Trump 2025 - Resuming The National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity (Part 1)

Sometimes it’s necessary in order to be understood.

I have no doubt that you have judged that to be true, but I have never had any difficulty communicating with any native English speaker from anywhere in the world. Certainly not in the USA.

Maine accents can be pretty difficult to understand if you’re hit with a really thick one from one of the rural or coastal insular populations. It is on par with Louisiana Cajuns, which is no surprise since they are both Acadian in origin. I can’t even begin to mimic it after almost 20 years, nor could those guys begin to speak in a flat midwestern accent like mine.

Apparently Trump made an offer that US should have 50% from Ukraines natural resources. Once Ukraine declined he has sided with Putin. Not sure what the dictator has offered in contrary.

I speak Spanish using distinction but most Spanish speakers in the US use seseo. If they are unaware that there is another acceptable way to pronounce words it can be weird. I also use vosotros which they don’t.

With English, if someone is from the inner city, they may talk a certain way with their friends or family but they wouldn’t talk that way in the boardroom.

A Jamaican might speak patois with other Jamaicans but not in other situations.

Everybody everywhere has different language filters they use at home, with friends and at work. It is normal to speak other languages with a different accent, as you have to pick one or will just pick up a particular accent based on how you acquired that language. I was told my German accent is quite good, and very Bavarian. That’s just how it ended up with no real conscious effort on my part.

What I’m talking about needs no explanation. Everyone knows it when they see it, and it is pretty cringe. Biden’s “Put y’all back in chains!”, Kamals Detroit and Southern accents, and Hillary’s MANY accents over the years are good examples of what I’m talking about.

It’s mostly a white person problem from what I’ve observed. I don’t think I’ve ever spoken to a black, Indian, Asian, or African guy who tried to mimic my flat midwestern accent. It is funny when they make fun of us, too.

Here’s Trump having fun with it, like a normal person.

I have had foreigners and other Americans get angry for pointing this fact out. Why, I’d love to know.

Generally-speaking, I think people get defensive about that because the USA is a very big place. If you exclude our 10 largest cities, our violent crime rate is on par with just about anywhere else in the world.

A dramatic increase in violent crime has been one of the most obvious changes in Maine with DSA leadership calling the shots. When I moved here Maine had crime rates on par with most of Scandinavia, and Lewiston was one of the safest cities of its size in the country, despite being a working-class college town and not an upscale suburb like Brentwood, TN or Carmel, IN.

Weekly shootings are a normal occurrence in my city now. Years, YEARS used to pass with no shots fired in anger.

Related to this, I learned yesterday that whoever was running Biden’s teleprompter directed ICE to NOT DEPORT ANY people eligible to be deported for the duration of the administration, at least in Maine.

You could have murdered a guy in Maine and would not be deported. I believe a few instances of this has taken place, and certainly MANY violent assaults and shootings.

I know people don’t like to confront this fact, but we were being taken down as a society from within. It was nothing short of a plan to drive the nation into perpetual civil conflict to bring about one party rule.

Permanent grift was the goal, make no mistake about it.

I think that, within a few years, it will be widely accepted that MAGA is the first true opposition party this country has seen in my lifetime, perhaps much longer than that.

It really was “same stuff on both sides” for a long time, at least when it came to protecting the grift. It is becoming increasingly clear to me that grifting has been the main goal of the United States government for quite some time.

That likely is a reason.

As said, there are also foreigners who are annoyed by recognition of this. And as I mentioned previously, I think this is because they get disappointed by their model country not living up to the concocted image they have of it. For reasons @SepCalla stated, and others I suspect, is hung up on America. I’m not saying this with sarcasm, but I also think much of the world also wants to be hip (kewl) like Americans, even if that involves absorbing our worst trends.

I have been following your totally legitimate complaints about where you live. I can empathize considering, though I have lived on Long Island since 2017, for the remainder of my 45 years, I resided in Queens and did not confine activities to that one borough of NYC, and years ago posted about the reprehensible crime waves it experienced years ago, and the pathetic rate of crime there generally. I also posted about my female cousins who work in Manhattan, one of whom had personal experience with harassment and intimidation. There are actually people who scoff at such mention. “Heehee bro, it’s not as bad as it was in da 80’s”. “Heehee, just move!” “There’s no increase in crime; it just seems like that cuz of social media and increased reporting on it.” Meanwhile such occurrences are pathetic to begin with and have resulted in deaths and serious injury and subsequent mental disturbance for victims.

The US has the highest incarceration rate in the world. A foreigner dismissed such an important fact upon mention of it too.

I truly want to know the mental workings of such dismissive people, especially the foreigners amongst them. At one time I had a hunch there was a hint of sadism in them, though I obviously could be wrong.

I actually was going to ask your opinion on such people weeks ago but I wasn’t posting much due to being busy and low on spare energy.

I would say that American culture can definitely be seen in Europe. US culture and society comes throught a lot from entertaimnent. So things will transfer. But we don’t have too rosy image of your country. All the social, economical etc. problems are common knowledge of ours.

There are also bunch of not-so-nice cultural stereotypes (are these ever nice?) about americans. Noisy, pompous, stupid, fat + guns comes to my mind at first. Hahah.

I would actually like to know what stereotypes you guys have from europeans? They don’t need to be realistic at all, just the things what comes to your mind first when you think of an average european.

Fashionable, good looking, more educated and refined, gullible, altruistic, slim or muscular. I’ve only been to a few countries. I could be off with this generalization.

My mom takes vacations all over Europe in her retirement and she usually begins description of her experiences with how good looking the men are.

You’re being way too polite. Hahah.

I actually think those stereotypes fit perfectly to mediterranean countries, like Italy.

If I may here’s some positive stereotypes of americans too: hard working, open and friendly.

I’ve been in US twice and I felt the friendliness (everybody chatting with you) almost exhausting. Second time when I got back, I spend some time in UK and was relieved of how rude people were towards me in stores and pubs. Hahah.

Everyone stay buckled up. A helmet might also be a good idea for our lefties.

Trump calls out my governor like a boss. She knocked on my door on a Sunday morning last campaign season, and it is hard to describe the visceral reaction I had to opening my door to this ghoulish woman. I’ve had interactions working bar security with Hells Angels, local gangbangers, out-of-state gangbangers, along with an array of deeply disturbed people.

Nobody’s given me the ick quite like her.

Epstein files are on Pam Bondi’s desk right now, if Pam Bondi is to be believed.

I was just there for the snorkeling.

Small talk and excessive socializing here are exhausting. “How’s work?” “How are you?” “How was your day?” “Are you still working at/in…?”
