I think most of agree about the real problems, and do have different ideas about what to do to fix them.
The issue is we’re focusing on the icing, not the cake.
Yeah, there are problems with people coming here to work, and doing so very well, but being in limbo on citizenship while holding up the heavy end of a lot of industries.
Then that being conflated with the current movement of removing illegals indiscriminately, when its really just the border stormers, rent seekers, and criminals that need to be fucked off.
All a product of the hands off/catch & release approach of previous admin. The pendulum swings like a mindless object.
Everyone (rightwing) is worried about the NY mayor situation.
One thing that’s interesting about NY city is there is a crime fighting group there called “Guardian Angels”.
I was chatting with my bro in law a month back, he was a prison guard and he told me he was in NY (he was not in his room at night) (he was out amongst the sketchy night life) but he was getting harassed bigtime by a crazy person, so he called the cops. The first person to arrive was a Guardian Angel and he said it a really awesome encounter from there and very interesting that these guys are doing what they do.
I think everyone right wing is thrilled with the situation. Just goes to show how absolutely out of touch white, upper class liberals are with reality. If Fidel does win, NY will be a perfect example of why liberalism is a disease.

I think there might be a real race in NYC this year. There has never been a Democratic nominee for NYC mayor more able to be taken down by an independent or a Republican.
If they go whole hog on capital S Socialism, it is going to provide the most visible example of why the system sucks.
Or maybe I’ll be proven wrong by a new era of prosperity and a growing human consciousness blossoming in the Big Apple.

The idea is actually growing me, the last years of my life, if I’m alone, live free, out of a suitcase.
Being jacked and stacked old man eating sardines, peanuts, oysters crashing where I can. Lifting stones and trees also hitting the local sh!tness facilities, dancing in the streets with the youth.
Just keep enough funds in case I need a hotel here and there.
Having made it well into my 70’s, I cannot imagine not having a comfortable home as anything but a poor option. If time further erodes my physical capacities, I don’t see my 80’s being easier.
In my 20’s and 30’s I can see myself making that statement, but much has degraded in the past 40+ years.
Which ones?
The last “weee! Fun!” ones?
The last “not bad, but man I need a nap” ones?
Or the very last, “Nurse! Empty my leg bag, I’m about to blow a catheter!” last ones?
