During the 2015–2016 celebrations of New Year’s Eve in Germany, approximately 1,200 women were reported to have been sexually assaulted, especially in the city of Cologne. In many of the incidents, while these women were in public spaces, they were surrounded and assaulted by large groups of men who were identified by officials as Muslim men of Arab or North African origin.[11][12][13][14] The Federal Criminal Police Office confirmed in July 2016 that 1,200 women had been sexually assaulted on that night.
Crazy how when you do it for free you’re a beacon of hope and freedom.
But you ask for something in return and its mercenary enclave.
How much is my son worth to you? Cuz he means the world to me.
What should we ask for in exchange for our blood?
We’re already mercenaries - we just aren’t getting paid for it.
EDIT:
@SkyzykS beat me to it
Yeah, that stuff occurs to me when I look at my son and think back to like the late 80’s and the run up to the Gulf War.
I was ready to fucking go! Took the asvab, signed up, took the oath, got my contract, the whole shebang.
I don’t want that for my son. I’ve worked with .orgs helping disabled vets that got blown up and all kinds of other nastiness. Even my one brother that excelled in the enlisted ranks and did a full career has expressed misgivings about the motives of the people he served under and what was done.
I don’t appreciate foreigners thinking we have an obligation to just throw our kids into the meat grinder so that they don’t have to experience some discomfort or inconvenience.
The real issue is American “leaders” who feel that way because war is good for business.
We need to remember that the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were our wars but other countries sent their kids into the meat grinder to support our poor decisions.
Yeah, and it ingratiates them to other assholes like themselves.
Like a club where they’re members, but we pay their dues.
Trump has/will do some good things. However, realize he is in the billionaire class and that’s where his loyalties lie. Like when he passed his tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy/corporations. The majority, 83% went to the top. So his economic policy is give more to those who already more than enough. No thanks!
In case you missed it.
Cuz its true!
Actually, I like his plans to let people keep the money they earn, especially with regard to overtime wages, because the grand fallacy of trickle down economics is the premise that once the people at the top get enough, they’ll give the rest to the underlings.
That simply doesn’t happen.
Trump gave him the job first term and I’m inclined to believe that they fired him for the right ideological reasons. He probably was a great officer and picked the wrong ideological train to hop on.
Make no mistake about it, I voted for an ideological purge, which Trump was clear enough about, even though I don’t think he used that exact term. So far, this administration is exceeding my expectations.
I’ve never seen anything like it, and I don’t think anyone else has before, either. They are pulling every lever imaginable in the Executive branch, but the funding is going to be the real nail.
If we’ve seen anything like this before, it was the assembling of everything currently being torn down. I’m old enough to remember what it looks like we’re going back to at the federal level. The right word for what Trump is doing is a counter-revolution.
It’s going to be great. YOOGE. Trust me, young warrior.
I had a 3 hour talk with a city councilor (not mine) this weekend. There is a LOT of panic in Maine right now. A local farmer may have to begin growing and selling food to Mainers. His funding to grow and send organic vegetables to an NGO organization I can’t recall somewhere overseas has been frozen. A few other stories like that.
1 in 6 Maine workers is employed at a nonprofit, compared to 1 in 10 nationwide. Many of these are healthcare and a lot of other great organizations that run ethically, but there are a LOT of grifters.
The team is assembled with all nominees in, both houses are in MAGA control and we have the Supreme Court aligned with our ideology of core American values, for lack of a better word. And boy, they are going pedal to the metal. Totally uncharted waters for the USA.
Meanwhile, Tulsi’s graceful and majestic ascension to her ultimate destiny continues unabated, as do my efforts at subtly seducing her here with my promise of an odyssey of ecstasy. I know you’re reading, @Tulsi.
The Spy Who Loved Me?
I predict Tulsi will eventually inherit Trump’s global conquests and the dictatorial powers he will surely assume.
She will surpass even Sorghaghtani in her competence and might, becoming the most powerful woman in history with me by her side.
How likely do you think it is that Trump will take action against the cartels in Mexico?
Mexico wants to amend its constitution over cartels’ terrorist designation
Very likely. From a purely political standpoint, it is a win unless it starts costing American lives.
Whether it’s drone strikes or boots on the ground raids on cartel targets, I’m not sure. Maybe something else, but I don’t see Mexico stopping it, even if they are still en fuego about the Gulf of America being properly named.
He could’ve called it The Nacho Gulf, but he took the high road.
Protecting the drug dealers or fighting them?
The drug dealers are 2 Delta Force, 1 Ranger from the 75th regiment, and 1 SEAL.
Heads of the Jalisco cartel.
It doesn’t work that way. They can call it the Gulf of Mexico if they want, just like the Rio Bravo.
Also, is he going to change the name of every American city, state, river, mountain range, etc., that’s Spanish?
But as I’ve said, I’m ok with yet another geographical feature being given an Italian name.
Hey man, If some dude named Ralph can put on a dress and some makeup and insist that people officially address him as Raphaella while he drops a deuce in the ladies room, Trump can call the gulf what ever the hell he wants.
In that case, we know he would have named it the Gulf of Trumpsylvania.
