Finns are particularly famous for their poor expression and small talk skills, so the culture shock was real, even for me who is a pretty social guy.
Just because we are always curious if there is anything Trump could do that would cause his base to waiver…
In a hypothetical where Bondi releases the Epstein Files and it has 100%, rock solid proof Trump was a multi-time child rapist, would you want to see swift justice enacted upon him? Or would we something else like a full self pardon so he could continue being president?
If I were a betting man I would expect to see some strategic redactions to prevent any undue political witch hunts
Bold strategy Cotton!
Nope.
I’d want him publicly beaten and dismembered. No exceptions for that kind of violation. And trying to lodge a legal defense to an act like that is a mockery of justice.
Eye for an eye. Someone preys on the weak and defenseless, they get thrown to the wolves to find out what that really means.
I voted for him 3 times. Everyone who abused kids should be shot.
If Trump FINALLY turns out to be the rapist and monster people have been accusing him of, OR it turns out he is torturing toddlers in his basement OR it turns out he is facilitating a Red Dawn Russian invasion with Putin, I would immediately write my representatives to impeach and remove him from office.
It is unfortunate that so many people have believed so many people who have demonstrated their untrustworthiness for the last decade. It is happening right now in Maine, where many people believe I am a National Socialist.
A second local business that just opened yesterday is already under attack by Socialist brownshirts. It is an inclusive daycare for children with special needs and children without special needs to be cared for together. The owner is a lifelong Lewiston resident who has made public comments at school committee meetings criticizing our leadership. She is being called a white supremacist.
I appreciate the abstract thought experiment, but I prefer to stay grounded in reality.
How did I know Lewinston and socialism was gonna get woven in there somehow
But hey look, common ground!
I’ll even go so far as to say i support the stoppage of penny production trump has enacted
As much as it annoys people who wish to exist in a fictional media narrative where they are the hero, political reality is taking place all around me.
If this upsets you, BlueSky exists.
No one is upset, it’s just funny that I ask a question about trump diddling kids and you manage to find a way to add 2 paragraphs about Lewiston
It’s more funny than upsetting
I’m happy to amuse you with the dysfunction and politics of destruction in my town that is happening to my neighbors. Many here in Maine find similar joy.
I’m sure you find it hilarious that children get assaulted and learn very little in my public schools while teachers attempt to manage a classroom with children speaking 8 different languages.
LOL, right?
This is such a wonderful comparison video. Instead of Lewiston, I’ll switch back to Tolkien to summarize my thoughts on the differences between Obama and Trump, illustrated in this video.
“I think a servant of the enemy would look fairer and feel fouler."
-Frodo Baggins
Surely you can’t think that’s what I find funny about it
And if it is the gap between our communication may be too big to cross
At $0.032 per penny, it just doesnt make cents.
I’d probably even be okay with the nickel, and hell maybe the dime. I wonder if there’s an accounting for how much actual cash transactions are happening as a percentage these days
Just make a law a business has to round up/down to the nearest if it’s in cash and call it a day on these old, inflated-out-of-relevance coins
Edit:if AI is to be trusted: Cash Transaction Statistics 2024
According to the Federal Reserve’s 2024 findings, cash is used for approximately 16% of all transactions in 2024. Additionally, the Federal Reserve reports that nearly half (49%) of transactions under $10 are made with cash. However, globally, point-of-sale transactions are 85% cashless in 2024, and in the U.S., an estimated 86.9% of all transactions are cashless in 2024.
Everything I describe is real, and it is all connected to national-level politics.
I’m also writing a book about Lewiston, which seems to require new chapters every week, so this is my idea dumping ground. T-Nation’s always been my idea dumping ground.
It’s your fault for clicking on a twojarslave thread. I’ve always wondered where @Mufasa and @H_factor and @loppar have gone. They used to be a reliable source of new Trump threads for nearly every “news” story that explained our imminent demise to the public.
I still find them somewhat useful, for the sake of accuracy at least.
If crytpto takes off as a real means of transaction or debit/credit becomes more of the norm, we might see that.
I hate banks though. They follow their own rules and defer to policy way too much for me to trust. Its like, once you give them your actual cash money, good luck getting it back. I was cash only until I bought a house.
The numbers I found above state that 84% of transactions globally are cashless currently. Cant be much more “the norm” than that really
How much cash is still used in US? It’s relatively rare here.
Ps. I don’t think cryptos (as they are now) will be the future for economy. Too volatile and unstable to be as a currency. They’re used mostly as a stock speculation/investing tool.
Cash is extremely common still.
Maine has legal cannabis, which is still federally illegal, but rarely enforced. All recreational cannabis stores in Maine are cash-only.
This is due to banks and payment processors not wishing to insert themselves into something of disputed legality.
I am firmly opposed to cashless society. That’s way too much control that could easily get into the wrong hands.
I always tip restaurant servers in cash, trusting that the full amount of my tip will be included in their tax filings.
For sure. I just didn’t have any better way to say it.
