Trump bent over backwards for this little asshole.
Trump’s staff reportedly asked Little Z to wear a suit and tie, but of course z didn’t. Then a reporter gave him shit and asked him why he was in the WH at such an important event but not wearing a suit and tie; Trump then defended Little Z, saying he liked what he was wearing.
Well, Little Z definitely behaves like someone with F U money, so we can be pretty sure where some (a lot?) of that missing $100 billion Little Z claims Ukraine never got “disappeared” to.
My theory now is that this was a ploy for Little Z to insert himself into the peace talks, after being shut out from the Big Boys table at the first set of US - Russia talks in Saudi Arabia.
I’m not naive. It just makes zero sense that he would do that.
“Ukraine doesn’t want peace” is utter bullshit.
It’s rather than Zelensky is too proud to lick anyone’s boots and Ukraine is not willing to agree to everything. It might be a mistake, but it’s not that they want this to go on.
White House wanted a humble visitor that would bend over when asked, they got a cocky Zelensky.
Crossing his arms, rolling his eyes, lecturing Trump on how the large ocean can only protect the US for so long…
Asking Little Z to lick boots??? WTF are you talking about??? How about behaving with normal, everyday respect? And this was not just a normal meeting, it was supposed to be a formal linkage of economic interests.
The video only reinforces what I’ve said before. Zelensky is a proud and stiff negotiator. He doesn’t try please anyone and don’t sign any deal if its not beneficial.
I was talking generally. US did not want he to lick boots, but be humble and apologetic. Z thinks he’s doing the right thing and is not going to be these things. Like I said, it might be a mistake. Sometimes you just need to be quiet no matter how right you are.
It’s easy to do in these conversations. I did not mean they are.
I’ve said before that it’s kinda sad to see the whole thing come down to Zelensky, because he is not the focus of the subject, just a piece among others.
I hope Ukraine will appoint another negotiator, since there’s so much at stake.
It’s purely hypothetical, and existence of any nation next to Russia are potential threats if you ask them. Just check the Putin’s ultimatum from 2021.
Finland’s (a NATO country) border is just 200km from Russia’s second largest city. How’s that for a potential threat.
Russia has used the same Casus Belli over and over again. Cechnya was a threat, Georgia was a threat, Finland was a threat in 1939 when Soviet Union attacked here (latter it came clear that taking Finland was a part of Molotov-Rippentrop -pact), so the whole “threat” -thing was a lie.
The problem with Russia’s foreign policy is that they lie constantly, and have gotten caught too many times to have any reliability. So when Putin says he wants peace in Ukraine, it means nothing, until the actions prove it to be true.
