And could this not also perhaps be reminiscent of confirmation bias? I ask this hypothetically, because it’s absolutely possible you are seeing what is known as the anecdotal evidence fallacy
Here’s one looking at America
“, we are seeing a gender gap amongst today’s youngest voters—aged 18 to 29—with young women being significantly more Democratic in their political leanings than young men.”
So while you have observed attractive young women are more conservative, study after study in most western countries including America pegs young women as rapidly SPRINTING towards the left, and this has been my experience as a young man observing young women gravitating towards what I can the “feminist bullshit”.
Many will compromise those values in a heartbeat when exposed to men they are attracted to but fundamentally at the end of the day put them in a room to vote and they’ll vote for “anti patriarchy” ideology or whatever… Keep in mind I am not saying this to be combative nor am I trying to invalidate your observations… I am sure your observations are legit. For instance it could be specific to the school your son attends or specific to the town you live in!
But according to the wide swathe of data we have on this subject the conclusion “young women (generally most likely demographic to be physically attractive) are overwhelmingly sprinting to the left”
I have mentioned I have attractive female cousins from Europe… all far left… my attractive female cousins in America are left wing to centre left. Remember I AM a young person, I am the same age as your son and I have lived in America, I have lived in Israel, Australia and I’ve spent maybe 4 months in Europe and my observation is women are running towards the left and the divide between men and women is becoming wider by the day as a huge swathe of men feel alienated and cast out by the left yet the left simultaneously provides a safe haven for women under what I like to call “victimhood ideology”. “Young men increasingly feel as though they have been experiencing discrimination over the past four years.”
I’d actually like to know what @BrickHead thinks about this. Mr Brick! Mr Sir Sirrington! Where do you believe young women (18-25) are more likely to situate themselves on the sociopolitical spectrum in 2025… Mr Dr Sir Esquire the second!
America is a very diverse country. What is happening in Maine isn’t necessarily equivalent to what is happening in New York, or Philadelphia, or Los Angles etc. Things can vary so much from town to town let alone state to state
That was one of the things I found very strange about America. In Australia the only difference is really “rural vs city”. Otherwise it’s all essentially the same… In America southern culture is a far cry away from the culture up north but southern culture could mean Texas, Louisiana, Virginia etc and the midwest is also different… If you are from a small town in particular it’s very possible you have tightly knit communities… more likely to be homogenous in political opinion
I can’t invalidate your anecdotes… but you can’t invalidate mine either… The studies don’t lie here either and they have been accounted for bias… they clearly reflect young men are going right quite rapidly in response to feeling alienated and stomped on/discarded by society (white men in particular being told they are a cause for all the worlds problems… a bullshit narrative so full of holes it might as well be the swiss cheese of sociopolitical dogmas) … and women gravitate left because modern leftism sucks the proverbial teet of fifth wave feminism
Very destructive and divisive… I used to not quite understand what people got at when they said left wing ideology was destructive… Modern left wing ideology left of centre seeks to dismantle the nuclear familial dynamic although it would appear as if there has been a subtle push to do this for some time now. I understand now
Had it not been for identity politics and feminism I would have probably remained left for longer… However integration into the real world (and real world economic policy) also pushed me centre right although I still have some “leftoid” views such as believing a safety net should exist for people who need to take medication/need frequent doctors visits… making insulin fofr instance cost thousands of dollars leading to poor people dying from type I diabetes or having to sell everything they own as if they are addicted to heroin to get a “fix” of the insulin they need to stay alive is absolutely insane to me… and my one male American friend calls fixing this issue “communism”… WHAT!
