Yeah, I don’t want to relitigate it, cuz there’s already a thread for that, but anybody that doesn’t think this nato angle wasn’t just rationalization for a much longer term plan isn’t really worth listening to.

No rudeness intended. I just mean to say that a lot of the “information” circulating on this war on YouTube is simply incorrect. Yes, some of the videos are incorrectly labelled, and it’s easy to trick non-Russian or Ukrainian speakers because the languages sound nearly the same. But Russia is handily defeating Ukraine in this war, and has been for two years. There’s a reason why Ukrainian men are fleeing the country.
When it comes to the war itself, I do not believe it is America’s problem at all. Russia had very good reasons for invading Ukraine which go back to the 2014, regardless of what the Ukrainians you met 15 years ago said about the country. And the fate of Ukraine is not America’s concern. George Washington warned us about getting into “foreign entanglements”. The convoluted history of Eastern Europe, along with its longstanding regional rivalries and animosities, should be of no concern to the people of this nation. Our own people are being killed by drugs and the nations south of our border are being ravaged by gangs, which is causing illegal immigration, and yet so many among the elites and citizenry are obsessed with what Russians and Ukrainians are doing to each other thousands of miles away.
Wars are full of misleading information, much of it in service of the grift, or RACKET.
I am of the increasing belief that nearly all information about all wars of the last century plus has been passed on to us through heavily-applied propaganda filters. World War II was the most lied about event in history, setting loose all kinds of bad narratives. No, I’m not a holocaust denier. I’m talking about the broader picture, especially with regards to Socialist narratives that emerged out of the war.
Ukraine has been a horrible slaughter of lives. I hope the dying ends sooner, rather than later. It is beyond my judgement to say how social justice should be brought about in this situation.

I’ve never had much luck with them either.
Russians have lost ridiculous amount of soldiers during this war, which will be one of the bloodiest conflicts they’ve had (2ww and civil war will win by a huge margin). That’s not a problem, since Putin gives a rats ass how many Russians die.
But it has not been cake walk for Ukraine, and they’re on the point on breaking down. It seems Russia will win this one.
Saying that Russia had good reasons to invade Ukraine is same than to say that Germany had good reasons invading Poland or czechoslovakia in 1930s.
About US supporting Ukraine, that’s more complex topic. It is not directly your problem. But I still want to believe global world order and the west keeping it together. War mongerers should be put to their place and we should have some order over anarchic global politics.
I don’t defend us Europeans at all. Most of the countries have completely negleted their military for decades, and there are big political movements which are against supporting Ukraine (Many western Europeans seem to think Russia is only easts problem, so the logic is similar to the US).
Problem is that Kreml will not stop to Ukraine. It will try to expand it’s sphere of influence by force while trying to became superpower again. Luckily most of the Europe is in NATO (if nato holds up…)
The thing is that if we only think about ourselves, the problems will escalate more rapidly. I think Co-operation is the way, not isolation.

And that Larry Silverstein took out a multi-billion dollar insurance policy on the trade centers a short period before the attack.
And that his wife, his daughter, his son, and himself (all of whom worked there every day) were not there on the day the towers collapsed… his wife’s cover story was that she had an “emergency dental routine checkup”.
And that the day before the attacks, they had announced some 1.4 trillion dollars that could not be tracked??
Tower 7 was the building that the security agencies used for their accounting.
And that where the indestructible black box(es) could not be located in the demolition site, yet they found a pristine passport from one of the hijackers on the sidewalk.
And that the official explanation for tower 7’s collapse was that the diesel generator in the basement had a leak, and that there was an electrical malfunction that sparked the diesel, causing a fire.
And that the pentagon - one of the most heavily guarded building on the planet - had precisely one video showing the impact of the plane.
In that video, it shows a plane performing extremely difficult maneuvers - which is highly unlikely for a virtually untrained pilot to accomplish.
And that an ex-CIA operative on dialysis orchestrated this attack from a cave.
And that it was known most of the perpetrators of the attack were Saudis, and we decided to invade multiple countries that weren’t Saudi Arabia.
I think that covers the broad strokes, for me.

Everyone has good reasons to do whatever they do.
And then we had the Monroe Doctrine.
I would also claim that later in history it was quite nice that US did interfere to the World Wars, otherwise whole Europe would have turned to be communist.
If Europe grumbles (EU disintegrates for example), that also weakens US.
I might be becoming a socialist more and more.
