Trump 2025 - Resuming The National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity (Part 1)

Someone did the numbers and this is how trump arrived at his “tariff” numbers

So no, these other countries don’t need to have tariffs on us, the number is arrived at by figuring out the trade deficit and calling that a tariff, and if we have a trade surplus with them they still get 10% just because

Sure, but it doesn’t change the fact that most European nations have taken advantage of this situation by dramatically slashing their own defense budgets.

I highly recommend watching the Mark Felton video’s I’ve shared here, as it lays out a rather damning picture of the UK’s military readiness. He’s since released more on his youtube channel.

Why shouldn’t the United States subsidize the countries of Earth.

“From each according to their ability, to each according to their need.”

But the price they have paid for that is that America has gotten to wield its power in the region

So couldn’t we also say America has taken advantage of our military position by leveraging our power over the EU to make them do what we want and allowing us to do it without push back

If a husband and wife decide she will be a stay at home mom, the husband doesn’t get to come back in 3 years complaining he is the only One contributing financially and she is a leech

Memories to last a lifetime!

Overhead anything sucks more than any regular work position.

I worked for a guy like at Newport News too. He’d also arc flash me from time to time just to keep me on my toes!

By doing what they want us to do? I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the nature of political power. What we are seeing now is the wielding of American political power. I understand being shocked by this. I am, too. Everything that’s happening is a LOT to get one’s head around.

The catharsis of writing about it here for almost 10 years now has been very helpful for me to cope with it, along with working to understand it the entire way.

Consider this perspective:

Why hasn’t the UN deployed peacekeepers to Lewiston, Maine? We just had a double murder plus a suicide in the adjacent town of Sabbattus, about 5 minutes away from me. That was yesterday’s routine news.

Our elections are also rigged. We need the men in blue helmets!

Goin’ extra slow on purpose?

Musta been a Union guy.

Oh!

Our dudes in Taiwan gave some hurricane relief money to North Carolina.

My opinion is he wants fair trade and its America first

and what he actually thinks…no-body but himself knows that

So, we still imposed less percentage of tariffs on the other countries…mostly 50% less

We don’t need to know! Either way, we trust him to do what’s right.

No… there need not be a tariff

The chart is showing that There is a trade deficit that they are calling a tariff, not that there is a tariff. There need not be a tariff to get on that list and in many cases there isnt.

And even if we have a trade SURPLUS you still get a 10% tariff. AKA they have no tariff against us, they buy more from us than we do from them (the thing trump wants) … and you still get a punishment.

This is why people call MAGA a cult

We don’t know or need to know what hes thinking, even what he is saying could be completely opposite of what he intends to do, just have to trust him I guess

Im sure you gave Biden and Obama all the same leeway

Again, we come to opposite conclusions. I don’t trust any politician by default, but Trump has earned mine when his actions tend to align with his previously-stated words, with levels of inconsistency I find acceptable for a human being. Obama had my trust, then lost it. Biden neither had it nor earned it.

You call us a cult, but you seem to BELIEVE IT IS POSSIBLE TO KNOW WHAT TRUMP IS THINKING, and are seemingly upset that his internal thoughts are not being explained to your liking.

Dialectical materialism leads to some wild, wild ideas. Marx’s philosophy literally means “mind reality”, in the parlance of the time.

I claim to know what he is thinking in so far as the words falling out of his mouth correlate to those thoughts.

If trump SAYS tariffs will take is back to the gilded age… to me that means he also THINKS that. Does that make sense?

If trump says he is going to deport illegals, to me that means he is thinking that. Dont you think he wants to deport the illegals?

If trump says he thinks other countries are screwing us over because of a trade deficit, to me that means he thinks that

Unless I am supposed to completely disregard literally everything trump says??

I don’t claim to know what he is thinking about in terms of reading his mind, knowing what he wants for breakfast, or his true hearts desire

If trump says a thing to me that means that is what he thinks. I don’t understand how that is unreasonable

The other conclusion is that nothing he says is reliable (which is often true about trump), but that doesn’t strike me as any way to evaluate someone’s positions rationally, and at that point there is no reason to even try

Maybe the President has a proven track record.

Maybe the President has attracted a large Cult of Personality.

Who can tell anymore?

Yes, that’s how I tend to evaluate people’s words when they say them, and then the actions and outcomes that follow. Trump has followed through on more campaign promises than anyone in my lifetime, doing what Reagan promised but never delivered on, plus MUCH more.

Trump is a celebrity in every sense of the word, but I don’t see a personality cult. If you ask a Trump supporter why they admire him, they’ll usually be able to explain it in a way that is understandable. I would argue that Obama’s “personality cult” was MUCH more cultish and irrational.

Let’s give it a shot.

What would you consider Obama’s greatest accomplishment to be as a President?

How about Biden?

.

Biden! Thinking!

In the same conversation!

What the hell is a cultured personality?

Did we just go through this with Schumer, where you accused me of being hyperbolic and pedantic for thinking that he meant what he said, within the context of the political violence taking place?

Yeah. We did.

Ok. Just checking.
