I love it " you guys", I voted for him three times. I could care less about the anti-government MAGA agenda, we need to move forward or we risk not maintaining our lead in the world. But he has to do it in a way that maintains momentum, not make 1/4 of the electorate regret it in the first 6 months.
They know the risk they’re taking. Winked in or not they’re all aware coming here undocumented is against the law. This is why they pay shady coyotes to escort them through dangerous, nearly uninhabitable terrain even with all of today’s technology. Or smuggle a backpack of heroine through a cartel route to be sold in our country.
Big picture tolerance here degrades sovereignty, never mind the “bad hombre” element. Allowing them to stay is still a wink, even if many of them wait until the DNC is back in charge again. They’ll sneak in while it’s easy and then be fine. Or, send them back so they think twice even when the DNC is back in charge. Why make the effort if I’m going to get kicked out in a few years?
Imagine a venue bouncer guarding a gate for every other song, looking the other way in between and allowing the people who snuck in during the look-away songs to stay. Why even have a bouncer?

The problem is all of the people giving them attention to make them relevant. Who cares what some probable lesbian cat lady posts on tik tok?
I’m not sure that’s going to be possible no matter what anyone does.
So many people have been led to believe so many things that aren’t true at all. While I believe Democrats are responsible for the overwhelming majority of the dishonesty, many other people also believe all kinds of things that aren’t true.
I am optimistic that good ideas and honesty are going to be able to rise to the top. It just isn’t possible for the establishment politicians to control the narrative like it has been for literally thousands of years. Not when all a viewer or reader needs to do is click a few buttons and get a completely different view of reality that is often much-better supported with facts and reasoning.
We’re finally beginning to figure out the internet and growing in our capability to separate fact from bullshit.

Lack of literacy got it done for thousands of years, that’s long gone.
The printing press had limitations that were overcome with radio and later television broadcasting, which were resource-intensive productions not accessible to those lacking capital and political connections to navigate regulations. Those are going the way of the dodo now, with independent podcasters and the like completely annihilating legacy media in terms of viewership.
How are they going to get a handle on every Joe Rogan out there in the future? How are they going to get a handle on every person like me?
They aren’t. The window for any path to that level of information control is closing with the 2024 election and incoming border policy.
Of course people will remain susceptible to lies and manipulation, as we always have, but the antidote to falsehoods has never been more accessible than it is today.
In data management there is a term, authoritative data source (ads). That is the problem. A few clicks and you have a new narrative, but whether or not it is accurate is in doubt. I agree with you on transparency, but the information has to be from an ADS. Right now there is more BS out there than authoritative data. If you don’t trust Govt or dislike Govt it makes it even harder. Will be interesting.
MAGA is going to get the chance to Govern, can they deliver? That will carry more weight than anything. Governing is tougher than being a revolutionary. Usually, people don’t give a shit until it impacts them than they are the first whining and bitching… Will get real interesting when the Student Loans show back up or they can’t register their car because they didn’t pay tolls (run Govt as a business).
So long as humans are involved in determining what is authoritative and what is not, this idea will continue to backfire. Most sources who might have passed for an authoritative data source 10 years ago have completely squandered their credibility.
And now they cry that Joe Rogan has more influence.

Vrain-Lucas managed to fool some of the best educated people in France in the 19th century. People still believe the Protocols are real.
Can’t argue. Even in technical fields ADS is a nightmare.
