be within a few hour drive of one that is. Women are going to be fine.
