I didn’t vote for Jared Golden, who is an establishment Dem likely in office because Maine lets anyone who shows up in Maine vote. I have always given him credit for not being a woke embarrassment to Lewiston.
He can also read the room and understands that his political future is in jeopardy if voter ID passes in Maine, and possibly even if it doesn’t. He won re-election to the House by a razor’s edge in a rank-choice runoff that included some pretty long lines of people who need translators to participate and lots of college kids who don’t always meet the residency requirements.
Opposition parties are important, especially when the other side is appearing to be more and more of a freight train than anyone could have predicted.

This is where you are wrong. Joking among friends is one thing, saying things on the internet to essentially the entire world, without any context, is another. There are white guys who can get away with using the n word with black friends but they know better than to use it with a black person they don’t know.

One of the reasons why socialists turn everything into shit is their ideological purity tests they use to control people.
