Trump 2025 - Resuming The National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity (Part 1)

Biden wasn’t negotiating with Putin because he had no interest in letting Putin keep the parts of Ukraine he stole via the invasion (we can agree that Russia invaded Ukraine right? Trump can’t seem to get that part right either)

Reasonable people can agree if that’s a worthwhile or realistic goal or not

The current negotiations seem to be happening under the guise of Russia not stealing any more land, but keeping their currently stolen land … which im sure they will definitely not go back on, and given trumps word meaning absolutely nothing why would they sign any deal with the US and trump in good faith? He could rip it up next week and complain it was a terrible deal just like he’s doing with own trade deal with Canada right now

Now, trump saying Ukraine started the war, or that he never said the things he said, might all be negotiation tactics in service of stopping the war at all costs even if it means Ukraine loses the territory Russia stole, which im inclined to think it is, but that wasn’t the policy or goal of the US under Biden (and generally in the past I don’t think making deals with Russia to keep their stolen land was on the table), hence the difference in strategy

To me is speaks more broadly to a future where the US is seen less as an ally you can depend on, and will eventually lead to an erosion of americas standing and reach into the world at large as we currently enjoy now, the entire reason we enjoy the massive leverage we currently enjoy now. Time will tell I suppose.

If you believe that the President’s tough talk is a negotiating tactic, do you feel that the story you posted was Fake News?

We were never, not once in history, an ally of Ukraine. That’s an actual word with meaning and implications. We are allies with NATO. If you scroll up you can see where I outlined the details of our agreement with Ukraine, which we’ve upheld.

The Ukrainians are free to continue fighting this war if they want, taking out all the loans they want and even drafting their young men and women, none of which they’ve done.

If it was that big of a deal to normal Ukrainians, why aren’t they in a state of total war?

For an example of what that looks like, we kept the UK from being economically strangled with a program called Cash and Carry, which preceded Lend/Lease and our entrance into WWII. If the gold is still in Ft. Knox, which hopefully Elon will livestream to us soon, a very significant amount of it should be from the UK’s Royal mint as payment for all of the material we risked American merchant marine lives to deliver.

It was Cash and Carry because they defaulted on the loans we provided in WWI. Lend/Lease was on once we entered the war, and it was more of a loan. The UK finally paid it back in full in the year 2006.

This will be a good essay for me to write later. What a ride that term has had.

What’s the fake news?

It’s a video clip of trump, what’s fake news about it ?

You are free to draw your own conclusions based on it but he said what he said in the video

My short answer would be manufacturing narratives in the absence of facts. The news has to say something they think will sell, and that’s how we end up with The New York Times citing “sources familiar with Trump’s thinking”, as if that’s even a thing, and then writing a whole story about how Trump’s going to play his dictator hand in 2019 and that the “walls are closing in on him” for the bazillionth time.

In this case, you’re citing very short instagram clip that isn’t fake news. The Hill isn’t a bad source as far as Mainstream sources go.

Fake news would be more like taking that clip, saying that it’s a bad omen, predicting that x,y, and z will happen, validating the feelings of your most rabid audience, and repeating that cycle as long as it’s bringing home the bacon.

It would also appear that our tax dollars have been paying fake news to lie to us.

Do you think fake news is a myth?

Obviously not, I agree with almost everything you’ve said in this post

I was specifically talking about the things trump said in the video clip I posted , in general i try to provide only primary sources with as little editorial and opinion as possible for the discussions i bring up

Then why do you constantly talk about Ukraine being a friend/ally? When did this blossom?

You’re right, not fake news.

You made the comment about cognitive decline, not the article. And I guess you were just making a point about a Double Standard for the two Presidents, not really making the accusation of cognitive decline.

I addressed this earlier, with primary sources, if you are interested, in short we have a protection agreement with them in exchange for them giving up their nukes in the 90s in addition to them being largely friendly with the west in general.

Certainly we are historically on friendlier terms with Ukraine than with Russia yes?

That was me opining on what type of comments that video might generate if Biden was making similar statements last year, I wasn’t presenting it as statements of facts

Although I can see how that could be interpreted as a bit of JAQing off, which is a type of fake news in and of itself

I think you are assuming that Trump voters are way more cultish than we are. I’m a massive fan at this point, but he’s earned that from me. My mom was a rabid fan from the beginning, and a very smart woman who was behind him for all the right reasons the entire time. She, and many others, discerned it before I did.

I haven’t met anyone who doesn’t believe he’s fallible and still has flaws. Part of what the left still doesn’t get is that Trump’s election was more about them than anything Trump has said or done. The carefully curated presentations of Obama, Cllinton(s) and Biden especially were more like watching actors in a play, rather than people hard at work.

Joe Rogan will likely go down as the most influential media figure in American political history for the same reason Trump will go down as one of the greatest Americans. You cannot fake authenticity, and people respect authenticity.

By being authentic, those two men have redefined what it takes to get elected in the USA, and that is such an awesome development IMO. I don’t want anymore actors.

If you can’t easily talk about what you do for an hour, you don’t know what it is that you do.

The media matrix is completely shattered, and nobody on the left knows what to do right now.

I actually have a call with one of Lewiston’s state representatives tomorrow, now the second elected Democrat to reach out to me. I actually have a way out of the cult for her. She’s a really smart Lewiston gal, too.

Good for you.

The only reasonable democrats I’ve seen/heard who give logical, reasoned pushback are Harold Ford, Jr. from The Five tv show, and Dan Turrentine from the YT channel 2Way with Mark Halperin, Sean Spicer, and Turrentine.

I’m actually offering pro bono political advice to Maine Democrats. The smart ones can read the room, and I’m not sure anyone in Maine is explaining the room at my depth in our little corner that requires an attention span and isn’t just memes.

Time to reject the DSA. Begin by calling out the Maine Reddit Klan, whose activities are already perfectly on par with the the Indiana Klan of 100 years ago. It may well be of a similar scale, when you consider the people who are okay with the activity.

Their support, if Reddit is any indication, is already greater than that of the Maine Klan of 100 years ago. The most they ever got together in one spot was 200, and they achieved very little. Indiana was a whole different beast.

This isn’t the time to unleash the crazies by calling Mainers fascists, Nazis or white supremacist. Maine if FUCKEN AHMED and nothing good will come of it.

Jesse Watters is what they call a provocateur, and 'Da Left hates him with a passion.

Watters said, I don’t do podcasts because I don’t want to have to answer the follow up questions LOLLL.

I guess we just have completely different ideas of what authenticity is, because I don’t see an ounce of it from trump

Hell even in the clip that kicked off this discussion it’s him denying the thing he said a few days ago

A “cult member” would find reasons to call that authentic or find some way to justify it in my opinion. It has to be a master negotiating tactic (that everyone sees right through), not him lying. Super authentic

That is only one of the hundreds of examples of him lying and denying things that he has said. How is that authentic ?

There is no descent into that world, much of which is fake news or great rhetorical stretches, which can collectively overcome Trump’s unprecedented acts of authenticity, of which I’ll name three that on their own overcome all of your old fake news “fact checks” you wanted us to believe in then, too.

If reflecting on the past is your thing, maybe go check out some old threads and the narratives you believed were true at the time. If you want me to forget about these three things, along with a whole lot else, to fixate on something trivial or some bought-and-paid-for hack’s hit piece from the last decade, well, it isn’t happening.

Here’s the Big Three of Authenticity that come to my mind first.

  1. Standing up after getting shot to yell “Fight”, covered in blood, still uncertain of the situation.

  2. Doing a 3 hour unscripted Joe Rogan, which you should listen to. Throw in all the other podcasts for good measure, which Kamala refused to do, because she simply couldn’t pull it off.

  3. Just over a month in, he’s been the most authentic president of my lifetime, by far, and it isn’t even close. I don’t think you fully grasp what he’s doing here. Eisenhower, Nixon and Reagan all said they’d do something similar, then got in and realized it wasn’t happening.

In 2025, it’s happening.
